07mumstheword · 11/10/2007 09:03

Good Morning! Anyone out there? I need help.

I am on CD 10 and TMI alert this morning I had a huge amount of EWCM does this mean I at at my most fertile for about 48 hours and I'm still in with a chance if I can get DH (with man flu) to BD tonight?

Bucky2007 · 11/10/2007 09:08

Morning 07MTW If you are young in ttc terms ie twentys, it could last upto 5 days. Otherwise yes, EWCM is supposed to mean you are fertile. It can be misleading though, I got my EWCM on CD9 this month but didn't ov till CD14! How long is your cycle?

07mumstheword · 11/10/2007 09:09

My first time at updating the list. Hope it's ok. If I've made any mistakes please put me right. We must be due some more graduates now?

07mumstheword · 11/10/2007 09:14

Thanks Bucky I'd best get to it!!

My cycle is usually 28-30 days. I'm 34 so my days are becoming numbered

You'd think with one child already I'd know my stuff but I fell PG by accident last time and only been trying 6 months this time I've fell PG twice but didn't stick so tracking my cycle has been difficult.

I thought this month I would
just let nature take its course and not worry about it but true to form Middle of the month I'm becoming obsessed!

07mumstheword · 11/10/2007 09:17

Hope I didn't sound insensitive to anyone who's been trying for a long time in my last message. Sorry if I offended anyone.

ladylush · 11/10/2007 09:42

Don't worry mtw, you're not the only oldie here. I'm a year older than you and in fact I will be 36 in January.

Ok ladies, I have a GP appt. today (well one for ds as well but that's slightly separate). I am going to ask for thyroid function test and oestrogen levels, as well as investigation into why I keep getting upper respiratory tract infections. The TFT I am requesting because my mum has an underactive thyroid and it can be hereditary - also can cause recurrent m/c. Also wondering if oestrogen levels are too high as I have tingly breasts all the time now as if I am pre-menstrual. Also terrible PMT. I get colds (which often lead to sinusitus) every month (twice this month)though I have managed to avert sinusitis by taking max strength vit c and using steam rooms. My diet is healthy, I exercise 3 times a week and I no longer drink alcohol during the week. Inspite of this regime I am not losing any of the weight I've gained since having ds. OMG, you probably think I'm a hypochondriac It is getting me down though

debinaustria · 11/10/2007 09:51

07mtw You've got plenty of time yet - I'm 38 , 39 at Christmas!!

Ladylush hope it goes OK at the Drs

Deb

ladylush · 11/10/2007 10:04

Thanks deb - just had a look at your pics. Austria looks beautiful. Bet the kids love the snow don't they.

debinaustria · 11/10/2007 10:28

Oh yes, they can't wait for winter!! I love the snow but not clearing it and driving in it - won't be doing much snow shifting this winter though!

Deb

ladylush · 11/10/2007 10:44

I'm sure you have snow tyres though - not like us! My mum went to Finland recently and the taxi driver was laughing at the stupid Brits who crash every winter cos they don't have appropriate tyres!

debinaustria · 11/10/2007 11:48

Yep snow tyres and snow chains

Deb

Morning all just checking in for today we have been short of BFPs this week is anyone going to test this week?

Not much happening here AF gone so just checking out my CM again, am not using opks this month as they stress me out. I'm also pretending not to be obsessed about TTC either (some chance)

ladylush - good luck at the docs I don't think you are a hypochrondriac better getting these things checked out. I'm 32 btw so a baby really

07MTW - get BDing even if DH does have man flu tell him he can lie back and you'll do all the work, men like that well mine does maybe he's lazy.

Has anyone else heard of taking Robitussin couch medicine to improve your EWCM, apparently (read an article linked from here) if you take it a few hours prior to BDing it can help provide a better environment for the swimmers have also heard drinking grapefruit juice does the same thing???

hello to everyone else

digitalgirl · 11/10/2007 12:08

Hey SK glad AF finally packed up. I've been drinking grapefruit juice all month...I think it does help a little I certainly made sure I drank two large glasses the day I ov'ed! But I didn't suddenly start producing masses of it at the time.

I'm having really weird symptoms at the moment. I've had loads of EWCM for the past 4 days. Dunno if I'm ovulating again (might do an opk tonite!) or if I'm pg or if I'm due on. Will know on Saturday hopefully!

Good luck at the docs ladylush mtw go for it! Apparently after the egg's hatched you dry up the next day. So if there's no more EWCM tomorrow, then you'll know. But what do I know about EWCM - I get it all over the place (I mean all over my cycle )

07mumstheword · 11/10/2007 12:53

Ladylush Good luck at the doctors. It might all be nothing to worry about but talking to a doctor should put your mind at rest and if Doc sends you for some tests at least you'll feel like you're doing something. Let us know how you get on.

SK Glad to hear evil AF gone. I too am pretending not to be obsessed about getting/being PG, it's hard work!

My dear friend who is 20 wks PG has just been round (we would both have been due in March if mine had stuck) she has such a big bump. It was a when I opened the door but she is sooo lovely I'm pleased for her and know it will be my turn soon. We did some kind of old wives tale ring test which apparently has never been wrong It tells you how many, what sex children and in what order you are going to have. I'm expected to have one girl (which I already have) and two boys. Blimey I was only expecting one more but according to this I've got another two to go It's probably a load of old clap trap but it made me feel better

The sun is shining, I think I'm ovulating and I've just had chocolate cake, I feel good today. Hope you are all good too.

07mumstheword · 11/10/2007 13:00

SK I haven't even heard of Robitussin but I'm off to buy some grapefruit juice!

libralady · 11/10/2007 15:47

Oh FS you really have been having a time of it lately. Sorry for your friend but excitable's advice seems spot on.
With regards to the flu jab, when I was ttc ds many years ago, I was advised by the nurse not to have it even when ttc not just not to have it inbetween months when you know you are not pg.
excitable sorry about TEW showing her red ugly face. ut on the positive side, just think of the fun you can have again next cycle. You appear to be so bubbly and your name really suits you.
Well, now on CD16 and according to my digital monitor I peaked at CD 11&12 so we did the obligatory bding over the weekend and now I am in the dreaded 2WW.
Nothing else to report, except that I really fancied a pate sandwich at lunchtime and some peanuts but thought better of it just in case. Knowing my luck, I should have had them anyway as I'll probaby have abstained for nothing.
There seems to have been a lack of babydust this week so have dug some out from under the stairs. Don't worry I've kept some back for another time.

That is obviously enough as I've just sneezed.

ladylush · 11/10/2007 16:02

Hi all. Back from the doctor appts.

  1. Apparently it is perfectly normal for a child under 7 to have a cold every day of the year - he does have a cold every month so when she said it was normal, I said what would be abnormal -365 days a year? She said no, that would still be normal. She's px something to help thin out his phlegm to avert the choking/spluttering in the night, but said it might not work. She said he is a "cattarh child"

  2. I have form for thyroid function test No referral for oestrogen test though she agreed my levels are probably high. Said nothing can be done to resolve that so no point in testing! As for constant ent infections, she didn't call me a "cattarh adult" interestingly - though she did recommend a hayfever nasal spray and she did say it was probably the oestrogen causing the problem as the hormone constricts the nasal passages. That explains why I get them just before my period each month. Hurrah, at least I was right about something

  3. No suggestions re sleep problem with ds, said she wasn't the best person to ask as she tried everything with hers but to no avail. Fair enough!

PennyBenjamin · 11/10/2007 16:07

Ooo, what was the ring test? Can you explain so I can try?

ladylush · 11/10/2007 16:21

I too am intrigued mtw
