Help needed! Positive test after miscarriage

Hi,

Just looking for advice, I had a D&C 4 nearly 5 weeks ago. I was never told to take a pregnancy test afterwards but since reading on here I feel it might be best especially as we are trying again before I even get my period back. I've just taken one and it says pregnant 1-2 weeks. I've heard it can take a long time to get a negative result but just wondering how long it does take to get a negative result and is this a false positive. I guess the only way I can really tell is by taking another one next week but I think I will be stressing out for a whole week! We had sex again two weeks ago, how possible is it that a pregnancy test would show the results that early?

This was my issue, I got positive test 6 weeks after my surgery and then I'm 100% sure I ovulated literally days after that and finally got my negative! It's super frustrating I know and I don't know about you but none of my health care providers could either get us a proper answer or explanation and even said that I must be pregnant again. It would help if the people we put our trust in kind of knew that these things can happen! Hope you get your negative very soon

It’s reassuring you’ve had a normal scan. Fingers crossed your levels drop quickly. I would advise not having unprotected sex until you get a negative otherwise it creates false hope and complicates everything.

Also @Northernsoul90 I'm not sure you can ovulate while the test is positive but I'm pretty sure I ovulated straight after getting my negative result

Thank you both, your story gives me hope OP that I get my negative soon - hopefully within the next week. I will start tracking ovulation after I get my negative then I think and hopefully it will happen soon after the negative test
