Hey girls, as @juno231 pointed out, we were almost at 1,000 messages on our last testing thread, so thought we should set up a new one for anyone that hasn't got their BFP this month. Of course a few of you may still get your positives :)

I'm just going to tag anyone that has posted on the thread in the last 24 hours or so, but please feel free to tag others that I've missed out...

@foreverhopeful67 @BbyBx2 @Muriel84 @Smushty14 @Smiling124 @33Carr @memily @LottieX

Of course this thread is based on a cycle of around 30days, so take the title with a pinch of salt as I'm sure some of us will be testing earlier and some of us later. I seem to be on track for a 33+ day cycle at the mo! xx

@ReginaaPhalange sometimes you can get more than one batch of EWCM in one cycle - your body might have geared up to ovulate and failed so tried again later. Do you temp at all and can then confirm ovulation? X

ReginaaPhalange · 16/06/2020 20:45

@MintGreenLife I've never taken my temperature, but maybe I should! Anything you would recommend?

MintGreenLife · 16/06/2020 20:50

@ReginaaPhalange I've found it helpful this cycle as I got three LH surges in total on OPKs, but I knew I hadn't ovulated with the first two as no temp rise. Finally got a temp rise on the third positive OPK 13 days after the first!

I got my thermometer from Amazon for something like £10. I'll see if I can find a link for you as it has to be one that gives very precise readings. I take my temp every morning around the same time, which should be after at least three hours undisturbed sleep, which is kind of tricky as I always get up to pee in the night, but never mind. You're meant to take it before you do anything - talk, check your phone, sip water etc. I then input it into my Premom app and Femometer app and at some point you should see a shift in temperature after ovulation has happened. It's not useful for timing TTC, but does confirm you've actually ovulated, which OPKs can't x

@MintGreenLife yes please - send me the link as that would be very helpful x

Hey all!
Still no AF for me.
Had really bad cramps today and thought this must be it and ran to the toilet. But nope still no sign but a lot of creamy CM!
Got an appointment in the EPU on Friday. They think there is a chance I am pregnant with very low HCG, but I highly doubt it. Probably as soon as I leave the hospital AF will arrive. I honestly think sometimes my lateness is psychological!

ReginaaPhalange · 16/06/2020 21:38

@MintGreenLife thank you so much x

MintGreenLife · 16/06/2020 22:15

No probs @ReginaaPhalange ☺️ By the sounds of things you may just have ovulated late, so sure your long cycle is nothing to worry about x

Hi ladies! Just checking but I've not got much to report. CD4 here, AF done and dusted although I still worry it's far too short and light.

Started temping, am drinking my grapefruit juice and taking all my supplements. FW due to start next Monday per femometer, Tuesday per Fitbit and Wednesday per FF! Considering OH gets sick of BD during FW I'm not too sure when to start without him tiring of it before OD lol.

@ForeverHopeful67 when is your FW due to start?

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/06/2020 12:54

This is how I feel @Juno231!! I'm in FW now and only done it once as due to ov Saturday I think. I don't wanna tire him out before we've got to the crucial day!! These men are so annoying lol!

MintGreenLife · 17/06/2020 16:06

AF just arrived, which means I had a three day luteal phase!! Normal is 14 days argh. I knew it was likely it would be short as I had horrendous nipple pain straight after ovulation and the same thing happened next month (although wasn't tracking ovulation) and AF arrived a few days after the sore nipples. My research points to low progesterone, and think it's totally normal for hormones to be badly unbalanced post-pill, but didn't even realise you could have that short a luteal phase! I've read two books about TTC now, and both say a short luteal phase cycle 1 & 2 after coming off the pill is highly likely, really hope it resolves itself soon :(

LottieX · 17/06/2020 16:50

@MintGreenLife I think you can take the positive that you did get a peak OPK this month! Fingers crossed your cycle settles next month.

I've started to read the inpatient woman's guide to getting pregnant, I'm only a few pages in and am tempted to research DHEA further. Has anyone taken this?

