Bring on the October BFP's

At the risk of jinxing myself by starting this thread I'm hoping it's actually quite therapeutic to let go of September. The next few weeks are all about bd'ing and for those in the same boat, we can start looking forward to an October full of BFPs.

After a 41 day cycle I'm back to CD1, anyone else care to join me?

+++Har - waves at cycle buddy wow I just started my CDB ov tests this morning, last preg I used EWCM as my indicator and BD'ed CD12, 14 and 16 and that did the trick. I reckon I ovulate about CD13-14 but I'm using the ov tests this month as it's my first cycle since the mc and TBH I don't think I can be that lucky and get preg first cycle 3 times on the trot.

loveverone - I can understand the having no friends thing, I have moved 3 times to different ends of the country and even workmates all seem to have their own friends and do their own things so you are stuck with just your DP/H. But don't dispair too much once you get pregnant you start to see faces down the antenatal clinic then they are in your post natal group then toddler groups. I'm not from this area but the amount of people I know from toddler groups is mad. I have some really good friends now and we go out at weekends minus the children too.

gardenangel - hi and welcome hopefully you will get the first BFP and that will open the floodgates for the rest of us

bucky - glad you found us of course you can be on two threads at the same time

Bucky2007 · 17/09/2007 13:49

Thepuddingchef...I too am amazed at late ov. How long is your cycle? I am on Month 4 and have assumed as you have that i would ov around CD13-16 based on the luteal phase being usually between 12-14 days and my cycle being usually 28 days. Now I am thinking that might be what I am doing wrong too. If no BFP this month I think I am going to get the sticks so I can pee on sticks too .

Thepuddingchef · 17/09/2007 13:55

bucky2007 - my cycle is 30 days without fail...oh well we'll have to see if this does the trick...as so far somethings not been going right!

calebsmum · 17/09/2007 14:00

Right have added myself to the list if thats ok?? Managed to BD last night even though the cat savaged my leg half way through and then ds woke up! Have ewcm so am hoping we've caught it this time!

Hi Bucky nice to see you here!

Puddingchef - I was wondering about that too as last month (first month ttc) I had lots of cm late in my cycle, didn't bd because it didn't seem so nice with so much cm, plus not really in the mood and secretly hoped it meant I was pregnant as had heard cm was a symptom... now (unpregnant and better informed!) I'm wondering whether it was the wonderful fertile, go-do-it-now ewcm that everyone talks about.

Hello Sweetkitty, my lovely cyclebuddy! Nice that we're peeing on sticks in tandem too now

Har27 · 17/09/2007 14:02

Calebsmum hehe about cat. It's amazing what we'll go through to get that lovely BFP

sweetkitty · 17/09/2007 14:04

Puddingchef - I BD once on CD18 and got DD2 which I was :O at as I have a 28 day cycle no problem and always thought I ovulated on CD13-14 but maybe it does change cycle to cycle, also what about fraternal twins, I have a friend whose twins were dated 5 days apart at a scan so she must have ov'ed twice that month.

Just means you have to BD a lot more I am sure men designed a womans body, if a woman had designed it our eyes would change colour when we ovulate and the minute the egg was fertilised our ears would go blue!!!!

AbRoller · 17/09/2007 14:18

talk about a fright...

...I decided to start using the ov sticks today. The pack I bought had five sticks and a free pg test. So I'm in the bathroom having peed on the stick and waiting for the five minutes. I decide to read the leaflet in the box whilst I'm waiting. Happen to look down at the test and see 2 lines and so go the the bit of the leaflet where it shows in pictures what the test lines mean...I nearly fell over, I had been reading the leaflet for the free pg test and in bold writing it says pregnant! It took me a few seconds to realise I was reading the wrong leaflet but they were the longest few second in history

Thepuddingchef · 17/09/2007 14:23

fraternal twins - wow that must have been a shock!
LOL sweetkitty!! 'I am sure men designed a womans body, if a woman had designed it our eyes would change colour when we ovulate and the minute the egg was fertilised our ears would go blue!!!! '

so very true
Calebsmum - cats don't ya just love them!

josey · 17/09/2007 14:45

Hello all

Im back and just about made it alive lol!

Havent managed to read though all the posts yet so hope everyone is fine.

Ive been feeling really hormonally strange, 100% sure its down to ov. Started on Friday CD13 and still going on though fading a bit. Got a sneaking afternoon BD in on Friday afternoon, I just couldnt control myself any longer and it had nothing to do with dates or babies as it happend it was in the spare room that the lo would end up in, we both chuckled about it after we realised. Was hoping for another few attempts over the weekend but DH hasnt been to good with athsma.

Anyway better get going. Will catch up properly.

