@Noble89 oh wow, it sounds really positive then so I definitely need to get aboard with this!! Will definitely try that next time.

I use clear blue ovulation tests too and try to do it as much as we can around the smiley faces! After a couple months you will get more of an idea with the help of the clear blue sticks! I'm irregular too after having the coil removed in Feb. Will be nice for it to just go back to normal!

Ah you drink it with lemonade too! So much nicer than tonic! 😂 such an enjoyable drink but makes it too easy to drink lots!

SmileyT · 26/04/2020 20:58

@babyG123 yep looks like you've covered most of your bases. Everything I've read online is that you just need to have regular sex to increase chances. I think SMEP is just a way to ensure couples don't have sex a few days in a row then have a few days without it and miss ovulation. Hopefully you've already done enough this month and don't have to worry next month xx

Noble89 · 26/04/2020 21:29

@SmileyT yes the owlet is probably going on my list too. And a wrap/newborn carrier of some description I think.

Yeah he said he felt loads better after getting out. Being cooped up in the house is no good. I start week 3 of the couch to 5k tomorrow so hope the weather isn't too bad this week. It's hard enough to drag myself out in the sunshine!

I love the idea of them but I just don't think you know until you try. I had a look and there's a nappy library in my area where you can pay like £20 and they'll lend you a supply for a few weeks to see how you get on which is a great idea! I think I'll probably end up doing both. Trying to cut down on disposables by using cloth ones maybe in the house but they do seem a bit less absorbent and bulkier than disposables so maybe I'll use disposables out of the house.

My friend uses a cup and she swears by it! I've been meaning to give it a try myself xx

Noble89 · 26/04/2020 21:31

@Panda789 yeah definitely give it a try if you don't get your BFP this month 😊

Yes! I don't really like the taste of alcohol but the raspberry gin and lemonade is like a fruity sort drink which is why I polished off half a bottle 😂

babyG123 · 26/04/2020 21:42

@SmileyT thank you I'll give anything a go!

SmileyT · 26/04/2020 22:02

@Noble89 yeah I'm quite a fan of the baby bjorn carrier and bouncer, also the boppy lounger, swaddleme and next2me cribs are on my list 😂 it's actually made me stress so much less just looking at the fun side of it.

In the house think I'd be fine with reusable nappies but can't imagine myself carrying a poo explosion round in my bag if I'm out for the day. It's definitely something for me to delve into a bit more though.

Good on you for doing couch to 5k, I did a 5k for charity a couple weeks ago and it nearly killed me 😓

I'm starting with my CB testing tomorrow because the app suggests it and want it to get a correct baseline, I'm actually excited xx

babyG123 · 26/04/2020 22:08

@SmileyT I highly recommend the snuz pod. Can't wait to get it out of storage again! 👶🏼🥰

KateColx · 27/04/2020 11:44

Morning lovelies.

How are you all feeling?

I'm intrigued, whats everyone's plan for testing? Will you be trying to hold off until a certain DPO or wait to see if AF is late? ☺️ x

Ltay2 · 27/04/2020 11:47

@KateColx Good morning! I am going to hold off as much as possible, definitely will wait until AF due date or later if possible. I haven't bought any tests yet and rather than stress the OH out having to buy them in shops (I am not going shopping at the moment) I will order online just need to find a reputable online store!

What's your plan?

1izzie · 27/04/2020 12:46

@KateColx I'm going to try and wait until AF is late - hopefully a few days after that! I just know I'd go crazy with testing and getting my hopes up!

KateColx · 27/04/2020 12:52

@Ltay2 @1izzie Ah you guys have got good will power!

To be honest I'd never thought about testing before AF, but after reading posts on here about people waiting to test at like 10 DPO I was wondering if that was the norm 😂 I bought some FRER tests last month so they're tempting me too haha.

I just got them from Amazon, if that helps?

Maybe I'll take some inspiration from you guys and hold out ☺️☺️ x

Ltay2 · 27/04/2020 13:00

@KateColx I've caved and bought some early detection cheapie tests! So weird that I now feel nervous 🙈 it's like I could pretend it wasn't real before as I didn't have any tests! I'm still planning on holding out until AF due as I don't want to give myself false hope/disappointment but at least I know I'll have them if needed.

KRK05 · 27/04/2020 13:19

@KateColx I'm gonna test a few days before AF cause the wait is killing me just so if I get a BFN I can relax a bit without wondering & just start to prepare for cycle #2. I got a very clear positive 6 days before AF the last time with a FRER so I'm pretty confident in those tests so if I get a negative chances are will be negative. AF is due the 7th so I'm thinking testing the 4th 😊 what's your plans?

SmileyT · 27/04/2020 13:25

@babyG123 yep I looked at the snuzpod aswell actually, obviously I'm far away from making a decision but it's fun to have a look.

