Ladies the thread got too big so I have started a new one hope you don't mind, I will cart the list and the tonnes of baby dust over in a minute.......................

OP posts:
kirstygem · 17/10/2007 11:22

Some EWCM today so definately BDing tonight. TTC involves so much peeing on sticks and knicker watching, not things you can ever talk about in RL. Not bothering with ov sticks this time as did them 10 days in a row last month and they never said I was ovulating once.

graciemac · 17/10/2007 11:38

So i just took dd to the doctors and mentioned as we were leaving that it was taking a while for me to get preggers. Anyway she said that i shouldn't be trying because mentally and emotionally i'm probably not in the right state - since i'm in between houses and living at my parents. I wanted to slap her
However there might be some truth in what she's saying and it does seem to be that people fall pregnant when they chill out and stop 'trying'. But how do you do that? I think about it all the time. Have been teary this morn as i don't think i'm pregnant - major pmt, sore boobs etc - same every month.
har and looney or any other graduates willing to give advice on stress free ttc?

graciemac · 17/10/2007 11:40

Oh and thanks for the warm welcome everyone

MissusH · 17/10/2007 11:47

Hi Gracie , don't blame you for wanting to slap the dr!!

Is there ever a totally right time to conceive? If we really thought about it we would come up with a thousand reasons not to

Shazza2002 · 17/10/2007 11:53

graciemac

Maybe if your doctor thought before she spoke maybe she would realise that a part of the reason you are emotional is because you really want something that you can't have and you don't know why, and that she could maybe help the situation

PicknMix · 17/10/2007 12:23

Sorry to hear about the BFN Foghorn and for you Gracie about your dr's thoughtless comments. I really wonder what planet some Dr's are on (not all, obviously) but some seem to have missed the bit in the course on 'bedside manner' (or just simple tact and good manners in fact).

Have updated the list as am back up the top again . Gutted and sad today - off shopping for holiday bits now in order to feel better (never seems to work though).

oh foghorn, cycle buddy...damn!!! No AF here, but am stressed out to the max at the moment and a bit down the last week or so, so am pretty sure it's because of that...

graciemac you ought put in a complaint...doctors can be so awful sometimes. When I had just found out about DC1 I went to GP as I believe you are supposed to and he (yes, he)said 'I'm not sure why you are here, what do you want me to do about it?' I then found out weeks later he had not referred me, so I had no midwife's appointment, no book, no notes, nothing! I mean it's not exactly difficult is it?? Grrrr
Hope this is your month and you can go back and stick up the proverbials!

graciemac · 17/10/2007 12:46

Thankyou guys mn really is the best therapy - who needs doctors!
Feeling much more positive now - who knows sore boobs and general bad mood could be pregnancy signs
BTW what is TEW?

Gracie Sometimes it feels some doctors just want to get rid of you. I had an appt once and dared to ask about 2 minor medical problems and I got a lecture about how one 10 minute appt is for one problem and if I had 2 issues I would have to make another 10 min appt . Anyway you know if you are ready so go for it.

07mumstheword · 17/10/2007 12:49

TEW = THE EVIL WITCH!

07mumstheword · 17/10/2007 12:50

High Starlight Are you the lady that had the disgraceful hospital experience recently?

Gracie - being told to relax is certainly right but totally unhelpful. It just makes you even more stressed. I was working myself up so much last month as I wasn't getting smiley faces on my ov test, wasn't having any ewcm etc. Was crying and so worried and upset. Did NOT help when I was told to chill because otherwise I'd never get pregnant. Thank you, I feel much more relaxed now . But I did get pregnant (get so nervous saying that in case I jinx it ).
Obviously you really do have a lot on your plate though, not just stress about not conceiving quickly, so your body could be quite worn out and maybe the body is unwilling then, I don't know. But do keep trying if it's what you want (but without ov kits, cervical and cm checks etc as that just makes the stress worse). Do try and find moments (even if it's hard as you have a million things to do) to have a nice bath (but read while in there, don't think!), meet friends or go to the cinema. Your mind won't stop thinking of it without you putting something else in there!

Sorry I can't be helpful and waffle instead. Lots and lots of luck!

Sorry for all the Af arrivals everyone. And Starlight, so sorry that you're here .

spookykitty · 17/10/2007 15:46

Gracie - I was going through a terrible time with a house move when I got pregnant with DD2, DP had to move away with work and I was left in London with a 9 month old, a flat that we couldn't sell, mounting debts and possibly bankruptcy and I still got pregnant. Had to move into a grotty one room flat for 3 months as well. Pregnancy is 9 months though and where you are now isn't where you will be in 9 months IYSWIM, things worked out for us and I had my baby in our new house. Bloody doctors!!!

Starlight - sorry you are back with us but this is has been a very lucky thread so far so we are hoping it continues

Har - hello pregnant ex cycle buddy

ClairePO - sorry about AF turning up but hey CD1 of a new cycle = new hope

Foghorn - bummer about the BFN but theres always next month honey how do you fancy being on a Due in July 08 thread with me four years after our last one?

CD14 here today, no ov pains and nothing on the opks but loads of EWCM yesterday so still BDed last night. Didn't get a on the CBD opks until CD15 last month but had ov pain CD14 so who knows?

Scotland game on tonight but have told DP he better be up for it afterwards whatever teh score

Excitable · 17/10/2007 16:30

Gracie Oooh I'm cross about that doctor - where do they get off telling you when you can have babies?? Grrr!! You should have poked her in the eye and run away!

Sorry and glad at the same time for you, ClairePO at least you can make a start now.

DH better be ready for a piece of the action tonight, I'm not ovulating yet, but I could do in the next couple of days, so we're going to start BDing every other day until the two week wait. He doesn't know this yet, but I'm going to seduce him

Oh darling, it's business time...

ClairePO · 17/10/2007 17:29

Go Gracie LOL

To be honest I'm quite pleased AF's here - you hear of some people having to wait quite a while after a mc and mine was confirmed 5 weeks ago today and bleeding only stopped about 3 weeks ago. Like you say, its a new start and as SK says new hope.

ClairePO · 17/10/2007 17:30

eek I didn't mean go Gracie I meant go excitable

Minnow1 · 17/10/2007 17:43

Can I join you please?

Thought it was about time I stopped lurking and introduced myself.

Have been popping in most days to see how you are all getting on - does that make me sound wierd?

I am CD21 TTC#1 (MC July)

Positive result on ovulation test on Monday, bd'd that evening - tried to seduce DP last night but he was too tired!!! He is happy to sit back and let nature take it course but I want a baby now!!!

spookykitty · 17/10/2007 17:45

hi minnow welcome to the thread, I had a mc in August theres quite a few on here are ttc after a mc, so you are not alone I know what you mean I already have 2 babies but SO want another one it hurts.

Sassylou · 17/10/2007 17:49

Mmmmm me too, now I've got green light from DH to go for no.3 I am unnecessarily impatient!

abbevillemum · 17/10/2007 19:33

Congratulations for those with BFPs - fantastic news, depending on my mood it either fills me with hope or makes me grumble quietly .

I am now at CD28. Part of me is not very hopeful - BFN on CD26 and no with the OPKs either. However, the other (slightly delusional) side still holds out hope. Keep on spotting pregnancy symptoms but spotted even more last month

TEW due tomorrow or Friday so fingers crossed....

ps welcome Minnow1 - I had MC at the end of June and no doubt about it, I am still a little out of sorts.
