@SarahTTCx Oh & I'm due to ovulate Wednesday according to my app! We're pretty much 2/3 days out without each other for ovulation & AF!

SarahTTCx · 20/04/2020 00:15

@KRK05 sorry to hear about your ectopic pregnancy! Wishing you all the best this month!! It's so hard not to get obsessed with tests isn't it, whether it's ovulation tests or pregnancy tests i'm finding myself constantly tempted to POAS!

We are very close with our cycles, fingers crossed we're both getting the good news around the same time!!! This is baby #1 for us so it's all so new and exciting but also nerve wrecking. Sometimes feel so selfish when i'm disappointed at AF showing up as we've only been TTC 5 months and so many women have much longer and tougher journeys, but it's so hard not to be disheartened sometimes isn't it?

Plenty of baby dust being sent your way!!

Missgoldilocks · 20/04/2020 01:21

Hi ladies can I join please? This will be cycle 9 for me! Af is due on my birthday may 3rd! 😭 Hoping for a birthday present bfp instead!

@KRK05 so sorry to hear about your ectopic 🙏

KRK05 · 20/04/2020 01:37

@SarahTTCx Thankyou so much! It really is so hard not to, I'm not even close to timeframe to test yet & already I'm thinking about it 🤦🏼‍♀️ You're so right I feel so heartbroken reading peoples stories of TTC for such a long period of time, then I feel selfish that I'm only in my first month TTC & I'm desperate for it to happen.

@Missgoldilocks Thankyou so much, so kind! Hoping u get BFP for your birthday 🙏🏼

Lauren1288 · 20/04/2020 01:53

Can I join Smile

First month TTC baby #1

Been using the Clear Blue advanced ovulation tests which a LH surge as we speak!

What’s everyone’s thoughts on these OPK?

KRK05 · 20/04/2020 01:59

@Lauren1288 I have read great things from other girls about Clearblue ovulation tracker & all sounds positive & a lot simpler than the strips where u have to watch line get darker, those seem so complicated but maybe because I haven't used them before. When is your AF due? Lots of baby dust for u 🙏🏼

SmileyT · 20/04/2020 06:27

@Missgoldilocks is this your first? Hoping AF stays away and you get a lovely present in the form of a BFP instead.

@Lauren1288 this is my 2nd month TTC #1 and I got the CB connected half way through last month so I'm excited to be able to use it this month. I will be using the cheap opks alongside the CB just so I can see the progression as I get closer to peak aswell. Good luck over your fertile window and hoping you catch first month 🤞

MrsEmilyB · 20/04/2020 07:44

@SmileyT hi again 👋🏻 ahh glad he's ordered a few bits and bobs! What did you guys go for supplement wise? Don't forget the calc fluor is just for you if you've gone down that route. I've followed the advice of ingefleur on YouTube (a fertility homeopath) and i highly recommend you check her out! Her videos are fascinating.

Lauren1288 · 20/04/2020 08:54

@KRK05 - oh phew I’m glad people have ahead positive experiences using them, I was reading in another thread that they weren’t as reliable as the strip Confused. My AF is usually varies by a few days each month but based on being in the fertile window now it’s roughly around 2nd/3rd May, so fingers crossed for BFP 🤞🏼Sending baby dust to you too 💗

@SmileyT - what a great idea I might do the same next month if I don’t conceive this month and purchase some cheap ones to match against! Hope all goes well for you also this month, sending baby dust to you!

Happy Baby making all 😃

Missgoldilocks · 20/04/2020 09:58

@SmileyT thank you! I have an 8 year old from a previous relationship who was conceived super easy so this is all new to me! Month 1 to month 4 I was still quite positive but now it's hard to imagine being pregnant, sounds dramatic but I just didn't think I'd be trying for near on a year. Anyway hopefully this month I've done enough! I'm 1dpo today :) where are you in your cycle? I can see you're on month 2 and trying for your first, how are you finding it?

@KRK05I find the cheap opks difficult so I used to clearblue opks up to now they're a lot easier. Since I ovulate every month on cd15 though this month I ran out of the clearblue and I'll just use the cheapie now

kirinm · 20/04/2020 10:13

Hi

I guess May will be our 3rd month of trying but I'm pretty sure I've missed ovulation both months - I think I ovulated earlier than I assumed. I am due to test in a couple of days but pretty sure I'm not pregnant so will be trying again in May.

Does anyone else have a short cycle? Mine is 25-26 days and I've assumed I'm ovulating on Day 11 but I think it might actually be day 9/10.

