@Posharmchairs I've always taken opks first thing in the morning, then read the information leaflet for the first time a couple of days ago and it says they should never be taken with FMU and should be taken between 8am and 8pm 🙈 no idea why I've never read it before!

urbansloth · 07/01/2020 17:41

According to Femometer my OPK is borderline peak so I'm going to test again later this evening and BD as much as possible the next few days. I thought I felt ovulation pain today too but may have been imagining it. If I am about to ovulate then it could explain why we haven't conceived yet as I'm only CD7!
Does anyone know if early ovulation can impact conception in any way?

urbansloth · 07/01/2020 17:45

Forgot to attach image. What do you think ladies? These things are so bloody hard to read!

bluemoon2468 · 07/01/2020 17:50

@urbansloth unfortunately, I think early ovulation impacts negatively on your ability to conceive that month. I've looked into this in the past as I occasionally ovulate very early, around day 8-9. I think it's because the egg often hasn't developed enough to be successfully fertilised, and even if it is, your uterus is unlikely to have had enough time to prepare for implantation. Never say never though. I have my fingers crossed for you!

urbansloth · 07/01/2020 18:13

Thank you for your honesty @bluemoon2468
I guess all I can do is hope for the best this cycle! Maybe I'm looking too much into it at the moment and it could still be a few days yet so I'll hope my ovaries can hold off a while longer!

Sjp17 · 07/01/2020 19:04

@urbansloth good luck!

AF has arrived so I'm out this month 😢

ChampooPapi · 07/01/2020 19:26

@urbansloth you can absolutely ovulate early and have viable pregnancies! Both my daughters were conceived around 8/9/10 CD (can't be exact I'm afraid). This is why I'm doing a lot of baby dancing this cycle because that's how I conceived bothy others by covering all ovulation bases.

I have a good feeling about this cycle for you 👣✨

ChampooPapi · 07/01/2020 19:30

@urbansloth I always start having sex straight after my period when ttc, there are so many women who go to scans and are shocked at their dates because they have conceived at a completely different time from when they usually do. I would definitely start dtd from now onwards 🤞

whatsthecraic91 · 07/01/2020 19:37

@urbansloth we will probably be testing around the same time then - cycle buddies!! Thank you baby dust to you too! Yes trying temping to see if I’m timing DTD at the right time! I think I might ovulate early this cycle too as I have had wee niggly pains down low on the right today but I’ve no really got any CM so who knows! Wish I knew what was happening in there!!

@Posharmchairs I got the femometer thermometer and it sounds an alarm every morning for whatever time you set it for and it stores it for you so you can upload it later to the app! If you fall asleep with it in your mouth again it doesn’t matter so very convenient!! I would recommend the CB digital OPKs I tried them for 2 cycles but they are so expensive! Use FMU for them, hope they work for you!

urbansloth · 07/01/2020 19:53

Thanks so much @ChampooPapi and @whatsthecraic91 - I just had a furious Google session about early ovulation and got myself into a bit of a spiral!! I guess there's no way of knowing at this point, it could still take a few days go reach peak so I will just keep BD and hope for the best! We have been BD every other day so far so hopefully we are covering our bases! My CM is also not what it needs to be yet either so hoping that's a sign I've got a few days to go.
@Sjp17 sorry to hear AF has arrived! At least now you know rather than waiting without knowing! So frustrating though. Sending you lots of baby dust for next cycle 😊🤞

Sjp17 · 07/01/2020 20:06

Thanks @urbansloth yeah it's crap but if it was going to come I wanted it sooner than later, so I ended up at a 37 day cycle with 12 day LP, I've started temping as well, that second peak OPK threw everything last month so hopefully I have a more normal month and no gastro in my family this month, 🤞🏼🤞🏼 I'm going to visit my gP too I'm a bit concerned about the dizziness I was feeling so get my levels all checked to make sure I'm not deficient in something

Sjp17 · 07/01/2020 20:08

@urbansloth what CD are you upto? Have you got digitals to start using as well now that the lines on those are getting near peak?

urbansloth · 07/01/2020 21:36

@sjp17 I'm only on CD7 so I am going to monitor. I did a second one this evening though which was much lighter so not really sure what's going on. I might get some digitals just to take the guessing game out of it a bit. Who knows! I hope you feel better soon and have a nice easy cycle next month finished with a lovely BFP 😊🤞

Posharmchairs · 08/01/2020 07:15

First eye wateringly expensive opk done yesterday with no LH surge detected.
In theory I shouldn’t ovulate until the weekend anyway BUT ds’s dates made zero sense to me. Which the consultant gynaecologist running bloods on me said was quite common.... but not exactly helpful.

Will see if I feel these clear blue digi sticks are actually helpful this month and if not will definitely be purchasing some internet cheapies. £25 for 10 days worth isn’t going to pass muster when I have a 35-42 day cycle!

Crumbsinthecarpet · 08/01/2020 13:32

Bfn this morning at 9ish dpo, I know it's early but it's driving me nuts

OP posts:
Posharmchairs · 08/01/2020 18:31

@Crumbsinthecarpet 9 dpo is still early. Hope you’re doing okay.

urbansloth · 08/01/2020 19:40

@posharmchairs let me know how you get on with the digitals! I'm tempted to buy some as I'm finding the cheapies confusing as all hell.

Sorry to hear you got a BFN @crumbs, it's never nice to see even when you know it's probably too early! When do you think you will test again?

Have had a bit of watery/EWCM today so definitely think I'm gearing up to ovulation. Haven't had a positive OPK yet so just holding out but we have been DTD every other day just in case. 🤞

The days are crawling by for me. Anyone else?

Needallthesleep · 08/01/2020 20:03

Yep, this is a sloowwww month

Posharmchairs · 08/01/2020 20:49

@urbansloth, so far pretty easy. Just have to remember to get them prepped before I sit on the loo, otherwise the wee is out before the stick is ready Grin

Clear blue says any time of day is fine, but not to urinate for 4 hours prior, hence fmu is an easy option.

Crumbsinthecarpet · 08/01/2020 22:39

Thanks @Posharmchairs, I know it's silly to be disappointed but I had got my hopes up that maybe I was further on and I'd get that elusive pink line :/

@urbansloth can't decide if I should try tomorrow as they are just cheapies anyway, and I know I'll kick myself if I don't test with early morning wee, but in my mind I know it's a waste if I didn't see anything today and should wait at least 2 :/ totally agree every day is dragging hugely!!

urbansloth · 09/01/2020 12:41

Hope everyone is feeling good today! It's nearly the weekend!

We were interrupted by a screaming toddler last night so we didn't get to BD as planned 😩 toddlers are the best contraception 😂

Needallthesleep · 09/01/2020 13:52

@urbansloth Grin definitely with you there. Also full time jobs and toddlers. Nightmare.

I think I’ve come to terms with not being pregnant this month. Next month my DH isn’t going to know what’s hit him. We are going to be non stop!

Posharmchairs · 09/01/2020 16:03

Yes to troublesome toddlers. Had every intention of getting on it from tonight as am supposed to ovulate this weekend. Therefore ds has spent the day projectile vomiting and I’m knackered Sad

Crumbsinthecarpet · 10/01/2020 12:05

How is everyone? Still no af, still no bfp...

@crumbsinthecarpet are late are you?

CD12 today, currently in my FW, apps saying due to ovulate Monday, my first month temping so we will see if it’s right! Lots of DTD for me this weekend 😀
