claireb707 · 20/05/2020 10:24

And this cycle is finally over - day 44 and period has arrived along with horrendous cramps 😩😩

Leftittoolate · 20/05/2020 15:22

@claireb707 Arghhh so sorry Claire. Have some Cake and Wine and lots of luck for next month. Not long till you can try again although I understand it is heartbreaking when this happens.

@Kangaroo77 crossing everything for you and for me this month as still in with a chance. Had my legs in the air last night and today (tmi lol) Blush

Leftittoolate · 20/05/2020 15:24

Finally got the hang of the emojis - doh! Blush

Leftittoolate · 20/05/2020 15:35

Lots of luck for everyone who is still waiting to know this month and for next month for everyone else :)

Starlight39 · 20/05/2020 15:43

Sorry that your period messed you around @claireb707 and then turned up Flowers.

Hi @Kangaroo77 and @Leftittoolate and lots of luck for this cycle!

I got a faint positive pregnancy test on Friday and then a much darker one today. I've had 3 miscarriages in a row and had a recurrant miscarriage appointment booked when lockdown happened. So I'm generally a bit worried but also crossing my fingers and hoping that it'll be 4th time lucky.

claireb707 · 20/05/2020 15:44

Oh masses amount of sticky bean vibes headed your way @Starlight39 congratulations 👶🏻👶🏻

CritterTamer · 20/05/2020 15:46

3dpo here and on my last month trying before starting treatment for our FET. Zero expectations as I've never managed so much as a CP on a natural cycle but on progesterone pessaries to sort out my rubbish LP and at least give it one final shot in the hopes of saving a few ££££'s!

Having a rough afternoon as I've just had to take the twins for their 12 month vaccinations which was awful 😭

Good luck to everyone still trying /waiting to test xxx

CritterTamer · 20/05/2020 15:47

Ooh congrats @Starlight39

Starlight39 · 20/05/2020 16:09

Thank you @claireb707 and @CritterTamer.

And good luck for this cycle @CritterTamer. Sorry to hear it was your twins vaccinations, sounds really stressful! Always horrible to see them in pain.

Leftittoolate · 20/05/2020 16:28

@Starlight39 Huge congrats and really hope this works. Lots of positive vibes going your way.

@Critter Tamer Everything crossed for you. Vaccinations are an awful time - I remember it well - and for you must be twice as difficult. Cake Brew

TheFoz · 20/05/2020 16:43

Yay @Starlight39!! Delighted for you, fingers and toes crossed for you that this is a sticky one Star Give us all a bit of hope.

I’m in the 2ww now. Going for blood tests tomorrow where I’m going to have my progesterone levels checked amongst other things!

Kangaroo77 · 21/05/2020 07:38

@Starlight39 lovely news. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 for a happy and healthy 9 months

How's everyone else. I'm around 9/10dpo (I think) and not a lot to report. Losing faith! X

Russkispy · 21/05/2020 13:28

@starlight39, congratulations! Hope it's sticky bean this time! Crossing everything for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I'm still around and following your progress. And hopefully soon you will all get your BFP 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

lucieloos · 21/05/2020 13:33

I'm just wondering for all those who are pregnant or who have got bfps in their 40s how difficult has it been? How long did it take? Have either your or your partner had any fertility issues before or if this isn't your first child did you find it pretty easy to get pregnant previously when you were younger? I'm just wondering if I'm kidding myself even trying and those that it works for are super fertile and never had any issues getting pregnant.

Cleozeta · 21/05/2020 15:02

Hi all, I'm back on the horse after all the drama and ups & downs of the last 9 months. First proper cycle after the birth, and due to ovulate. Never thought I'd be on this boat again but here I am. Not holding out much hope now at 43 but might as well use up the spare months before I can do DE IVF.
Have I missed any excitement here? Any new BFP's?

Cleozeta · 21/05/2020 15:07

Lucieloos - I've been trying for over 3 years, since 40. I've had 2 MC and a stillbirth, still no baby.
I had 2 easily conceived healthy pregnancies in my 30's with no mc's.

Starlight39 · 21/05/2020 15:43

Thank you all Flowers

@lucieloos - I have found it easy to get pregnant (which I'm very grateful for) both when trying for my first aged 30 and now aged 40. When I was 30 I didn't have any miscarriages but I have this time. Age is likely to play a part but it could also just be one of those things - apparently some people especially those who have a boy first time can develop issues with recurrant miscarriage.

I think, like all TTC threads, on here there will be more of us who find it harder as we're the ones who end up sticking around. I'm sure there are people who gets pregnant easily and quickly including over 40 and don't end up staying long on a TTC thread.

@Cleozeta - good luck for this cycle Flowers.

Leftittoolate · 21/05/2020 15:53

I am confused. I had some ovulation pain on the 19th on the right side, then again on the 20th on both sides and today on the left side. Maybe some strange goings on with my body because of my age! DTD on the 14th then 17,18,19,20. Think I am CD 14 as the start of full AF was the 8th but I had spotting on the 6th and 7th. OH is getting tired! Planning on DTD tonight and maybe next couple of days if I can persuade! The alarm went off in the early hours and for some reason I didn't hear it but he got up and checked the house and struggled to go back to sleep.

Leftittoolate · 21/05/2020 15:58

@Cleozeta So sorry to hear about your journey. Sending positive vibes.

KinderWild · 21/05/2020 19:34

Hello all! Can I join you? Brew

I'm 41 been trying for a 2nd for the past year, not 100% consistently. I am slightly overweight so hoping that loosing weight might help me. I am trying but lockdown has not helped!

I have a blood clotting problem, I had 3 late 1st trimester miscarriages before having my son. But I found it easy to get pregnant back then, mid to late thirties, them sticking was the problem.

So far I've picked up that I shouldn't have been taking evening primrose all the time Blush so I've corrected that. And I've ordered myself some ubiquinol and DHA to try next month.

Kangaroo77 · 21/05/2020 19:50

Hi @lucieloos just wanted to let you know a positive story over 40. I'm 42 and got pregnant first cycle of trying. Sadly it didn't end well but I'm trying again now. Wishing you lots of luck x.

FutureMum · 21/05/2020 21:23

Cleozeta, I just turned 43. I have a 9 yr old and an under two. TTC number three but no period yet, stopped mini pill four months ago. GP advised no breastfeeding and managed to cut it down to evening only x twice, but no period as yet. I haven’t given up hope yet. Big hug and good luck to everyone.

PetraRabbit · 21/05/2020 21:28

@lucieloos I check this board sometimes because I'm older than most but quite fancy another, plus love reading about good news
I started trying around my 41st birthday, took me 4 months TTC my DC1, then first cycle trying but ended in MMC, then the best part of a year TTC my DC2, so no particular pattern. Never tried before my 40s. No known gynae issues and very healthy. I had DC2 aged 44 and a half I feel very blessed but it can be done!

lucieloos · 21/05/2020 21:29

Thanks everyone I don't have much faith as turn 41 soon and used ivf for our previous 2. We never had any major issues identified though. The only real one was dhs sperm but he was retested recently and it had improved hugely and was all pretty much way above the normal parameters which made me think why not try but I really don't think it will happen for us. It would be so amazing if it did though.