Juno231 · 17/06/2020 16:53

@mintgreenlife that's super frustrating! Maybe it would be worth taking agnus castus to help rebalance the hormones?

MintGreenLife · 17/06/2020 16:53

@LottieX thanks, I hope so. I confirmed ovulation with a temp rise for three days too, but then it shot back down again today and of course AF arrived. I should probably be pleased that I'm ovulating already, but without a 10+ day luteal phase I wouldn't be able to conceive. I'm going to follow all of the advice I've found on resetting your hormones post pill this month so fingers crossed this next cycle is better.

I loved that book, I'm onto 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility now' - not taken DHEA though I'm afraid x

@Juno231 I'm a little bit worried about doing too much at once. I've just started taking Pregnacare Conception, and am going to add in a B vitamin complex and vitamin C, as well as evening primrose oil until ovulation, not sure if I should do more than than in the next month, what do you think? Thing I worry about is not knowing if I need to carry on with any of it once actually pregnant, as think hormonal imbalances could return then, I guess the GP would tell me what's safe to stop and what I should carry on with :/

ReginaaPhalange · 17/06/2020 18:26

Still no AF. CD36! The longest it's been in 12 months (last July it was 37 days). Ended up taking a pregnancy test in the hope it would cause AF to show up... you know, that psychological feeling that you think it's your time but no, AF comes along.... so yeah, hoping for that to be my case lol!!!

For any new readers, I'm not pregnant as we have only DTD with condoms and this will be our first month TTC after AF...

Hey @Juno231 nothing exciting to report from me, AF finished yesterday so CD6 for me today, FW is due to start end of next week! - but I do have irregular cycles so we'll see!

How you getting on with your temping?

@MintGreenLife atleast AF is here now so you can get on with a new cycle and hopefully a more settled one for you 🤞 x

memily · 17/06/2020 23:31

I’ve had the strangest of days. I started ovulation testing again this morning , CD8 and got a peak straight away. Very odd. So I took another ovulation test this afternoon and it was still peak, and again this evening. I just couldn’t work out why it was peak on CD8, given that I didn’t peak until CD18 last month. There was this little voice in my head that persuaded me to do a pregnancy test, so I did... shocked is an understatement! So shocked, I took 2 tests! Don’t lose hope lovely ladies, strange things do happen!
Fingers crossed this little bean sticks and doesn’t get stuck in my Fallopian tube again! X

Huge congrats!! Bet you couldn't believe your eyes. So happy for you and will be keeping everything crossed ☺️

MintGreenLife · 17/06/2020 23:58

Thanks @ForeverHopeful67 I was slightly concerned at quite how short my luteal phase was, virtually nonexistent, but I've quickly recapped the books I've been reading and both of them say it's common in the first couple of months off the pill. Fingers crossed this cycle is better ☺️

OP posts:
memily · 18/06/2020 07:03

@MintGreenLife thank you! No I really can’t. It all feels so odd because AF had arrived... or so I thought. Just not like it usually is, but I didn’t think anything of it as I kept getting negative tests 🤷🏼‍♀️ Our bodies really just do whatever they feel like! 😂 good luck to you for this cycle. It will happen for you, stay positive. It can take a while for your cycles to even put after you’ve been on the pill x

notyetamumbuttrying · 18/06/2020 07:57

Wow @memily what a lovely surprise! Congratulations 🥳

memily · 18/06/2020 08:18

Thank you so much @notyetamumbuttrying ☺️ The biggest surprise!

MintGreenLife · 18/06/2020 09:07

Thanks that's so sweet of you ☺️ Hoping the extra effort with diet and supplements this cycle will pay off! Do you mind me asking if you had a proper bleed? Like normal length and heaviness? Sounds ridiculous but the slight silver lining to getting AF was that it seemed heavier than last time, which was more like spotting, but seems light again on CD2, thought the heavier bleed might be a good sign that my cycles are returning 🙈 X