@KateColx I shall be waiting until AF is at least a few days late. There are tests that you can find out early but it's down to your body, pregnancy doesn't really start until implantation so 6-10dpo (which means it wouldn't show on HPT until 8-12dpo) and there is a chance it could be a CP, which I'd rather not know about. But I'm only in first full cycle of trying so who knows what I'll be like after 6 months 😂

SmileyT · 27/04/2020 13:26

@KateColx where are you in your cycle now? AF due soon? X

Ltay2 · 27/04/2020 13:28

@KRK05 I think I may do the same as you if it comes to it. Going to hold off as much as possible but if I really want to I will test a couple of days early. I just want to know one way or the other but don't want to set myself up for unwanted disappointment if I was to get a negative due to doing it too early!

babyG123 · 27/04/2020 13:34

@SmileyT I'm with you on that. Today I have been researching prams! Haha

I'd need a double if happens within the year I'd say. Just discovered I can buy a double frame for my current pram and just use the seats on the frame. Genius 🤣🙈

It's ok to get excited with all the nervous!

KRK05 · 27/04/2020 13:52

@Layt2 Yeah I definitely wouldnt do it too early otherwise end up testing every single day to see if that negative becomes a positive then I think it takes the excitement away for just getting that blazing positive & being so happy with it so I would definitely try to hold out! I'm only testing a bit early cause I did in February & got a positive, then 48 hours was fainter so everybody says will be a chemical so I never tested again I got what I thought was my periods so was totally unaware & then turned out I was having an Ectopic Pregnancy & was 7 weeks so I'm obviously really cautious this time around that's why I'm testing early.

KateColx · 27/04/2020 14:41

@Ltay2 I don't think it's a bad idea to have some handy just in case, but it definitely does add temptation 🙈 which ones did you go for?

@KRK05 ah I know what you mean!! This is my first proper TWW and it's killing me already 😂 completely understand why you would want to know earlier as well with what happened last time. Fingers crossed for you ☺️

AF is due on the 8th, so I'm very similar to you! I'm wondering whether to test around 3rd/4th with the FRER if I can't wait 😬

@SmileyT I'm around 5/6DPO (2 different apps 🙄) with AF due around the 8th so still a little while to go yet! Haha this is my first proper cycle trying too! I don't think I'd have ever thought about early testing etc before but now I've reading all of these MN threads it's tempting me 🙈 x

KRK05 · 27/04/2020 14:52

@KateColx If u are testing early I do reccomend the FRER & it's hard not to when the TWW feels like months 😂 & yeah seeing everybody's posts from testing before AF due definitely does tempt u. Good luck for u this cycle 🙏🏼

Ltay2 · 27/04/2020 14:55

@KRK05 Totally understand why you would want to be cautious, so sorry you went through that.

@KateColx I went for one step ovulation tests which I've been using all along and they came with a few one step pregnancy tests. I've also ordered some early detection ones from Zoom Baby.

SmileyT · 27/04/2020 15:45

@KateColx I totally understand the desire to test early, as with everything in this TTC world it's about doing what makes you feel best. Some people like to be doing something so testing everyday from 9dpo until AF works, for me I think it'd get me down but there is no right or wrong, it doesn't change the outcome. Ahh you're in the nervewracking bit, trying not to look for symptoms but also thinking every fart might be an early pg sign 😂

I'm excited to start seeing some BFPs as we move into May this weekend ❤️

bribeard22 · 27/04/2020 15:57

Hello! Is it okay if I join? This is 2nd time ttc baby #1 I believe I just ovulated either yesterday or the day before. I'm fairly nervous because I didnt think it would be this stressful ttc? Trying not to make it stressful but it's kind of hard.

SmileyT · 27/04/2020 16:07

Welcome @bribeard22 how are you tracking ovulation? I'm ttc #1 and it can definitely get overwhelming but I've learnt from this group it's really good to enjoy the journey. If it takes a year you don't want it to be a year of sadness and anxiety 🙂 we've had fun discussing nurseries and baby names as a distraction from the hard bit of waiting ttc xx

KRK05 · 27/04/2020 16:34

@bribeard22 Hello, glad your joining us 😊 sending u lots of baby dust! Try not to stress, although that is easier says that done. I started this month determined I had to have that BFP by May & then symptom spotting so stressed myself out but the past few days I've relaxed a bit more convincing myself if it doesnt happen this month then on to the next cycle, it will happen when the time is right & I want it to be a lovely experience not every month spent googling every little twinge 😂 although I can see if somebody has been trying lots of months why it can be disheartening & I'm sure I would be the same. I agree with @SmileyT about making the journey enjoyable & positive 😊
