Bring on the October BFP's

At the risk of jinxing myself by starting this thread I'm hoping it's actually quite therapeutic to let go of September. The next few weeks are all about bd'ing and for those in the same boat, we can start looking forward to an October full of BFPs.

After a 41 day cycle I'm back to CD1, anyone else care to join me?

Digitalgirl CD1 2nd cycle ttc #1

calebsmum · 24/09/2007 14:07

So then, who's testing this week?? With the size of the list surely at least a few of us should get a BFP! I'm ashamed to say me and DP have not BD once in the past 8 days! This is because DS has a throat infection and is in bed with us and also because i've been feeling 'odd' lately. Feeling dizzy, spaced out and a litle sick, but it's far too early for preg symptoms isn't it??

TwilightSurfer · 24/09/2007 14:23

Calebsmum could you be at least 7DPO? If so, you might be having preg symptoms. Or you could just be over tired as I am dealing with sick dd (in bed with us as well).

No testing here till 2Oct ... maybe 3Oct. I've a chol screen scheduled for 3Oct. They've got to take blood so I thought I might ask if they'd "do a bit extra" . I'm not ill but haven't had proper test in quite a long while. DH however has chol issues. Thought it would good idea to compare. Timed the test to work to my advantage .

If I'm BFP it will be OCTOBER before I'll know!!

Har27 · 24/09/2007 14:29

Calebsmum - wow, that sounds interesting! (The symptoms bit, not DD with sore throat and no bding )

SK - thank you for hoping! Did get another kit (though have broken the digital bit so back to staring at lines and wishing that the lines were governed by the same rule - ie a line is a line - as hpts!) Will give it one more month and if I'm still not ovulating (or no or ewcm, which I presume means I'm not) then I'm going to go and see my gynae and do a blood test. Very exciting that you're in the 2ww though. Am hoping you get a 'feeling' soon!

sweetkitty · 24/09/2007 14:36

TS - I am making myself not test until the 3 October at the earliest, AF due on the 4th. I know I will break this rule though I'm rubbish. I tested 5 days before AF was due last time. We could have a mass testing on the 3rd of October????

Har - the line opks are terrible I never know whether one line is darker than the other, I think thats a good idea use opks for another month and see how it goes

calebsmum · 24/09/2007 15:03

well have just tested and got a BFN, I also dropped the test down the toilet

sweetkitty · 24/09/2007 15:04

Calebsmum - you are worse than me you won't get a BFP on CD19, lol at dropping the test down the toilet thats why I have a special little wee container I was fed up peeing on my hands!

kirstygem · 24/09/2007 15:20

CD20 and still nothing on my ov sticks but did have lots EWCM last week so tried to BD as much as possible. Not sure if using the sticks wrong although they worked perfectly when TTC DD1. Think maybe was relying on them too much so might use EWCM as guide for future months if not successful. Very little BD at weekend as DD 1 teething and up frequently throughout the night.
It will be great when this thread gets their first BFP
Know its been discussed earlier on the thread but is the general thinking that if trying to coinceive a boy you BD early or late???

debinaustria · 24/09/2007 16:13

kirstygem - to conceive a boy you're "supposed" to bd on ov and after, with a girl you should bd before ov , then abstain!!
We were trying for a girl if poss but I've no idea when ov was so who knows!!!

Deb

fairysnuff · 24/09/2007 16:43

Just started a thread about EWCM.
How do you know if you are OV if the opk's keep coming back negative but you do get ewcm?
kirstygem you said you would rely on the ewcm?
It is only my 2nd cycle but it was not fun waiting until CD40, when it was always a 30 day cycle before DD, to then get AF
I know I shouldn't complain there are so many of you who have been trying for so much longer than me
I still BF DD twice a day but have not given her a morning feed for a couple of days now incase it is stopping my ov'ing?
Oh, maybe I shouldn't be asking the question in two seperate places? But it is on my mind.

ladylush · 24/09/2007 19:08

Hello everyone,

As usual I am going through the torturous 2ww hallucinating symptoms

Have been very good at drastically reducing my alcohol consumption (bit partial to a nice cold glass of white usually)and been going to the gym and swimming. Feeling very virtuous

