Hello @Leftittoolate it's a termination for medical reasons. I had a baby diagnosed with trisomy 9 and terminated at 16 weeks in March xxx

claireb707 · 17/05/2020 10:12

Period has arrived this morning - day 42 😮 hopefully this next cycle will be shorter (well actually longer but you know what I mean)
I've stopped taking the ubiquinol incase that was what was extending it

lucieloos · 17/05/2020 10:56

So after many rounds of ivf to get our first 2 dc we decided to try naturally for a third given the current climate and the fact that we have very limited funds to attempt any more ivf. I'm soon to be 41. DH is 40 but his latest sperm analysis showed amazing results. He had 70% fast progressive sperm and his count was hugely above what they look for. It was only his morphology that was slightly below so I thought it was worth a shot. Previously his results had not been too great and that was the only problem we ever identified.

This cycle I had some left over letrozole from previous treatment. It's similar to clomid so thought let's throw that at it as well. Used ClearBlue digi opks and I know we timed everything right. I've had every symptom under the sun. Quite strong cramping all through 7 and 8dpo. Nose like a bloodhound. Nausea. Tingling boobs. Really hungry. Hot and tired. Took a test at 9 dpo and saw what I though may be a really really faint squinter. The type you have to move around in the right light to see. Tested again at 10 dpo and thought probably less so. I normally have a short luteal phase of 10 days max. Today is 11dpo. I'm questioning whether something started to implant and I had a chemical or it's all in my head. I haven't tested again today at 11dpo as I'm pretty sure it's probably all in my head and I'm fed up of thinking about it now. The other possibility is that letrozole causes symptoms and delays af. Anyway no reason to all this just adding my bit. I'm sure af will be here soon. Good luck everyone.

Leftittoolate · 17/05/2020 14:26

Kangeroo - so sorry, that must have been very hard. Can I ask did you have an amnio or other tests I have read you can get now? Please don't answer if too personal. X

Claireb - Ah that is a shame. That is a long cycle. Good luck for next month.

I am not sure what will happen with mine this month as I am normally 28 days but as my full period was 5 days late I am not sure what that means for my ovulation and when my most fertile days are. Do I now count from my new period date or the previous one? Tmi question but how often should we being doing the deed lol? Only on certain days before and around ovulation or other times just in case! Still don't know how to do the emojoi's but want to insert the embarrassed one!

Luciloos - sounds very promising re your DH's sperm analysis. It's really hard when you think you are pregnant. I had this last month but you may be as your period isn't due yet. Everything crossed for you. Fi

Good luck everyone! X

Leftittoolate · 17/05/2020 14:36

(confused)

Leftittoolate · 17/05/2020 14:38

Sorry just testing for the emoji's. Please can someone tell me how to make them work.

Kangaroo77 · 17/05/2020 17:53

@Leftittoolate no it's fine I don't mind talking about it 😊. I had CVS this time at 14 weeks. Initial results clear but 2 week full results flagged T9. Its mega rare apparently (typical) and most T9 babies cause many 1st trimester miscarriages. Not compatible with life sadly. Hardly any survivors globally, very small number in comparison to something like downs where there can be decent quality of life. Right bummer. Fingers xd for better luck next time. Xxx

Kangaroo77 · 17/05/2020 17:57

@Leftittoolate weird cycle for you. I would count the first day of period again as new cycle. We dtd virtually everyday leading up to ovulation and around it. My partner has a pretty high sex drive 😂. However I've gotten pregnant 3 times dtd on positive opk so as long as it's happening in the bedroom around that critical time you're doing the best to fall. So where are you now in your cycle? I'm 7 dpo and getting so much weird greeny yellow cm at mo. Hoping it's a positive sign xxx

Leftittoolate · 17/05/2020 18:53

@Kangaroo77 that is so sad and very unlucky with it being so rare. Good that the tests can tell you that early but I am so sorry as that must have been so hard. The first day of my full period was the 8th May but I had small spotting the day before and the day before that but I should have come on around the 3rd May so what does that mean for me in terms of ovulation? I have entered the details into an ovulation calendar and it says 19th - 25th May but that is when I entered the date of the 8th May as period day (despite spotting a couple of days before) and still kept to 28 day cycle even though the last cycle was more as I was late if that makes sense. The previous dates I entered before I had not had my period gave me 11th-15th as my fertile window but as I was late I recalculated. Should I buy one of those kits you mentioned? How do they work? Do they tell you more precisely when to DTD? My OH would not be up for every day lol So your signs could indicate success so does that mean you stop DTD now or keep going just in case? So sorry for such personal questions and info, definitely embarrassing on a public forum lol. But.......needs must when time is running out lol Good luck and hope you are successful. Definitely sounds like you know what you are doing as it has worked 3 times for you. When I was pregnant the first time I used an ovulation calendar and was pregnant on the second month but this time I am a lot older so my cycle may not be as uniform and apparently chances are much less. Thanks in advance for all the info, really really helpful. xxx

Leftittoolate · 17/05/2020 19:01

@Kangaroo77 We DTD early hours of 14th may and late last night (couldn't persuade him for the 2 days in between as he was tired bless him lol). But I am not sure if I have even ovulated yet because of the late period so may have more luck between the 19th - 25th according to the ovulation calendar but was trying between the 11th-15th just in case the prev. calendar was right! This is definitely very tmi!!! (too much information).

Leftittoolate · 17/05/2020 19:09

Also is everyone taking folic acid now whilst TTC or only when pregnant? I eat a lot of foods which contain folate so is there such thing as too much? Is is safe to stick to the foods or should I be taking the folic acid as well?