PennyBenjamin · 17/09/2007 14:56

Afternoon all, and hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Well, after a week of twice daily BDing, we are now totally exhausted! Poor DH, he thought he was going to get some rest, but on Saturday I got a high on my Clearblue monitor, and we were off again, including an aborted attempt by me to drag him back to our hotel in the middle of a wedding reception we were at!

Anyway, think I am now post-ov, so we can get some sleep. Into the 2WW though, which is nerve-wracking.

Interesting people talking about ov being later than you'd thought - for me is the opposite, had been thinking I was ovulating around 14/15, but actually this month it was CD12, so I'd probably been missing it before. Hence starting a week early this time!

loveverona · 17/09/2007 15:15

Hi thepuddingchef! How lovely to have a cycle buddy! Looking forward to comparing notes as we go along....
GardenAngel14 - I work from home too! I'm actually finding it a god-send at the moment because it takes my mind off things to a certain extent. Until I start MNing! BUt I know what you mean, you don't get to meet people that way. But I've been in touch with NCT to find out about local groups so hopefully things will start to develop.

digitalgirl · 17/09/2007 15:24

abroller lol at the almost bfp! but does two lines mean you're ov'ing? shouldn't you be 'doing it' right now?! early night for you me-thinks. I'm going to do an ov test tomorrow morning, as I think I've just had a bit of ewcm. CD10 is a lot earlier than I was expecting.

OP posts:
AbRoller · 17/09/2007 15:30

DG, that'll teach me!

No, there were 2 lines alright but one stronger than the other and apparently that means still no LH surge. Will be jumping dp anyway just in case

debinaustria · 17/09/2007 15:37

Hi all

I think I ovulated around cd9 according to the ewcm!

Loveverona - I moved to Austria from the UK and making friends has been the hardest thing. It does get better(slowly)

Deb

ladylush · 17/09/2007 15:56

ROFL abroller - I can just picture you sitting there with an utterly bewildered expression

I bought the Toni Weschler book today and the Zita West one. Particularly interested in the nutrition bit. I am reluctant to say that I have given up alcohol but I am doing well as I had none at the weekend and will not drink tonight. Will allow myself a binge when the evil witch appears in a couple of weeks. Also trying to cut out caffeine. Don't smoke so that's one less thing to give up. Also eating more wholegrains.

looneytune · 17/09/2007 17:18

If you've been on the Sept thread at all you'll see that I've had a bit of a day and to top it all......AF just arrived. Actually pleased as it's only CD26 and last month I had a 32 day cycle so better to get it out of the way!!!

Sooooooooo, I've added myself to the list.

Hi looneytune sorry AF arrive , but lucky you with a short cycle . welcome to the ever-growing october thread. looks like there's going to be a lot of summer babies next year!

OP posts:
josey · 17/09/2007 18:49

Right think I have caught up.

Abroller that is hysterical, did you have a cold sweat?

Excitable, I know what you mean, its almost like your body is having a party at being a woman again without suppressed hormons, Im rampant just now and Im sure its ovulation

I also have just moved house 5months ago have made a good friend with a neighbour though, and hey im now 2 and half hours away from MIL might have to stay the odd weekend but Im not 10mins away anymore.

Have had EWCM that last couple of days and more today, also getting cramps in 2 areas of my tummy, its like I can feel where my ovaries are if that makes sense??

DH has just announced while clearing up the tea he is taking me to bed early to ravish me no bding pressure in my house then.

While I have just been reading this my DD has just made me very broody so I will share - she just turned 2 a fortnight ago, and is going up and down the stairs counting
(one, toe, fee, fo, fuz, sic, seven, aht, ten) hasnt mastered sticking a nine in yet but its so cute, hope you understand my attempt at baby language.

Must go its bath time and DD now climbing on PC

Piggley · 17/09/2007 20:15

Good evening, feel that I have been away for ever instead of just a busy weekend.

Nightmare on Friday night, DH (mad, passionate england rugby fan, we met at twickenham rugby stadium on valentine's day about one hundred years ago) popped to the local to watch england play S.A. at seven thirty pm. I next saw him at four am v sad (we lost horribly) but still wanting to give it a go (BD). I was so worried about his v compromised sperm that I said no. Will be furious if I don't get BFP just because England played crap!!

I now have a list of about twenty girls names (I have 2DS and trying girls method,) but only two on my boys list (Zac and Freddie) yet again I am getting ahead of myself but I just can't help it!

MIL has invited us round for XMas (she likes to get in early) hope I have something to tell her. P x

Good luck to one and all! x

MissusH · 17/09/2007 20:44

Hi All,

Can I join in?? Was on the spring baby thread and am sort of on the summer bambino thread but feel positive thinking (pun totally intended) is needed so why not narrow it down to October?

Have added myself to the list (af came today ) but knew it wasn't going to happen this month due to dh's unearthly working patterns...

looks like I am going to have to set my alarm for 4am every other day to catch the window of opportunity between dh getting home & dd waking up - yikes)