Was wondering if anyone agrees that Sweetkitty should be crowned queen of the thread since she is so good at keeping in touch with everyone

pigleychez · 24/09/2007 19:43

Hi ladies,

Hope everyones ok??

well after my excitement of possibly ovulating I stopped getting ewcm after one day so im presuming i Ovualted yesterday. ( getting confused here? )

DH was extremerly tired last night and could hardly keep awake so he had the night off from BDing. Feel sorry for him what with me constantly grabbing him for bding but cant help feeling that ive missed out now (nonesence i know!!)
Plus have the horrible feeling that its not gonna happen his month..
Not sure why just do! Not even in the 2 ww yet!

Oh well,

Hope we get some BFP's soon... need some cheering up
Chez

sweetkitty · 24/09/2007 20:41

kirstygem - would echo what deb said, no sex until you ovulate, then erm deep penetration (from behind) apparently helps the swimmers on their way. Theres also diets you can try loads of red meat for a boy and cut out dairy, more potassium less calcium. Oh also theres a theory where you douche before sex with alkaline for a boy (bicarbonate of soda) or acidic for a girl (vinegar). I decided not to do anything to swing it as theres a theory that some men don't have a 50:50 ratio and it may be like 80:20 towards one sex, there was also a study in the BMJ that timing of sex made no difference to whatever one gets there first thats what I believe now. Not that I have read up about it you know

fairysnuff - I don't know about the ewcm and nothing on the opks, wouldn't have thought only two BFs a day would be stopping you ovulating. DD2 was conceived when I was still BFing DD1 the MW told me if you have 4 hours between feeds you will probably ovulate. I got AFs back 6 weks after DD1 was born though (don't want you thinking I got caught out that way)

ladylush - 2 ww officially sucks it's torture, I'm at the queen of the thread, maybe that means I never stop blabbing (which would be right)

pigleychez - don't worry too much about not BDing (difficult I know) it puts way too much pressure on you both, remember people get pregnant from one BD a month (I have 2 of the results sleeping upstairs and not BDing on CD14 either) theres always a chance.

Anyway enough gassing from me, my friend brought some lovely M&S chocolate bite things around today so may go have one or two.

TwilightSurfer · 24/09/2007 20:52

Sweetkittyy's correct Pigleychez it only takes one BD. My DD is proof positive. As for EWCM one day and gone the next, that seems to go along with my research following OV. Tried to scan back through thread posts to find who wrote about the sneaky EWCM....it can stay close to cervix so you never actually see it. So you may have had it sooner but didn't know it. As long as you BD at least 72 hour prior to when you think you OV, all should be good.

Fairysnuff will lurk around your thread later.

pigleychez · 24/09/2007 20:58

twilight
We have been bding every night since CD7! Last night was our only night off! Intend to keep going for a few days yet too.

Thanks for that, all hope is not lost! lol

Excitable · 24/09/2007 22:03

We've been BDing loads too. Felt a bit embarassed when they asked me at work what I did at the weekend and I got quite a graphic flashback as I said, "Oh, nothing much, you know bit of shopping, met some friends. Quiet really..."

Isn't there an advert like that, it's becoming like my life!

Have calmed down about my small cervix now, although thought I ought to just mention it to DH so it's not a nasty surprise in the consulting room for him. You would all have been proud of me airily saying to him, "Now, don't worry too much about this, but they might, OR MIGHT NOT, have to sew up my cervix if I get pregnant..." No hint of the panic I went through in the privacy of MN. Thanks girls!

welcome KD

pigley - I'm sure you will be fine then, it's actually recommended that you BD every 2 days when ttc as apparently every day waters the swimmers down. Your doing well I would be really fed up with every day

debinaustria · 24/09/2007 22:47

Welcome KD

I hope we get some bfp's soon, surely with this many people we should do!!

I feel like I'm out of it for this month, I feel premenstrual - got a spot today and they always come 2 days or so before AF. I've had 1 cycle of 28 days and 3 of 21/22 days since having the Mirena taken out so if it's a short cycle Af will be here soon.

Oh abbeymeg - so sorry you're back at the top of the list but don't worry you won't be alone for long I'm sure to join you soon. Then we'll both get our bfp's next month.
