tigerchick What a shitty shitty day. Sorry xxxx

nh101 · 24/09/2007 11:14

Oh Tigerschick, sorry things are so crappy. Positive vibes to you for this month...

I am OK, I keep forgetting I am PG which is the best way really. I have booked a scan at the EPU for three weeks today when I will be seven weeks gone exactly (cos I had a mc they will scan me early). And they said if I have any bleeding or pain to go in sooner. I hope I won't need to.

tigerschick · 24/09/2007 11:46

Thanks ladies. Trying to keep busy and jumping like mad every time the phone rings incase it's more bad news!

nh101 - really hoping that you don't need to call them sooner. Fingers crossed that everything continues to go very well - 3 weeks is no time at all

flosspot · 26/09/2007 18:45

Tigers- so sorry you are having a sucky time. Sending you as much baby dust as pip and I can muster.

Hello to Lulu, nomore and the other usual suspects. Doing the whole belly-rubbiing thing for you (and myself) on an hourly basis!

OP posts:
tigerschick · 27/09/2007 12:12

Hi floss - thanks for the baby dust. On CD3 and day 2 of 2nd cycle Clomid here so getting towards the 'busy' time for me and dh

The crapness persists tho as my Grandma, despite improving for a couple of days, died this morning. So we've got a funeral to take dd to next week. Feeling a bit shitty but managing to hold it together for now, not sure how I'll do when I speak to my mum later tho.

flosspot · 27/09/2007 17:06

Oh dear Tiger- I am so very sorry for your loss. Please know that we are all thinking of you, and are all here for you.

Beena · 28/09/2007 14:11

Hi girls I have just been precriced clomid and will be starting next week when AF arrives. Not taken it before and a bit nervous but can you add me to your OCtober thread when you start it? Seems like it is working for some of you girls getting your BFPs. Here's to hoping it works for us all by christmas. What a nice pressie that would be. We've bee ttc no.1 for 14 months.

wizzywig · 28/09/2007 18:39

hi all, im new to this thread. i'll be starting on clomid for baby no 2 when my period arrives. i got my prescription today and annoyingly my period that was already 2 weeks late decided to start last week so i have to wait a month. poo!!! bring on the mood swings and weight gain, hurrah!!! p.s big big congratulations to the two new mums flosspot and nh101. fingers crossed you have a fab pregnancy and a bootiful baby at the end of it all. so excited for you two, xxxx

tigerschick · 30/09/2007 20:42

Evening all

Awen and Floss - thanks. It's all a bit weird at the mo as I am a long way away and feel very 'out of it'. When my Nanna died I was with my Grandad and helped to organise everything, registered her death and everything. So now, not being involved feels really strange and it hasn't sunk in. Or at least, it hadn't until last night when I spoke to my mum properly for the first time. She was very tearful on the phone and it was very hard. But my db was there today and he said that she seemed OK and had a little cry on his shoulder after lunch so I feel a bit better about her now - She's trying to be strong for my Grandad but needs to greive herself.

Anyway ...

Welcome Beena and Wizzywig Hope you are both very successful on Clomid. Do you know why you are being given it? It seems that people are given it for lots of different reasons, many of them in evidence on this thread! And that the levels of monitoring vary massively from area to area. Anyway - good luck, I hope it doesn't have any side effects for you, like me.

Oh - and another thing ... typically, my Grandma's funeral is the same day as my next scan. So I have to phone in the morning and try to change it ... wish me luck

wizzywig · 30/09/2007 20:47

hi tigerschick, sorry to hear you are going through a hard time right now. im on clomid as i dont ovulate and i'll be getting my scans starting from day 12. im hoping i wont need to stay long on clomid this time as i dont think my husbands car can take it (i reversed into it when i went nuts cos i thought he said i was fat). so he isnt looking forward to it but it'll be worth it.

tigerschick · 01/10/2007 07:57

Wizzywig - so, I'm guessing Clomid doesn't agree with you too much... have you been on it before then? I'm lucky that I don't get bad side-effects, tho I think there is something in the spotty question someone asked a couple of weeks ago! So you are being scanned like me. Yet some people are having blood tests and others don't seem to be having anything ... I guess we all have slightly different reasons for taking it so we'll all have different kinds of support.

tigerschick · 01/10/2007 09:53

Phew - managed to change my scan to Monday lunchtime ... just got to move my detal appointment now! That'll be the third time it's been moved! Ah well, lucky it's just a check up!

