@Crumbsinthecarpet aw sorry to hear that would be tough 💔 🤞🏼 for this month a bfp and a sticky bub!
My son will be 1 in Feb & I'd love to continue BF through pregnancy and upto around 2, my brother and I are 21 months apart and I have the fondest memories from growing up and we're still great mates!

Aimy1 · 05/01/2020 09:51

Hiya, hope I am ok to join. I came off my pill the other december. I havent even had a withdrawal bleed. Normally I do if I miss a pill. But nothing. Weve been having regularly unprotected. I'm going mad doing test which are all negative. I've been having a lot of discharge this last week and I tested positive on an ovulation test yesterday. Last night I had the worst cramps in the bottom of my stomach. I could barely stand. Expected to see my period this morning but still nothing! Still have pains now but not as bad as last night. Could I be pregnant but to early? If I dont get my period in the next few days, when do you suggest I do a test?

urbansloth · 05/01/2020 09:54

@threnody have you taken another FRER or are you waiting a few days?

ChampooPapi · 05/01/2020 10:10

Hey jumping non the January bus 🌈

Trying for number 3 , 33 in April

I also had a miscarriage and surgical management on the 22nd of October @Crumbsinthecarpet and I .very ready to be pregnant again now.

Been dtd like crazy so can only keep the hope and faith it'll work out 🙏

OneStepSideways · 05/01/2020 10:41

Can I join?

Day 3 of period today, and I’ve taken my first Clomid tablet.

Threnody · 05/01/2020 11:03

@urbansloth I'm out of frers now, going to wait a day or two and try my clear blue.

urbansloth · 05/01/2020 11:54

@threnody I'm too excited for you 😂

Welcome @ChampooPapi, @OneStepSideways and @Aimy1 👋🥰

@champoopapi I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Fingers crossed 2020 brings you some more positive news 💐

I posted earlier but for some reason it hasn't come up. AF has gone and I took my first OPK today just out of curiosity. The line is already quite dark. Not a positive but I'm new to using OPKs so is it normal to have this kind of result this early? I'm only on CD6! 🧐 Help me out ladies!

January bus!
Lnix · 05/01/2020 11:57

Would like to join too if poss? Trying for #2. Been 6 months with no joy so far. Quite a shock as our first was just one night when we threw caution to the wind! Realise we were very lucky that time but six months of trying has me feeling a bit desperate! I'm 34 and my husband is 35. Our daughter is already 4...all I can see is a huge age gap ahead! Day 3 of AF this month. Does everyone do opks or does anyone do the "every other day" thing?...(not sure what the shortened form of that is!)

Lnix · 05/01/2020 12:03

@urbansloth when I get an opk like this I take it as a sign I'm revving up for ovulation and in my fertile window. Maybe you ovulate earlier than you think? Or perhaps the result is darker than it usually would be if you haven't drunk much or it's highly concentrated morning wee?? Personally I find those sticks mess with my head a little! So many variables! At least they're cheap so you can take a few without worrying about ££! I'm thinking of trying a month without opks and just doing it every other day from day 10 to 20 or something.

urbansloth · 05/01/2020 12:37

Welcome @Lnix and thanks for the advice! It was my first morning wee so maybe I'll try again later and see if I get a different result. I guess it makes sense to try the same time every day so at least it's consistent!

I am also trying for #2 at the moment. My LO is 21 months and still BF so I have no clue when I'm ovulating. This is my first month using OPKs but before that we've been DTD every other day during my apps projected fertile week. Clearly that hasn't been working!! Fingers crossed for 2020 babies for us all! 🥰

Lnix · 05/01/2020 12:50

@urbansloth hard to know which approach is right...I find sticks give me a much better idea of when I'll ovulate and make me feel more in control but also add to my stress by still leaving me wondering - have I done test at the right time, is this result because I'm dehydrated/super hydrated/in the morning/same time of day as yesterday, why did I get fertile CM on this day when my opk isn't positive yet, is this internet test just cheap and unreliable?? etc etc Basically what I'm saying is, ttc makes me mental! 🤣 I was just reading up on the SMEP thing, which seems to do opks and sex every other day...seems like a lot 🤯

urbansloth · 05/01/2020 13:13

@lnix I've read about SMEP too and we are going to attempt as much as possible but with a toddler hanging around who shares our bed half the night we just have to do it when we can do it 😂 it sounds intense! TTC makes me crazy too 🥴 so frustrating not knowing what's going on in your own body! We are all in this together 💪

