@galatea098 I’m the same. Every time I say I’ll not go crazy googling symptoms and I won’t test early. Never happens 🤣

Manasvi · 26/08/2020 18:54

@galatea098 mine is 30 days too...next due as per the app is 24th sep.

Livvi2021 · 26/08/2020 22:28

Yep I think if you're TTC it's inevitable you'll be looking for symptoms lol. Hey on another topic, what are your views on being over weight before getting pregnant? I've been trying to lose weight for ages, but broke my foot last year and it's been hard since to lose any (and with lockdown etc.) Didn't want to put off TTC anymore, but I am a bit over weight ☹️ is it really bad to be heavier than you should be before conceiving?

Stabal · 27/08/2020 01:09

@Livvi2021 I'm not sure how far you've read back in our threads but I'm overweight. For years I've been denied tests and treatment in the gynaecological area. Fobbed off with hormone pills and the mirena coil creating traumatic situations. I lost 4 stone last year and my GP decided I was now a safe weight to have fertility investigations. This was around a year and a half after we'd begun properly trying. My periods were irregular before I lost the weight, they came back regular by July last year and by November I was ovulating again. I was in the middle of having tests done for fertility so I'd relaxed all my tracking etc and let the worry move to professionals and was waiting on AF coming in March so I could get an HSG test done (dye in the tubes) but it never came and that's when I found out I was pregnant. I was 6 weeks by the time I realised! I miscarried in May after 2 years TTC and all the hard work to get to that point of conception. So yeah, I do believe losing weight will definitely help your chances but it's not the defining factor. Obviously if you have a gynae issue that centres around weight like I do (pcos) then it's nearly essential to try and lose 10% of your body weight. Good luck!

Livvi2021 · 27/08/2020 08:34

@Stabal wow you really have been on a journey, I had no idea. Thanks for sharing! And again, so sorry to hear about your miscarriage hugs
Have you had any ivf or anything like that, is that something you would consider?

I've been trying to lose weight for years and I lost quite a bit before my wedding, but then after I broke my foot I became a bit scared to exercise and never really got back into it and since then I've put on two stone (I was already overweight before then) :-(

Stabal · 27/08/2020 10:27

@Livvi2021 we haven't had IVF but would do it if it needs to come to that. But unfortunately it's a very long wait on the NHS and they try IUI first which isn't as successful. Also because I managed to get pregnant I'm essentially back to square one in the NHS eyes, my investigations stopped and I will have to have another year of TTC before they will pick it up again. We couldn't afford to go private for IVF but it's something we've looked at for investigating if nothing happens within 6 months. I can totally understand how you put on weight after your broken foot! It's really not easy to do, it takes a lot of willpower and the right mindset so I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself. Make tiny changes and go from there!

Livvi2021 · 27/08/2020 11:43

@Stabal that seems ridiculous to me and doesn't seem right making you wait again and going back to square one! Yeah I had friends that were going down ivf route and NHS wait was just too long luckily they had the money to pay to go private themselves and it worked on the second try! Well I've got everything crossed for you! When is your AF due next?

Stabal · 27/08/2020 11:54

@Livvi2021 it's crazy money but if I had it I'd be doing it! I'm 8 DPO now, AF due on the 2nd or 3rd. Very anxious this cycle because I felt ovulation so strongly but not holding out much hope as my temperature dipped 3 days ago and although it's steady and still above the cover line it should still be higher 😔

Livvi2021 · 27/08/2020 12:53

@Stabal I've never really tracked temperatures, so don't know much about it. What's the cover line? How do you track temperature?

Stabal · 27/08/2020 13:04

@Livvi2021 tracking your temperature is the only way to confirm you've ovulated. OPKs can indicate you're going to ovulate but not that you definitely are. You need a basal body thermometer, one that reads temperature to 2 decimal points and you can take it orally or vaginally. You take it as soon as you waken in the morning, before you sit up, get out of bed, go for a pee etc so I keep mine in the bedside drawer and I just roll over and get it out. You also should do it at the same time every day so worth while setting an alarm if you don't have a regular routine! Everyone will have their own coverline (marked red on the chart) depending on their entire cycle temperature, on the day you ovulate your temperate dips and the next day it should rise and continue to rise for 3 days before ovulation is confirmed. I'll attach my chart so you can see what I mean. I'm so glad I started doing it! I'm pretty certain OPKs were giving me false ovulation along with apps like Flo etc that just use guessing whereas Fertility Friend does the detection based on data you enter, it's very clever! The idea is after a few cycles you get to know your body by the patterns and when you're going to ovulate etc

Let the symptom spotting begin!
I've had slight cramps/heavy feeling/ bloated it's too early for implantation though. 🤷

LT103 · 27/08/2020 18:51

@butterfly5291 I love the symptom spotting 🤣. How many dpo are you now?

butterfly5291 · 27/08/2020 19:01

@LT103 only 4...I think I got my surge Friday evening/sat morning as OPK sat evening wasn't even at high levels. But my temp confirms only 4 dpo.

LT103 · 27/08/2020 19:21

@butterfly5291 you’re about the same as me then. I think I ovulated sat or Sunday. My temps have been all over the place as I had one night tossing and turning, then last night I woke up on couch at 3am 🤦🏻‍♀️ So I had to discard a couple. Def rise in temp on the other days tho so just deciding if I’m 3 or 4 dpo 🤷🏻‍♀️

TTC Baby no1. The crazy lot. Thread 2!!
butterfly5291 · 27/08/2020 19:33

@LT103 yay we can get each through this week!
Put your temps in fertility friend...it's much better at calculating ovulation from bbt...isn't it @Stabal?

LT103 · 27/08/2020 19:46

@butterfly5291 I have them in that too. But today’s temp was so high you can’t see it on the chart 🤣. That’s why I posted Femometer. It won’t calculate ovulation because I’ve had to discard 2 temps right at the vitaL time. Ah well, that will teach me to stay up late watching tv haha.
I’m thinking I’ll test around the 3rd or so.

butterfly5291 · 27/08/2020 19:55

@LT103 AHH ok. Yeah I was thinking of testing Wed with a FRER but don't know if I should just save it for a couple of days

Stabal · 27/08/2020 19:55

@butterfly5291 @LT103 absolutely. FF fangirl here 😂 8 DPO for me and still have the weird gurgly feeling tummy and have a sore head tonight. I absolutely hate symptom spotting lol

Livvi2021 · 27/08/2020 21:50

@Stabal thanks for that, it's really interesting I'll have to start trying it! The gurgling is a good sign, fingers crossed!

@LT103 @butterfly5291 I believe I'm 4 dpo too! Although I think we missed the right timing this month (still a bit of a novice at all this) so I'm not holding out for any bfp or anything.

Stabal · 27/08/2020 21:54

I've just sneezed and had a pain low right side. I promised myself I would not do this symptom spotting this cycle arghhh!

Livvi2021 · 27/08/2020 22:25

@Stabal lol - we can promise ourselves lots of things, but on reality I don't think we can help some things hehe

butterfly5291 · 27/08/2020 22:54

Pains are getting really sharp and stabbing now. Worried that it's actually endo pains rather than anything to do with being 4dpo 😭