Kangaroo77 · 17/05/2020 19:31

@Leftittoolate hopefully I can share my experience to help in any way. I use a fertility calendar (fertility friend) and track my cervical mucus and opks. The opks are really helpful as they virtually pin point ovulation as opposed to relying on guess work or standard charts saying things which are standard and not necessarily right for you. So I'd invest in some ovulation tests. The strips are cheap but can be complicated to read (you need 2 vvv strong lines to know it's time which can be hard to gauge). So I've always invested in CB smiley face ones. Starting on day 11 of your cycle and doing every day until smiley face. THEN def dtd around those smileys. After a few months of close tracking (I used to temp at one time too) I started to become more familiar with my 'time'. So now I purely rely on the egg white cervical mucus (ewcm) as we have a fair amount of sex anyway, I just make sure I do it around that ewcm. I tend to make sure we dtd at least 1-2 days after ewcm has vanished. In the pregnancies with my previous partner we didn't do it that much so I just dtd on smiley face day and got pregnant. Xx

CritterTamer · 17/05/2020 19:42

@Leftittoolate take a preconception multivitamin such as pregnacare and this week ensure your covered for the recommended 400 micrograms of folic acid per day. It's ok to have more - some people take 5mg. There are lots of other useful things you can take but folic acid or folate (which is better) is very important.

CritterTamer · 17/05/2020 19:43

This will * not this week

Kangaroo77 · 17/05/2020 19:45

Oh I forgot to say that apparently vitamin D is just as important so I take an oral spray one daily. I found out about this (alongside folic acid) in my recent pregnancy (the one I had to terminate). So if you're not taking a good dose get vit d spray xxxx

Leftittoolate · 18/05/2020 14:03

Right I think I am clearer now re the cycle days and likely ovulation so according to this my most fertile days this month are 19th, 20th and 21st! I have been looking at the CB Ovulation Kit so may purchase this as well. I eat a lot of folate in my diet so was debating whether this is sufficient to avoid taking synthetic pills as I do have reactions to things. I will start eating sunflower seeds etc as well as apparently a source of folate.

@Kangaroo77 were you taking the folic acid with the tmfmr? I can't remember what I took when I was pregnant the first time. I think I took folic acid but my diet was no where near as good as it is now. Do you normally test early or wait until your missed AF as you said you were 7DPO yesterday and showing symptoms? Really hope it's good news for you x

Needing good luck for the next few days! Good luck to everyone!

Kangaroo77 · 18/05/2020 15:26

@Leftittoolate Yes I was taking folic for 2ish months before falling in December. I had just come off Nexplanon though and I swear that didn't help me. Don't know why but both times I've fallen preg after implant removal I've had problems 🙄. First T13 then recently T9. It might just be coincidence but it gets you thinking.

This time I've been taking prenatal gummies, COQ10, extra folic, omega 3/6/9 and vitamin D spray for last 2-3 months

claireb707 · 18/05/2020 22:15

Or maybe this isn't my period 😩

I really have no idea what's going on now. I got a +ve opk on 28th april, got temp rise after, 2 neg pregnancy tests and now less than 12 hours spotting on cd41 / 19dpo. Tmi but It wasn't even enough to fill a panty liner (ick I hate that word)

I'd say it was an anovulatory cycle but got temp rise after pos opk

claireb707 · 18/05/2020 22:17

😩

Over 40's TTC loads of baby dust to all... 5
Kangaroo77 · 18/05/2020 22:58

@claireb707 ugh how confusing. Although a temp spike is hopefully a good thing? 19 dpo - wow. I have heard it sometimes takes a while to show on preg tests. Anxious waiting I'm sure. I hope tomorrow brings more luck xx

Leftittoolate · 19/05/2020 11:29

@Kangaroo77 Definitely gets you thinking re the Nexplanon. Are you still experiencing symptoms? Thanks for all the tips.

@claireb707 Hugely confusing but still leaving hope as like you said it may not be your period. This is such a difficult process as it does play with your emotions.

I think I am tiring my DH with DTD every night lol I did mention some people DTD 2-3 times a day during the fertile period and the look on his face!! Not possible anyway with DS home from school.

If on one of the DTD conception takes place is there then a risk of ruining that if you continue other days when it is so newly fertilised do people think or I am over thinking the whole thing? It seemed to be so easy to conceive the first time round years ago and never had to think much about it.

claireb707 · 19/05/2020 11:31

Hmmm now think it might have been pre period spotting as its still going but getting heavier. And I did another preg test this morning still neg
Oh joy

Leftittoolate · 19/05/2020 16:48

I can feel ovulation pain does that mean it's too late or the right time? I felt some last night and some this afternoon?

@claireb707 :( So sorry.

Kangaroo77 · 19/05/2020 19:28

Sorry to hear @claireb707 😕

@Leftittoolate it honestly took weeks to adjust to it and back again after I had it taken out. I'll never have the implant again. My symptoms (if they are) have changed. Really bloated, painful wind (sorry tmi) as in rock hard lower stomach. Some cramping. That's it. Really unsure now. It could be nothing after initially a good start to the TWW.

Leftittoolate · 19/05/2020 21:44

@Kangaroo77 They sound like pregnancy symptoms? Just found this on google: Bloating is a common early pregnancy sign. In some cases, bloating can occur even before the first missed period. During early pregnancy, the hormone progesterone increases to prepare the uterus. Progesterone also slows digestion, which can trap the gas in the intestines that may cause abdominal bloating