Lnix · 05/01/2020 13:40

Totally hear ya! We have a 4 year old and both work full time so basically just constantly knackered...it would be an actual miracle if we managed SMEP! Every day of fertile window using OPKs is difficult enough, frankly!! 😅

urbansloth · 05/01/2020 13:43

I must admit my OH was thrilled when I suggested SMEP 😂

Lnix · 05/01/2020 13:47

🤣 yeah def a popular one with the OHs I'd imagine!

Crumbsinthecarpet · 05/01/2020 13:49

@Sjp17 definitely 🤞 I suppose in a way there would be no point stopping your body producing milk only to have to start up again!

@Aimy1 hi! maybe that was ovulation pain? If you tested positive on a strip and then that was the day after maybe? Hard when you don't know where you are in your cycle!

@ChampooPapi hi! that was exactly the same day as me how bizarre!

@OneStepSideways hi!

@urbansloth when do you normally ov in cycle?

@Lnix hi! I think it's SMEP or something? I agree opks add a lot of stress but this month I'm glad I used them as I ovulated 2 weeks later than normal!

OP posts:
Lnix · 05/01/2020 13:58

@crumbsinthecarpet hi! Wow! 2 weeks later than expected, good job you were using opks! I guess I'm lucky I don't seem to have that unpredictability - I have been using opks for 6 months and haven't been on hormonal birth control for years so seem to ovulate somewhere in the middle of my cycle quite reliably. That said, my cycles seem to vary between 26 and 30 days, which means opk can be helpful as I'm never sure when in the middle it's going to be! I'm just not fully trusting of them - maybe because I'm using the cheap ones! Question to all: has anyone use cheapies in conjunction with the fancies and noticed a difference in result? X

urbansloth · 05/01/2020 15:41

@crumbsinthecarpet in all honesty I haven't a clue! I've never used OPKs before and we fell pregnant quite quickly first time around so I didn't think too much of it. So will be interesting to see! I've just done another OPK to compare to this morning's and it's definitely fainter so I think it was a case of concentrated morning wee! Will test later in the day from now on 👍

Crumbsinthecarpet · 05/01/2020 19:49

@lnix I know! Ridiculous!

@urbansloth they confused me so much I'm sure I didn't do them right!

The temptation to test tomorrow at the ludicrously early 7dpo is Killing me 🙈

Hows everyone feeling today? I feel sick sick sick and my boobs hurt like hell

Posharmchairs · 06/01/2020 15:19

Hello,

Can I come and join in?

Ttc #2 cycle 1

Still slightly shocked we are going for it as ds is only 21 months which has flown by.

Trying to feel optimistic but first time was a long process with various hiccups along the way and then a difficult pregnancy. You’re meant to get one easy child right Grin

Crumbsinthecarpet · 06/01/2020 15:27

Hi @posharmchairs ! When's your af due?

OP posts:
urbansloth · 06/01/2020 16:00

Welcome @posharmchairs ! My DD is also 21 months and I'm feeling the same as you! I actually wasn't sure if I was ready but we are on cycle 2 and when I got my period last I was so disappointed it convinced me that I am ready!

Posharmchairs · 06/01/2020 17:17

Ages since I posted so will have to work out tagging again!

Af due around 27/28th so if it doesn’t turn up I plan to test on the 2nd Feb as have a lovely day out planned with friends on 1st and don’t want to be upset as meeting their new baby.

Urban sloth that is good to know!

Needallthesleep · 06/01/2020 17:29

Also joining in.

TTC #2 (two years old tomorrow!), cycle 3. I’ve just turned 35 so v paranoid.

I’m desperate to get pregnant and it’s making me slightly insane. I’ve been using three different types of OPK this month, only got a peak on one (Clearblue Advanced) and DTD that day. Also been using internet cheapies and normal Clearblue and no peaks on those. I see the age gap increasing and worry about it. Also keen for another year off work!

Would love to do SMEP but we just don’t have the energy with full time jobs and a toddler.
