@paintfairy ha yes but through my fitbit so takes no effort on my part!

MrsTwentyEight · 05/08/2020 20:18

Oh man now I'm obsessing over my resting 88 HR haha @paintfairy @Juno231

paintfairy · 05/08/2020 20:25

@MrsTwentyEight we've got a blood pressure thing that takes your heart rate. I'm tempted to try it! I'm not sure what resting means though? How long do you need to have been sat for?

MrsTwentyEight · 05/08/2020 20:34

I believe as long as you're not exerting yourself, its considered resting? eg ..sat down on sofa

paintfairy · 06/08/2020 15:33

@MrsTwentyEight My heart rate today is 70. Which tells me nothing because I've nothing at all to compare it to. Confused 🤣

Did you test? @Juno231

Juno231 · 06/08/2020 23:32

@paintfairy I did! Such a BFN 😅. Totally expected it though. Cycle 8 it is!

MrsTwentyEight · 07/08/2020 07:11

@Juno231 was it a FRER ? Not out till AF! Remember that!
9DPO BFN on a cheapie for me 😂

Juno231 · 07/08/2020 08:06

@MrsTwentyEight it was indeed a FRER 😅
Fingers crossed for you for the next few days x

paintfairy · 07/08/2020 08:45

@Juno231 ffs. How hard can it be? 😂
Really annoys me how some people it just happens for. Why are those people not us?

Enjoy your time away though. At least you can get drunk and forget about it! Onwards and upwards x

MrsTwentyEight · 09/08/2020 08:41

@Juno231@paintfairy 11DPO today BFN on cheapie ...looks like it’s August bus for me too! 😕

paintfairy · 09/08/2020 08:44

@MrsTwentyEight oh no, rubbish. I'm sorry, keep plodding on? At least you aren't on your own. It's frustrating though.

MrsTwentyEight · 09/08/2020 15:24

@paintfairy I know you’re right. I wish I didn’t feel so disappointed every time. Or spend time googling whether 11DPO is too early to test (every.single.time)

paintfairy · 10/08/2020 14:06

@MrsTwentyEight I don't get as upset now. But it is disappointing.

I've been thinking. Lol. Do any of you dtd after the fertile window has passed? @Juno231

We don't really. We start early after AF. But although we carry on until I'm sure the FW has ended (by temp) we never seem to do it after that really. I had one month (jan) where we did. And I had strange cramps and bleeding that month (technically 10dpo) that I've never had before or since. I put it down to it being a bad idea to dtd around implantation time. But what actually if its quite the opposite? And dtd later is actually what I need to be doing?

This month we kind of have. We dtd Tuesday (possibly ovulated Sunday or even that day) and then again last night. But we still missed the middle. Its just hard to keep it up all the time. But I'm beginning to wonder if I'm timing it wrong and following what is 'supposed' to happen and missing when I should be doing it?!

Juno231 · 10/08/2020 14:20

@paintfairy OH is dead after FW so we tend to pick it back up after AF pretty much. I've seen plenty about DTD around implantation potentially interrupting implantation (although it seems a bit fringe/unlikely) but don't see how DTD could be helpful? Doesn't hurt to try though!

@MrsTwentyEight have you tested again?

My AF did that thing again where I thought it started on Sat but I think was just heavy spotting in the end. Had nothing on Sun and had an even bigger temp drop today with actual AF showing up. That means I've had a 31 day cycle which is my longest yet since I came off the pill in Oct!

paintfairy · 10/08/2020 14:28

@Juno231 I was more thinking that I've read about people ending up pregnant when completely avoiding the FW. And therefore by doing it only then it'll never happen, if you are one of those people who's body 'don't follow the rules' as it were? So if you only dtd during fw you'll never actually become pregnant.

But yes- trying to carry on is a struggle a agree. Not enough hours in the day!

Juno231 · 10/08/2020 14:40

@paintfairy hm but do you reckon those are people who don't bbt and therefore don't know when they ovulate? I've seen a few on here who realised several months in for instance that their peak OPKs were actually just a first surge and therefore they kept missing their actual ovulation.

paintfairy · 10/08/2020 14:46

@Juno231 I've no idea. I just think we maybe don't work like clockwork. And so many people seem to manage it by accident. That by us timing it to that week is the actual reason we are failing? That's why i wondered if either of you dtd after. Because if you said yes, I'd think it can't be that. But if none of us ever do then it makes me wonder, is all.......

MrsTwentyEight · 10/08/2020 19:15

@Juno231 I tested today but I didn’t even do it properly as I had no faith ....didn’t use a sample cup like I needed to for the internet cheapie ...BFN regardless on 12DPO so I’m out for the month. Pretty sure AF will show her ugly face on Wednesday on time😖

@paintfairy you’re right and I was thinking the same. I always stick to the FW and I really should stop. I tell myself every month that we will DTD every 2-3 days and forget the FW but this never happens. Seriously going to attempt this in August but my worry is burn out during actually FW. But the more the sperm is replenished ...the better anyway right 👀 Ahh who knows! Maybe it’s just not our time just yet....

MrsTwentyEight · 10/08/2020 19:16

How was Holland @Juno231 ?? Are you still there ? Sorry I forget what the plan was.

paintfairy · 10/08/2020 20:58

@MrsTwentyEight yeah same. Every month I've thought we need to do extra days but it is difficult. All I'm thinking is I've been at it since December doing it the 'right' week and it's never worked yet. And this is the only thing I haven't tried. 🤣

Juno231 · 11/08/2020 09:24

@MrsTwentyEight It was epic - came back yesterday tanned and rested :) The beaches were gorgeous and our friend's ground are insane so we had such a good time.

Also girls let's not forget that sperm lives for 5 days so even if you stop DTD after OD you'd still be covered for another 5 days of TWW. I'd think it would be highly unlikely to be conceiving in the final week before AF and that's pretty much the only bit not covered by us :)

It just takes some time, 8 months is perfectly normal for my age for instance - the average is 6 months at my age bracket for instance!

MrsTwentyEight · 11/08/2020 10:08

Ahh that’s amazing @Juno231 , glad you had a great time!!
And you’re right really. I think a year is normal for my age so we are all just worrying a lot I suppose.

Juno231 · 11/08/2020 10:17

@MrsTwentyEight I mean I can't blame us when everyone else seems to get pregnant at the drop of a hat! Did I tell you I was meant to go to a wedding on the Aug bank holiday but it got cancelled in June and so they decided to TTC instead? She literally got pregnant that same month. I am happy for them but also so not impressed lol Grin

paintfairy · 11/08/2020 12:03

@Juno231 Glad you had a good time! Sounds amazing!

Well my dh is old. So maybe his sperm doesn't live 5 days. 🤣 Who knows! And yeah I'm old so I know it can take forever. But like you say- others manage it and then you are like- eh? How! Someone at work started in like Feb. Already half way through pregnancy. She's a few years younger than me but she's still 34. Instant. 🙄

Juno231 · 11/08/2020 13:16

@paintfairy haha bet her OH only looked at her and BAM! My friend specifically avoided FW so as not to get pregnant yet somehow still did. Others can tell me exactly what day their baby was conceived cause they only DTD'd once during their FW (assumed FW btw, no tracking involved obviously!). So many of my friends don't even know you can test before AF is late as they got pregnant so quickly they never had to look into any of this stuff. Very frustrating that these are then the people who tell me to relax...
