That looks a strong positive deffo would be jumping hubby at every chance! @ArjaD it's all this panic buying is making everyone crazy but because they are panic buying there's nothing left for anyone else so now the whole of the world feels the need to panic buy or they won't get anything!

MayDay27 · 13/03/2020 12:03

Hi guys can I join? It's out first time TTC. I've been on the forum a little while but I've seen how much it helps having people to talk to going through the same thing! Ovia says my fertile window starts tomorrow. Could I ask a couple of questions! What is 4dp or a number then dp? Also I have bought some sticks to test ovulation but not sure how they work! Do you wee into something and then put them in or just wee on them?! They don't come with instructions! I came off the pill in November to let my body get use to it and seem to have fairly regular periods, it's all so much more confusing than I remember it from high school sex education!!

Maidmummy · 13/03/2020 12:15

@MayDay27 dpo stands for days past ovulation and in regards to the ovulation tests you want to wee in a clean cup/container dip the test for the amount of time it says on the instructions wait the amount of minutes is says to wait and if it's positive the test line needs to be darker or the same darkness as the control line, negative is if the test line is lighter than the control line, hope that helps x

FYI I posted my positive ovulation test above have a look x

Maidmummy · 13/03/2020 12:17

Just read you have no instructions so assuming they are just the strips I'd dip them for around 10 seconds then read the result within 10 minutes x

NicoleR14 · 13/03/2020 13:09

@mayday27 I had my implant removed in October and had no clue what to expect when ttc I do have 2 older sisters who have had children my second oldest had twins and they were both unplanned pregnancy's so when I started ttc I had no one to turn to apart from mumsnet (not just because of them having unplanned pregnancys but I don't talk to one of them and barely communicate with the other and they have no idea that I am ttc!) and these lovely ladies have helped so much I used ovulation sticks for my first 2 cycles and they did help I used a jug pee'ed into it and dipped one in until I seen the dye starting to run and left it for 5 mins before checking I found that worked best for me I used them 3 times a day from CD 9 to CD 20 just to make sure I covered my fertile week as I have cycles that vary between 31-35 days your dpo (days past ovulation) is the day after your positive ovulation stick alot of people use the apps to tell them when they are ovulating I've done that this month I should be ovulating today but I feel like I did a few days ago so I'm not counting how many dpo I am this month I found when I did that last time I wasn't as stressed on symptom spotting during the tww! Apart from that and checking my cm (cervical mucus) ive had no luck yet! How long have you been tracking your cycle for?

Sungirl11 · 13/03/2020 13:29

Hi girls! You have been chatty today! I can see new people around so welcome!!
I do think this group helps us a lot ease the desperation... at least mine!
My af is due tomorrow, i don't have any symptoms but i am extremely tired and low in energy... so she is around the corner!
We are in Thailand! We got here this morning (local time) and have bee resting a bit and hanging around my dads.
Tomorrow we're off to the beach Grin
How are you all doing?

MayDay27 · 13/03/2020 14:34

Thanks for the info on the sticks I'll try it out tonight! I've been tracking from the end of December which is when I had my first period after having stopped the pill and having a withdrawal bleed. I think I've been pretty regular as in I have had a period around the end of each month since December. How would I work out the length of my cycles? My last period end of Feb was longer than usual but I know it can take a while to get back to being regular, I've been on contraption for maybe 12 years so I don't know what's normal anymore!

NicoleR14 · 13/03/2020 14:41

@mayday27 I have the my period calender app and that tells me what CD I am on and when I'm due to ovulate and how long my cycles is your cycle starts from the first day of your period which silly enough I didn't know until I started to track them and the day your next period starts is the end of your cycle but the start of your new cycle when I log on when my next period starts it automatically saves how many days that cycle was for me! I like that one more than I do any others!

Thanks NicoleR14 (I'm sorry I'm not sure how to tag people's user names!) I just did a stick test before and got this... (see photo) could someone say what they think it means!

Second thread for ttc!
NicoleR14 · 13/03/2020 22:39

@mayday27 that's negative! If you download the premom app it let's you upload photos of your ovulation sticks and it tells you if they are neg or pos x

OP posts:
MayDay27 · 13/03/2020 22:45

Thank you, just downloading the app now! It says on my fertility app that I will start my fertile window tomorrow, if that's correct when should I start seeing positives?

NicoleR14 · 14/03/2020 09:06

They should be getting darker from today onwards they get a bit darker each day until I'd say 2 days before your predicted ovulation then you should get bright pink likes! But sometimes it can vary they go from being almost positive to negative to near positive again until you get your blazing positive!

OP posts:
Maidmummy · 14/03/2020 09:12

@MayDay27 with the ovulation test most women usually see a fade in pattern where the line gradually gets darker every day until they get an unmistakable positive, how many times a day do you test and me personally I don't stop testing after what I think is a positive, I got a positive on CD 16 both lines were exactly the same colour but turned out it wasn't my surge as I kept testing and got a blazing positive on cd20 and the next day my cervix was SHOW and had all my usual ovulation pains so I would advise just to keep testing, good luck x

I'm officially in the 2ww woop woop, 9 days to testing time , let the 'i know it's only progesterone but I don't care" symptom spotting commence Grin x

MayDay27 · 14/03/2020 09:19

Maidmummy I've only tested once so far yesterday and I think it was negative, I'll post a photo (could someone also let me know how to tag people?) my Ovia app says my fertile window starts today and I am most fertile on Tuesday, does that then mean I should see my most positive ovulation test on the Tuesday? I am a bit overwhelmed with all the info! Fingers crossed for you in 9 days!! I've read a lot about the TWW but have never been in one I know I'm going to be so impatient!

MayDay27 · 14/03/2020 09:19

My negative test yesterday