SarahTTCx · 20/04/2020 11:33

@kirinm I have a cycle which is usually between 25-28 days so short to average. I've still never managed to get a true positive OPK though I think i'm still ovulating. Pretty sure I ovulate somewhere between CD14-CD16 but we just BD plenty from around CD8 onwards up until around CD20 and then we ease off.

LifeofReilly · 20/04/2020 11:50

The trackers in using suggested I am supposed to ovulate today however AF is here, so now think it may be around 7th may. AF can be pretty irregular anytime between 4-6 weeks so difficult to try and understand best timing. I am going to try and be very diligent this month with diet, exercise, supplements. I'm going to do an ovulation test every day after my period as can't seem to rely on apps and trackers. If anyone has any advice on anything else I can do, all suggestions are welcome. Fingers crossed for everyone.

LJ25 · 20/04/2020 11:54

Hey everyone :) Jumping on the May bus. First month TTC :)

Lovebug06 · 20/04/2020 12:32

AF has appeared today. As expected. Wishing the next few days over so I can get back to it and onto the next cycle.

gb000 · 20/04/2020 13:12

@Lauren1288 I've never gotten a proper "peak" result on a cheapie OPK, but I know I have ovulated at least once when that happened since it was confirmed by ultrasound. also this month my Clearblue found my peak whereas the cheapie sticks didn't (just got dark, never darker than the test strip) so I wouldn't set too much store by the cheap ones at least.

SarahTTCx · 20/04/2020 13:51

@LJ25 good luck with your first cycle! Fingers crossed it's not too long for your BFP! I'm onto cycle 5 now (although it's kind of cycle 4 as the first cycle we didn't really try, we just didn't NOT try).

Juno231 · 20/04/2020 14:02

@kirinm how come you're assuming early ovulation - do you get ECWM early perhaps as a clue? My cycles vary but are sometimes 24/25 days long. Ovulation seems to be at around CD13 (based on OPKs) so that way I know my follicular phase is long enough, but I sometimes worry 11 days for my luteal phase might be too short. Am only on cycle 4 though so will not try not to worry until further down the line!

Do you have a fitbit perhaps? I have a very clear spike in RHR when I ovulate (e.g. last cycle my RHR was 62 during AF and 72 for ovulation!) so could be worth checking that if you have it.

kirinm · 20/04/2020 14:09

@Juno231 yeah, I've been getting EWCM on day 10 for the last two months. And only day 10. If I am ovulating that early, it means my LP is 15/16 days which seems quite long!

I do have a Fitbit but I've never seen any correlation with ovulation. I wasn't tracking when I got pregnant with my daughter but I've looked back and didn't get a rise in RHR until I was 4/5w pregnant.

kirinm · 20/04/2020 14:10

Wow, that's a big jump in RHR @Juno231 - even when I was pregnant I didn't get a massive hike, it was gradual.

kirinm · 20/04/2020 14:15

Oh I've just read that a short follicular phase isn't a good thing. I think I'll have to try and start temping.

Noble89 · 20/04/2020 14:52

Hi Ladies,

I hope you don't mind me joining. I'm 30 and TTC (trying to conceive) baby number one. I started trying in June last year and got a BFP (big fat positive) in August so was lucky to conceive quite quickly. Unfortunately my 12 week scan showed the baby had died at week 7. I was later diagnosed as having had a partial molar pregnancy which is super rare and unfortunately can become cancerous so you have to go through a period of monitoring by specialists and during that time you can't try again. I've finally been told I'm free to try again but I'd missed my fertile window last month by the time they gave me the green light. I came on my period yesterday so this is cycle one for me. Ovulation is predicted to be the 8th of may and AF the 22nd if I don't get lucky.

Wishing you all luck xxx

Panda789 · 20/04/2020 15:29

@Noble89 I'm really sorry to hear of your loss. I'm also 30 and trying for baby number one. Sending you lots of baby dust xxx

KRK05 · 20/04/2020 15:43

@Noble89 Really sorry to hear your loss. Hope this is the month for u 🙏🏼 & all us ladies ☺

dizzypixie · 20/04/2020 16:10

Hi everyone, this is my first time ever joining a forum, but I’ve been following the April and May bus chats like a creepy stalker (I promise I’m not!) and it seems so nice to have other great women to share this experience with.

I’m 34 and this is sort of our first month TTC for baby number 1 (it feels a bit surreal writing that!) - we were not not trying last month, and I had loads of pregnancy symptoms (plus AF was super late) which meant I had a bit of a TWW experience without meaning to. It totally sucks that pms and pregnancy symptoms are so similar -feels like a cruel joke! AF is due 10th May, so fingers crossed she decides not to come...

Anyway, hello to everyone!
