Well I woke this morning to a horrible stomach ache, did my CBD OPK test and got my .

First time of using them so first smiley face. Very happy- almost feels like it was getting a positive pregnancy test!

Well great timing as we are about the leave to get the eurostar to Paris for the rest of the week. Make the most of our .

Digital, it is looking so good for you. The damp knickers thing is such a good sign I think as usually most people are very dry before AF (I had loads - TMI - as you might remember). But you're right (I guess ... am impatient here!) to hold off testing as your cycles are so long and could be a long way off still. Can't wait to hear what doctor says!

morning all!.......my stomach feeling much better as yesterday i felt like i was on a heavy period but did have a small brown period stain so its possibility old blood.

this is scarey for me as my DD wasnt planned but this time we are planning it. I want to have a go with using the Ovulation test stick to see when im most fertile.......i presume its best to wait till i have my first period to start using them as the mirena coil hormones stuff will be still inside me for a bit???

Acronyms - whats a CM? and a CD2? - cycle day 2???

Hi Screaminglips - cm is the delightful cervical mucus. Yum. CD is, as you say, cycle day.

As for when you should start the ovulation sticks I'm afraid I don't know about the coil. With the pill the chemicals leave you straightaway so it's fine to start the sticks. Is coil different? Only thing with waiting out the first cycle (which is what I did) is that then you know how long your cycle is and can be more accurate with knowing when to start using them (they're not so cheap either - I went through 2 packs which was painful! Never got a smiley face (and am not pregnant) so not sure I would use them again, alot of people seem to rely on ewcm - eggwhite cervical mucus - instead... on the other hand I didn't get that either!)

screaminglips CD is cycle day, CD1 is the first day of your period. CM is cervical mucus, and you'll also see EWCM which is egg white cervical mucus (the clear and stretchy, snot-like kind - hence egg white). Its EWCM that is supposed to appear before ovulation signalling that you're fertile.

Morning ladies, may I join you if I don't yet know what my CD is? I'm waiting for AF following a mc and I feel she must be here soon so I'm just getting acquainted so to speak.

Morning all - just got into work after the mad school run and a lane closure on the M42

Still no sign of af - just dashed to the loo to check!

Mentioned lack of TEW to dh and said that I was thinking of testing (am out tonight and want to know if it's okay to have a drink or 2...). He reckons I should hold off for a few days after what happened with dd (bfn shortly after af due date, bfp about a week later) as he knows I will be disappointed if I get a bfn.

I can't wait a week!!! So here's my plan:
I am finishing work at 12 to go to dd's harvest assembly - need to be there at 1. On my way I need to pop to the supermarket for cake so will pick up a couple of tests while I'm there.

Unfortunately I have both sets of grandparents back at my house after the assembly so no real chance to test unitil they leave - which hopefully will be prior to dd's bedtime of 7.30pm. Looks like my earliest opportunity to test will be then and in the meantime I will become an obsessed knicker-watcher unable to concentrate on my work...

and if I get a bfn of course I will be disappointed, but it means I can drink more wine tonight....

Cam I join too? Stopped taking pill last Friday, now looking forward to TTC no 3 after a bit of a gap, DD1 (6.5) DD2 (5). V Excited! No AF yet but not had a proper one of them since started on Loestrin 20 pill two years ago. Anyone got an idea how long it should take before I get back to normal?? No idea when I might start to ovulate or anything!

MissusH - make sure you hold your wee for 3-4 hours and don't drink for the last two to build up enough hormone for the test. Fingers crossed!!!!

Sassylou I have no idea how long it takes to get back to normal, when I conceived I hadn't been on pill for about two years we were just avoiding doing it mid cycle as a means of contraception and not being very scientific about it. I guess you can join me as CD waiting!

screaminglips I had Mirena coil removed in May and they told me I could start TTC immediately, we didn't actively try but we didn't take any precautions either. It was great when I got my first AF as then I could start tracking my cycle and make sure we BD'd at my most fertile time.

I know at the minute I have no idea how long my cycles will be but am still a tad disheartened. I really hope this doesn't turn out like TTC DD1

I'm a bit like you. Stopped pill in September, now on CD29 just waiting for AF to arrive so I get an idea of my normal cycle etc... It seems some people have regular cycles where as others it can take a while to get periods back.

Just wish there was a way of predicting these things!!

Shazza2002 - Nightmare isn't it? Have been pestering DH for a year. Now he's given in (in the nicest possible way) really want to get going!

Not had any trouble conceiving before, DD1 was very unplanned (although we weren't mega careful tbh), DD2 was 1st cycle TTC. However both a bit older now so who knows.

Guess I'll add myself to the list and learn a bit of patience!

That is the worst thing not knowing about your cycle length. You are on same CD as me CD29, on pill I had regular 28 day cycle, now I'm off it who knows.
