Hi can I join ?
I'm 43 I have a 23 and 21 year old and a 9 month old with new DP.
I got a BFP in dec 19 but unfortunately had a MMC in February at 9.5 weeks.
My cycle got back to normal in April so I'm on cycle 3 currently 4DPO although not hopeful for this month as only managed to dtd once in fertile week on ovulation day because DP has a really bad back at the minute and is on strong meds for it.
I've never had problems conceiving before but since the MMC it's all I seem to think about and nothing is happening which is so depressing.
I'm currently taking pregnacare, vitamin d and e, omega 3 and evening primrose oil. I'm also taking calc Fluor seed cycling and drinking grapefruit juice eating Brazil's and pineapple. I'm also using ic OPKs. I have recently bought an Ava bracelet and I'm on my first cycle using it. Fingers crossed for BFPs x

Morning @Dipsy77
That's some gap.
We had no issues conceiving the 2 we have, but the age does frighten me I must say.
Can i ask how ur last pregnancy went, is it alot harder on the body? Ah be class to have a wee companion for ur little 1. Sorry to hear about ur mmc ❤

2alreadywantanother · 28/06/2020 09:25

@Dipsy77
That ava bracelet looks a good job. Does it last longer then 1 cycle?
Evening primrose oil? I read that you shouldn't take when ttc or pregnant? Could be wrong but I'd check that out

Dipsy77 · 28/06/2020 10:15

@2alreadywantanother my pregnancy at 42 with dd was a breeze I was actually on the pill when I conceived was a happy accident I went away at Christmas minus my pill and enjoyed myself that much I totally forgot I hadn't taken it till I got home whoops!!. I was monitored closer checked for diabetes, I had growth scans and was under a consultant. I was induced on my due date and had a 3 hour Labour no stitches, not going to lie I had really forgotten how painful it can be.
The Ava bracelet you can use through ttc and pregnancy it is really good and means I don't have to take my bbt as it's difficult as I get up in the night with dd.
I only take evening primrose oil until ovulation as it helps with cm xx

2alreadywantanother · 28/06/2020 10:19

@Dipsy77 yeah I read that alright.
Wow that's positive. Heres hoping it goes as well for us if it happens. Oh I remember the pain lol. When they started me with 2nd, I started crying m. Nurse was like what's wrong? I goes, I know what's coming 😂😂🙈

claireb707 · 28/06/2020 10:20

I have an Ava, been brilliant for taking my temps as my sleep is so erratic it's ends up being not that accurate so having the Ava means I don't have to stress about taking my temps.
I do find it's normally a day or 2 out for ovulation though compared to opks

claireb707 · 28/06/2020 10:25

Has any one got 'male' issues? I think we have a problem well I say we, I think it's my partner. 😢 he's struggling either ejaculates too early or stops half way through and cant finish. I think it's the stress of us trying but don't know what I can suggest or do to help.
We've been trying for 10 months now (cycle 11) and I don't think there is a problem with me (had blood tests, I ovulate every month etc).
Yesterday he came too early and this morning he couldn't finish 😢😢

What do I do? 😢😢😢😢

Dipsy77 · 28/06/2020 10:36

@claireb707 I'm having the same problem but it is because DP is on medication for his back. He has really bad sciatica and because he can't get to physio he has been given very strong nerve tablets that have knocked him out. We were trying SMEP and the first month that went well but with all the info and ttc talk plus his back problems means he can't finish or even start sometimes. He has said a lot of it is stress and he feels pressured Which makes me feel really bad.
A side effect of his tablets are erectile dis function which isn't good but they are the only thing that help at the minute. I've stopped telling him anything about ttc and we aren't doing SMEP. This month we only managed to dtd on ovulation day due to his back we tried 3 tones before that but he couldn't finish due to his back. I'm hoping a break will help him.
We usually both have high sex drives so it is difficult and Sod's law that when we are ttc this happens. My mum told me the other day she had an early menopause at 41/42 so that's now playing on my mind too x

2alreadywantanother · 28/06/2020 10:36

@claireb707
Could be over doing it. I find the few days in a row takes its toll on them. But yes the pressure to preform is definitely 1 that can affect alot. I tend not to say I'm ov just so hes not feeling stressed about it

I don't think so, I'm worried we aren't trying enough but think that is down to him too 😢

Springroll89 · 28/06/2020 14:14

Hi @claireb707 and @Dipsy77 when DH and I were trying for our 1st more than 10 years ago he often couldn't come. It was infuriating! But I asked him to come in a cup and used a syringe. That's how we got 1st DC. Didn't need to do that for the 2nd, perhaps as he was very keen to have another after having the 1st and it generally felt less pressured. We sometimes use the cup/syringe method this time round. It just takes the pressure away to an extent.

Not sure how to suggest that to him 😖
Dipsy77 · 28/06/2020 14:59

@Springroll89 I have a menstrual cup that I use after sex there's some studies suggest that it helps keep the swimmers in and going in the right direction. I have said to DP that if he is too stressed or in pain to perform for him to use the cup he shrugged it off although I will mention this again for next month x

Dipsy77 · 28/06/2020 15:00

@claireb707 just tell him there are a few ladies on your forums that do it and your just putting it out there as an idea to help take some stress/pressure off him xx

Last cycle I had a m/c at 7+2.. thought I would try to make the most of those hormones and would try this cycle.. but as the excitement of a late af drew on and the boobs we being a good indicator that something might be happening... it wasn’t to be.. ouch 🥺
Trying to be pragmatic always good to have a recovery cycle after a m/c..
it’s summer lots more vit d in the cycle..
I have to go away next week and can’t escape some heavy furniture lifting..
I’ve conceived 3 of my babies during the summer months, maybe there is something to the relation of the hols.
But along with the physical pain.. because period pains can be a bitch, my heart hurts.
This road isn’t an easy one, new cycle means another opportunity at least af is a regular visitor and at my age I’ll take that. 2 relation way way back in my family tree had babies at 45.. lets hope it’s in the genes 🥺🤞🤞🤞

SomnolentSekhmet · 12/07/2020 19:19

Congrats Dipsy77! I'm currently 5wks 3 days so not far ahead of you. Got my 3+ on Friday and booked a scan for a week Thursday, when I'll be 7 weeks all being well.

Dipsy77 · 12/07/2020 20:01

Congrats @SomnolentSekhmet I'm wanting to be excited just want to get to the 12 week mark Then I can breathe a little xx

SomnolentSekhmet · 12/07/2020 20:15

If I can get to this first scan and have it be as expected for dates, I'll be ecstatic. My last pregnancy I had a scan at 6 weeks where I was showing as 2 weeks behind and the whole miscarriage process dragged on for the best part of a month.
