I'm also not wanting to seem insensitive with the pregnancy chat on here and this should be a place for TTC support. I'm wishing everyone all the luck in the world with TTC and desperately hope we all end up with our babies!

And thank you for the congratulations on the scan xx

Springroll89 · 14/01/2020 14:00

I don't find pregnancy chat on here insensitive. Hearing about the successes is for me one of the best things about this thread Smile

Realladymarmalade · 14/01/2020 22:38

Thanks Springroll. I have been checking into here for a year. I found it helpful to know that actually I'm not crazily old to be ttc. 😘

NicLondon1 · 15/01/2020 11:30

@Starlight39 congrats on the positive scan! phew.

And yes, likewise, I am still in shock at the BFP after being on this thread for a year.... can't quite get my around the news yet and am still half expecting things to go wrong... There's just such a negative association with being pregnant over 40, it's sad.
Will obv move over to a pregnancy thread in due course.

Good luck to everybody who is trying! Don't give up, it can be done xxx

Chatbash72 · 15/01/2020 18:25

I don't find the pregnancy chat difficult, it's nice to hear... @catclock that's an interesting article my friends are similar ages to me if not a little younger and in the only one in a relationship and far less if any peri symptoms and they are in full blown swing of it..
@Maryshelly1818 you are not alone, we are still at it... it's just been a crappy month with stuff so I've just not been posting..
congrats on all BfPs and scans and as I believe you have to keep faith and hope and positivity on this journey I'm chucking it out to you in the bucket loads along with baby dust.., xxxx

I'm a previous poster and still post now and then. But I've lost my username and password and need to try and sort it out so posting with previous username.

What I have always loved about this thread is that, unlike other threads where you get turfed out as soon as you have a pregnancy tests, the ladies on here have always been supportive.

Is it possible to celebrate the pregnancies alongside discussions on ttc? So far I felt that was what this thread was about.

Congrats BTW to the recent bfps, the first 12 weeks are particularly an anxious time. Of course I wish you all well, but many of us with previous losses and our age as a factor know that things aren't always straightforward. So please can we continue to support these ladies through their first few weeks?

Catclock · 16/01/2020 06:54

@MaryShelley1818 yup still trying and seeing what happens, I'm not fortunate enough to already have a child so it's all or nothing for me. I'll be 44 ib May.

Ylladyoll · 16/01/2020 08:03

I'm 44 in april Shock so hoping to get caught too have a week away planned for my birthday which is the week I'm supposed to be fertile so hoping that the relaxation etc will hopefully allow for it too happen. I just get quoted risks etc from people who I've told... it's very discouraging tbh

Realladymarmalade · 16/01/2020 09:29

Good point fatas. You are a lovely bunch of ladies. I'm now eight weeks today . The anxiety is high. I'm not sure I can wait another two weeks for a reassurance scan but I have to as dp is away. I am very scared of mc or mmc. I do feel very blessed but I am worried my luck will run out. None of this is helped by coming off sertraline mind you.

Realladymarmalade · 16/01/2020 09:31

Yllady roll for that reason I told no one I was trying to conceive. Though with a new Dp who didnt have kids & who is 36, people often bluntly ask (I find that so rude, when it us a colleague asking me in the staff room etc ) . Everyone has an opinion it seems when it comes to pregnancy..

Just try and do what I am doing, and not focus on stats.

Ylladyoll · 16/01/2020 10:50

I've a new partner and I thought while I've a little fertility left, why not xx yes people quote statistics etc I'm not doing any ov kits or actively trying, just not using anything to prevent it. I'm determined not to take any early detection pee sticks, I see how disappointed ppl are getting with very early miscarriages, I do think I will wait til after AF to test, obv have a couple of cycles between now and april but currently only see eachother for a weekend every 4 weeks so dont think it will happen, I time that weekend in the middle of my cycle but I do think its unlikely. Also I'm not doing the whole TWW thing where life stops because theres a chance of being pregnant, will enjoy a drink if I want to etc xx

Realladymarmalade · 16/01/2020 10:53

Yylady that became my philosophy.
I o my did the ov stocks a few cycles. My partner works in the offshore industry . So he was often away during my fertile window. There have been other factors which have impacted on things too which I won't go into. But it goes to show.

