Hey girls as we are about to get thrown out of our thread I have started a new one so we can continue manically looking for EWCM, sore (.)(.)s and orange feet whilst chanting 'in with love, out with BFNs'.

Come on over/in

Penny my mum's a dental nurse and she says that it sounds really odd but when your gums bleed, you need to brush them more.

Brush them as much as you can and use mouthwash and you should be fine. Are they painful when you're not brushing them?

PennyBenjamin · 19/10/2007 13:13

Hmmm, no, they're not sore at all, just a shock when you spit out a mouthful of blood!

Sorry, meant to use the thread to ask whether it could be a symptom, not to start a discussion on gum health, but will take all advice very gladly!

Thanks!

So my GP appt this morning was about as helpful as a dog in a porkpie hat. Told her about my ever-lengthening cycles and how i didn't think i was ovulating. she said if the opk said i was then i probably was . I asked about hormones, pcos, what else could be delaying my cycles. she didn't know anything, just referred me for a day19 blood test.

brilliant, i now have to wait for AF to turn up, then wait 19-21 days, then go and sit in the walk-in blood test clinic for god knows how long, then wait another two weeks for the results.

I suppose there's no rush . BFN this morning, not that I was surprised. have bought some more cb digitals. will wait till next weekend if no AF.

gg be lovely to have you along. email bucky as she has my email address.

GryffinGhoul · 19/10/2007 15:03

DG - sorry to hear about the rubbish GP visit . My sister is a GP, so I have told her to keep an eye on these threads, so she can understand the psycology of wimmin like us and be super sympathetic and clued up - she says she will . I'll email Bucky and we can arrange the meet up! Is there anyone else in London or the SE? Is anniemac local? My email address has my name in it, so like you I can't post it here! A meet up would be great . I'm off on holiday for three weeks (yippee! - [very excited emoticon]) on 26th October and not back until 13th November. It will be the first proper holidy that DH and I have had for nearly two years, so we are really in need of the break.

I didn't know that bleeding gums was a pregnancy symptom - I love this place, you learn something everyday!

digitalgirl · 19/10/2007 15:17

wow gg a 3 week holiday sounds amazing. would love to go away for that long. even two weeks would do me. going anywhere nice?

GryffinGhoul · 19/10/2007 15:33

cheers DG - I cannot wait. Really, I am so tired and in need a break and have so much holiday left to use up. Anyone who knows me in RL will guess me now, but we're doing a road trip through Arizona and New Mexico. Sort of like Thelma & Louise, but without the headscarves and, very sadly, without Brad Pitt . We've even got a soft top car sorted out and I wasn't brave enough for the Harley .

DH wants to finish up in Vegas. He's got this mad idea of renewing our wedding vows: him dressed in a Hawaiian shirt and me in jeans and a veil, officiated by Elvis singing "Love me Tender" . I think this is less about him re-declaring his love for me and more about having a comedy story to tell his mates!

07mumstheword · 19/10/2007 16:28

DG Sorry your GP wasn't too helpful. At least she is refering you for some tests and you've made one step forward. Let's hope you don't need to by then?

GG Very of your hols sounds fantastic. Me & DH did trip to Vegas and had such fun. We didn't get married there though although many people thought we would as I was PG at the time!

digitalgirl · 19/10/2007 16:57

gg that sounds amazing! i love road trips. we once drove through the rockies in canada, from Jasper to Banff. The most amazing scenery. too.

mtw i know , I'm not that upset about it tbh (even though I ranted earlier). wasn't expecting any major revelations, but glad i went and glad dh was there to witness it.

Got AF-cramps, but completely normal boobs. Looks like she's on her way!

Bucky2007 · 19/10/2007 19:15

DG I thought for sure the doctor would help us figure out what is going on. Doctors are rubbish, they don't actually know very much at all. They are totally inconsiderate too and have no self awareness. They should all be sent on that course I went on to learn how they appear to others and that just because they know all about what is says in their text books doesn't mean we do. arrghh, they make me so mad.

Gryffin there you are . Well I had started making a plan with dg before I logged on here, but now I am thinking I might take the afternoon off so I can be more flexible about where we meet. We are meeting for lunch.

As for the road trip I have done that road trip . You HAVE to go to Monument valley, its stunning...and Thelma and Louise went there too! Its my favourite place I have visited but just avoid all the drunk Indians .

BTW was sick this morning (as in vommed) don't know what that was about. I didn't 'feel' sick, just felt like I was going to cough and it started coming out (sorry tmi). I think it may have been taking my folic acid on an empty stomach ? Symptoms...just the (.)(.)s, nothing new . With all the stress this month I am doubtful that I will get that BFP.

OP posts:
digitalgirl · 19/10/2007 19:25

OMG bucky vomming is a proper symptom! all the ladies on the ante-natal threads talk about the 'gag' relex they get before MS. AND you've got sore/bigger boobs in the 2nd week of the 2ww...it's looking good for you.

gg come, come!

ClairePO · 19/10/2007 21:34

OMG Bucky!!! Sickness and sore (.)(.)'s you nee dto test. Have everything crossed.

Sorry that docs appointment was so useless DG

So, plans for this lovely autumn weekend ladies? And no, I don't mean plans for weeing on sticks/in cupped hands I mean what nice non getting pregnant things are you all up to!

Bucky2007 · 19/10/2007 21:44

I'm only CD25 of what has been a 31 day cycle for the last couple months. Too early to test. I forgot I have got another symptom, but I had these symptoms (apart from the chucking) last month, lots of CM, TMI Alert...the 'creamy' kind . LOL I can't believe I am going to meet people for lunch that know how much CM I produce. pmsl, oh dear...I think we are crossing line

I am getting old too, I have been out for dinner and am back at home at 9.44pm!

need to kmow the details of grand canyon.

will post tomorrow properly as I am on blackberry

spookykitty · 19/10/2007 23:33

hello CD16 here DP refused to have sex with me tonight and has gone off to bed negative on opks this morning so the damage has or hasn't been done so to speak, AF due 31st so 2ww hell for me then, I will have to make up some symptoms as I don't get any when pregnant anyway.