Beena · 01/10/2007 10:29

We are on month 15 ttc no 1 and no joy so far. Day 21 results low so docs think I'm not OV properly or at all so being put on 50mg from days 2-6 for 3 cycles to see how I get on. Am really quite nervous about it and the possible side effects. Also, does it make you produce more than one egg per cycle or just the one egg? I really don;t know much about it! I haven;t been offered scans just another day 21 test to see if it is making me OV or not. I start my first tablet tomorrow. Eeeek! Here's hoping it works for us all.

What does were you/are you all on?

tigerschick · 01/10/2007 10:46

Hi Beena - I've just finished my second course of 50mg, days 2-6 like you. I have PCOS and Clomid doesn't always work for it. So I'm being scanned on CD14 to see if it has made any difference. It didn't do anything last month so I'm being scanned again this month and if there is still no change I'm being put onto a stronger dose. I don't know if I would be being scanned again this month if it had worked properly last time tho.

There is a slightly higher risk of more than one egg being released but I think that it depends on your condition as to whether it is a big enough risk to make scanning worth while, IYSWIM.

Quite a few people like to use some kind of OPK as well as waiting for their gp to check on them, as there is no guarantee that you will ov when they think you will - see Awen's post Sun 02-Sep-07 00:14:09 for an example!

Beena · 01/10/2007 11:01

Thanks Tigerschick for replying to me and my million queestions. I realy hope you get your BFP soon.

Am a bit worried about clomid drying up any cm i have (I don't tend to have much) - I have been taking 3000mg evening primrose oil between day 1 and OV up to now and it seems to be helping make more cm - can I take this with Clomid? there seems to be conflicting reports when I google it. Also, any other tips of things to do whilse on clomid would be so much appreciated.

tigerschick · 01/10/2007 14:03

Hi Beena - no worries, I should tell you tho that almost everything I know about ttc was told to me by people on here, I have no professional knowledge. I don't know anything about Evening Primrose but a lot of people recommend drinking grapefruit juice (pink works as well as white and is a little more pallatable) or using pre-seed if you think you don't have enough cm. I drink grapefruit juice but have no idea if it is making any difference or not!

Hope everyone else is well and happy today

Beena · 01/10/2007 14:38

Thanks again - I hate grapefruit juice but have been drinking that too and will carry on while taking clomid then. The things we do to try and help our little BFPs along hey!

MamaMaiasaura · 01/10/2007 22:11

How did the scan go tigerschick?

tigerschick · 02/10/2007 09:54

Hi Awen - it's not til next Monday, you're wishing the time away, not that I blame you! Hope all is going well with you and your bean, how much longer have you got to go?

MamaMaiasaura · 02/10/2007 11:18

Am 27 weeks now (just entered 3rd trimester) I cannot believe where all the time has gone!

Keeping fingers x-d for your scan on Monday. How are you doing? xx

tigerschick · 02/10/2007 12:42

Wow - 27 weeks!! Can't believe it is that long, I clearly remember you getting yout BFP!
I'm doing OK thanks. Got a busy few days coming up; my parents are visiting Thursday to Friday to look after dd while I go to work on Friday. Then it's PIL's 40th anniversary on Sunday, my scan on Monday and the funeral on Tuesday! Think I'll need a long sleep some time next Wednesday! And all of this across my, supposedly, fertile time! Typical

wizzywig · 02/10/2007 15:24

hi all, can someone tell me what BFP means? tigerschick: i was on clomid for 5 months to get pregnant with my son whose now 9 months old. when he was 6months old i went to my GP and asked to have a day 21 test taken just to see whether i would need to have fertility treatment again. in the first day 21 test my progesterone was 3, when i did another one in the following month it was 4. so thats why i'll be back on clomid (100mg a day) as soon as my period starts again. but im trying reflexology aswell to see whether it has any effect. i guess it cant hurt and i feel great afterwards.

is everyone here trying for their first baby?

MamaMaiasaura · 02/10/2007 15:27

woah, sounds really hectic. You have a lot to deal with atm, you never know tho, as you wont be 100% concentrating on conceiving it might happen. Jump him each night

I cant believe how time has flown too. I stil lurk here as understand what you are all going through. Cant wait to see you all get your positives too.

Also I know that in the future I am likely to be back ttc number 3

tigerschick · 02/10/2007 15:48

Awen - hmmm, every night hey ... I think I might be able to convince him of something along those lines

Wizzywig - BFP stands for Big Fat Positve - on a pregnancy test, clearly! I, too, am ttc#2. My dd was conceived naturally but took over 3 years of trying. DH and I decided that, for #1, we wouldn't go for any tests, if it happened, it happened, we thought. But now we don't want dd to be an only child if we can help it. Now I know I have PCOS I realise how lucky I was to conceive first time 'round!