Fatas · 16/01/2020 16:43

And can I also say after a few bfps and then nothing, it's nice to see a good few bfps again. Let's hope they'll be another influx soon x

FutureMum · 17/01/2020 07:10

So yesterday was officially bye bye pill day. I am feeling anxious at the moment. Falling pregnant with DC1 in my thirties was easy. DC2 was still easy, although we did have a MC in the middle. And now, at the grand old age of 42, what is mother nature going to say to me? Not sure how long till period comes back, I am still breastfeeding toddler, morning, evening and sometimes middle of the night.

CritterTamer · 17/01/2020 12:24

@FutureMum I understand the anxious feeling! I stopped breastfeeding my twins to TTC ( more to prepare for a FET in a few months as I don't seem to be able to get pregnant naturally at all) and my cycles have returned, but with a 4/5 day luteal phase. My chances have now gone from slim to zero and i'm not sure that even the IVF clinic will be able to work with that.

KediKat · 17/01/2020 13:04

Today I am 12 dpo and I have little light pink spotting (only when I wipe) since last night- sorry if tmi. Also have a small bbt dip today, has me feeling this month is not going to be my month again 😕

Ellabb · 18/01/2020 17:38

Hi,

I would like to join if you agree. I am 41 and have a DS aged 9 months. We are trying for a second although I still do not have my period back as I still breastfeed him. I have nonetheless cut the feedings to 3/24h in the past month, in the hope that it will bring my period back.
So no cycle yet, I just hope it will not take ages to have my period back. English is not my native language so please excuse me if it is a bit faulty.

Mystie · 19/01/2020 21:03

Belated Happy new year everyone and congratulations on all the BFPs, I'm still TTC cycle no. 4 since MMC, started acupuncture and Chinese herbs end of December and feeling fairly confident going into 2020. Going to give it until my 44th birthday in July and then reassess. Hope you're all well x

Russkispy · 19/01/2020 23:15

I'm still around too. Transfer was cancelled this cycle as my follicles were growing too slow. Doc advised to abandon it and start medicated cycle next month. Was gutted but what can I do! Just praying next month will go ahead. And now back to waiting for AF. 🤯🤯🤯

CritterTamer · 20/01/2020 02:52

@Russkispy - i'm so sorry to hear that your cycle was cancelled. Why did it matter how fast the follicles were growing if you were doing a FET? Don't they just wait for you to ovulate whenever that may be and then do the transfer?

@ellabb - welcome to the thread. I've just had to do breastfeeding my 8 month old twins entirely in order to get my period to return. Reducing feeding even to once a day didn't work. They have now returned but unfortunately my luteal phase has shortened to just four days so chances of conceiving are now zero. I'm hoping my clinic can do something to fix it for our FET.

Chatbash72 · 20/01/2020 06:51

Welcome @ellabb
Ohhh no @Russkispy that's pants,. Keeping fingers crossed for feb .
So far January and this year have been appalling burying father in law and now my big kids have lost another grandpa ( my ex's' dad) and my dear friends dad passed away yesterday with another dear friends mother in critical condition... January can piss off...
hears to February being a jolly positive month... 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
Think I am in the ov stage and we have a managed to dtd which at the moment is a bloody miracle as we are both just pooped and drained from everything..
big hugs to all 💕💕

Russkispy · 20/01/2020 08:28

@CritterTamer follicles produce natural progesterone, was told. And my doc wanted me to have natural cycle/preparations for transfer. Guess body wasn't ready after November's MC after all. Next cycle will be injecting Gonal once AF is here, but only for 5 days. And then doc tells me next steps. By the way, I'm doing DE FET.

@Chatbash72 sorry you're having rough time. But glad to hear you managed to DTD Smile

NicLondon1 · 20/01/2020 09:50

Welcome @Ellabb

@CritterTamer - I'm no expert, but can't progesterone therapy help increase the luteal phase..? I'm sure the clinic will know how to help that?
@KediKat. I was thinking that your spotting might be implantation... but have you tested ? Or got AF already?
@Russkispy Sorry about that... I think you're right, the body isn't ready yet. It will be soon xx

KediKat · 20/01/2020 10:36

@NicLondon1 15 dpo today, I test with frer and got a very faint positive! I have a million things buzzing in my head at the mo, I MC in November at 5 weeks after an early positive. Just want to get to the end of the week and see the tests get darker. How are you getting on, does it feel real yet? 🌹