Re: bleeding gums, definite in pregnancy mine have always bled when pregnant and brushing my teeth makes me gag too.

DG - so sorry about the GPs appt I was thinking about you today when I couldn't get to the pc to see what was happening

libralady · 20/10/2007 13:17

OMFG!!!!
Am CD 25 and have been up since 6am today as DS decided to wake early.
Went to the loo first thing and didn't think about anything, but at 9am went again (completely unusual as hadn't drunk anything) and decided on the off chance to test as I've got some cheapy test off e-bay and am sure I can see a very faint 2nd line. Showed it to DH as thought I might be seeing things (wishing it more likely) and even he thinks he can see a very very faint 2nd line (and he doesn't know where the second line should show).
Have had sore (.)(.)s for a week now and cramp feelings for the last few days. Not going to get my hopes up too much until I am actually late. AF not due until Wednesday. Am I being stupid and imagining things as I want a 2nd so badly!!!!

Bucky2007 · 20/10/2007 14:52

I don't think so Libralady I am CD26 and on the off chance, despite being only 11dpo I thought I would test and got a BFN. Not even a hint of a line, so I would say a line is a line! Congratulations

OP posts:
digitalgirl · 20/10/2007 18:13

congrats libralady, hope you get your confirmation soon

bucky ah, the 11dpo test...don't we ever learn? well I still think it's looking positive for you. I'm sure by our lunch next week you'll have a BFP and I'll have my AF !! am having a think about which cafe/restaurant to meet in.

must make mental note to stop browsing 'fertility' books in the bookshop. a quick skim and I'm convinced I have PCOS or DH's boxers are too tight. tut

PicknMix · 20/10/2007 19:14

Libralady it sounds really hopeful!!! Congratulations!

DG sorry to hear that the docs wasn't all that helpful - was thinking about you. Sounds like the appt I had last year with my doctor who, quite merrily told me (with pictures hanging all over the walls of her own 2 DC's) that I would probably find it very difficult to have children due to PCOS but as I was only young she wouldn't consider tests or treatment yet. Same doctor also told me to go home and take some nurofen when I got my bfp but had started to bleed as it was 'just' (her words)a miscarriage and ring her in a week if I was still bleeding

Needless to say, I rang nhsdirect who told me I should go to hospital and where the EPAC saw me almost daily for about 8 weeks due to complications.

Bucky I'm sorry to hear about the bfn - I always crack on 11dpo, its just too much of a temptation! Still very early though....

Am at your meet up - I only live in West Sussex so train ride into town not difficult but what with going away at the end of the week I'm v busy at work (and at home trying to wash everything - why is it when you go on holiday you insist on taking clothes you haven't worn for ages ?!). Hope you all have a fab time though!

07mumstheword · 21/10/2007 08:54

Good morning all. Hope you're all ok.

Bucky How disappointing but it is early so fingers crossed.

DG I spent ages the other day at Fertility/parenting books in Waterstones. I already have a load so resisted the temptation to buy any more!

Picknmix I'm at what your doctor said to you it's so wrong! Hope you changed GP? Your EPAC sounded like it looked after you so so thank God for that!

Nothing to report here, I'm fed up of waiting now and still got another 7 days before I can test. AND I bought some cheapy OPK's & PG tests from EBay, they arrived yesterday, nothing like I expected and on closer inspection of the instructions I should test the day after I'm due. I thought I'd got the ones you can test early. Anyway they were so cheap I will give them a go, at least I will be able to Pee on something!

digitalgirl · 21/10/2007 11:10

picknmix very to hear the way your dr treated you. probably won't conceive? 'just' a miscarriage?
have done a bit of research on PCOS, did you have any treatments to improve your chances of ovulation or is it just hit and miss each month?
bet you have a brilliant time away and we can have another RL meet up when you're back

mtw i like to think of a 7 day wait as only 6 days that i have to get up and wee without weeing on a stick

bucky how are you today?

well I've been taking my temps and there was a small drop again today, which I think means AF is due. partly want it to come and get it over with, partly want it to wait until later in the week to prove that I did ov on CD35 (and the EWCM wasn't just a freak of nature).

i don't know what I can do to bring on ov quicker for next cycle though, anyone?

07mumstheword · 21/10/2007 14:47

DG Fantastic only 6 days to go! I had a weak moment and used one of my Ebay HPT's. I knew it would be BFN and told myself I was just making sure it said BFN so next wk if it's BFP I believe it (heres hoping!!). I just had to pee in my Ikea cup and see at least one line! Aahhhh the relieve, its like an addiction

Bucky2007 · 21/10/2007 18:48

Hello everyone...I now officially have a hobby. A very big and responsible hobby. A dog. Well he is not actually here yet, he comes next weekend (if the dippy woman puts the cheque in the bank in time for it to clear!). Anyway we had to spend the day dog proofing our garden. I have had to source somebody to 'visit' him at lunchtimes when dp is not working locally as well! He is very cute I will try and put a picture of him on my profile if I can figure it out. He is supposed to grow into a big fierce guard dog to fend off burglars, somehow I doubt it though!

On the symptom side, I am ignoring the BFN, as its not normal to get a BFP on 11dpo...I could have some symptoms, I think I have supersonic smell and I have more cm than usual. That's all though, and its not very severe bouts of either. , its not looking good again. I am kind of getting used to BFNs now...that's bad isn't it! . At least I have my new doggy friend now to mother
