Give yourself time to process. I think it just takes a while to get your head round it in this position.

Samk79 · 09/01/2020 21:22

@Realladymarmalade thank you. I guess it's natural to feel like this, especially after my mc last year. My two are 12 and 17 and feel mad to be starting again. Also today I've been offered a new job!

KediKat · 09/01/2020 23:06

Happy New Year 😘
@NicLondon1 so nglad your scan went well and hope your pregnancy continues to progress well. @Starlight39
@Realitysucks @Russkispy @Cleozeta I hope all is well with your pregnancy’s too (sorry if I have missed anyone)
Congratulations @Samk79 great news🌹

The last few weeks there has been lots of good news in this thread, hopefully we all get ours too very soon. After my MC (ectopic) in November I am still hopeful and still trying. I am 45 this Summer! Currently in my 2WW 4dpo 🤞🏻

Russkispy · 09/01/2020 23:13

@KediKat thank you but I had an early MC in October. And heading for my next transfer in a couple of weeks.

KediKat · 09/01/2020 23:18

🤞🏻@Russkispy
Last year I began the year with February MC and ended with November MC, hopefully no more.

Starlight39 · 10/01/2020 09:52

Congratulations @NicLondon1! So glad everything is going well.

@Realladymarmalade good luck with your training event and eek at the new business etc! I'm sure it'll all work itself out and you'll find the right balance. I feel the same as you that I'm really enjoying DPs excitement after a rubbish pregnancy experience with my ex (he was having an affair by the time I got pregnant, not that I knew that then!).

Fingers crossed for you this month @KediKat.

I'm still having a tiny bit of spotting on and off and not much in the way of symptoms. I think I'm going to ring EPU tomorrow.

Congratulations @Samk79, I can imagine it feels like a big thing to be going back to the baby stage! But once he/she arrives, I bet your family will feel they wouldn't be without him/her. It does take a while to get your head around though, especially with pregnancy hormones (seem to make me feel anxious anyway!),

NicLondon1 · 10/01/2020 13:39

@Samk79 Congrats on getting a BFP! Hopefully you can get your head around it in the coming weeks....
@Starlight39 In my last (successful) pregnancy, I had a fair bit of pink/red spotting and went to a walk-in service for a 6 week scan, perhaps your local hospital has one just to get things checked? Hope all OK xx

@Russkispy. Just a thought (and apols if I've ever mentioned this before!), but did you ever get tests done for autoimmune/clotting issues which can cause recurrent losses..? Only saying that as I had a previous successful natural pregnancy, but then somehow developed some of these issues and had 2 losses - am now being treated with steroids & blood-thinners... may be worth getting checked? Good luck with your new transfer Nxx

Russkispy · 10/01/2020 15:09

@NicLondon1 thank you. after my last MC I flew to my clinic for a barrage of blood tests and some genetics test. Everything came back clear apart from prolactin levels being too high and I've been taking tablets since I got the results. TSH was high too and on thyroxine for that.
This time I'll be on injectable progesterone and blood thinners. And everything else my doc will put me on. And only time will tell!

NicLondon1 · 10/01/2020 15:16

@Russkispy well it sounds like they're being really thorough! Good luck with this one, will be crossing everything for you xxx

twinkledag · 10/01/2020 21:37

That's lovely news @karryk. Congratulations!

Samk79 · 10/01/2020 22:30

@NicLondon1 thank you. I guess my hormones are all over the place which doesn't help either!

Starlight39 · 13/01/2020 12:15

Hope everyone is having a good Monday. I ended up booking a private scan and there is a baby with a heartbeat in there. I was so nervous I thought she said 5w5d and was getting anxious as I thought I was further along (I asked her about it and she just said the measurements can easily be a couple of days out - I was thinking "yes, but it's a week"??) but when I got outside and looked at the pics, I saw it said 6w5d which is exactly the date I think I should be. Hopefully I'll get a few more symptoms soon as I still have no sickness or symptoms really which was making me worry a bit as I'm sure I've felt more pregnant previous times.

MaryShelley1818 · 13/01/2020 14:20

I feel a bit weird posting on here as it seems to be more of a pregnancy thread atm.
Who else is still trying? It would be good to hear from those still ttc to see where we are all at?
(Obviously huge congratulations to everyone who's conceived though xx)

We're now over a year in and still not even a hint of a BFP. I've had all my tests now and just waiting for our fertility appointment in February to discuss them. I've had the Day 3/21 tests done 3 times and all "satisfactory" , had the HSG which was spot on and had a scan on Friday which showed ovaries of 3cm and 6cm which really surprised me as I was convinced I had Pcos. DH has had his sperm test but doesn't know the results yet. I presume they're ok though as we have a Toddler. Just feel so down.

MaryShelley1818 · 13/01/2020 14:30

Sorry, that last post was so whiny. I know I'm really lucky to have my little boy and am so appreciative. If we don't have another baby, I'll be happy once I get over it.

CritterTamer · 13/01/2020 15:21

@Maryshelley1818 - you're not alone - wer'e about to start trying again but I'm waiting for my cycles to return to normal having stopped breastfeeding the twins a month or so ago. I think I may have ovulated yesterday (not 100% sure though) so hopefully that's the first sign things are going to return to normal soon. I don't seem to be able to get pregnant naturally at all - I've never achieved so much as a chemical pregnancy, despite, like you, all tests coming back fine. We do have two good quality frozen embryos left from the round of IVF which resulted in my twins so I'm pinning my hopes on one of those being ok 🤞 the clinic wont transfer until one year after my EMCS though so we need to wait until May to go ahead, and I need my cycles to be regular by then!

Good news on the scan @starlight39 xxx

claireb707 · 13/01/2020 15:51

We're still trying I'm due to ovulate this week so we're on it 😉

KediKat · 13/01/2020 16:19

I’m still trying to conceive and don’t have any children! Currently 8 dpo, AF due end of the week... always hopeful🤞🏻

Samk79 · 13/01/2020 17:26

@Starlight39 that's great he, I'm looking to book an early scan this time

Springroll89 · 13/01/2020 19:45

Hi I posted a few months ago. I had finally got a BFP after 11 months but it went fainter and fainter and ended in a chemical pregnancy. Still trying. Have good days but I'm generally shocked at how upset I get when my period arrives, even though I convince myself I'm ok about it. And of course everyone else is pregnant. Coming up to 42. 2 DSs so I know I'm very lucky. Just going to keep going so I know we gave it a good shot. Just wish we'd made a decision on the 3rd earlier. Good luck to everyone

ConstanceL · 13/01/2020 20:15

Hello, I was on one of the previous threads under a different name, but I still lurk now and again! I agree this does seem to have turned into a pregnancy thread of late. We are still trying too after a mmc in July last year which turned out to be due to T21. Just hoping to catch a good egg one of these days. We've given ourselves until the end of this year to keep on trying, then if we haven't had any luck we'll get our heads round only having one child (whom we are sooo grateful for!). Good luck to everyone still trying and congrats with all the pregnancies.

KediKat · 13/01/2020 21:34

I like to hear the pregnancy news, we are all in a similar situation and to have so many BFP gives me hope. Makes me realise that it can happen for me too (after40). There is so much we can learn from each other’s experiences or journeys trying to conceive and how they conceived.

ecostats · 13/01/2020 21:41

Congratulations to all of you who have has BFPs over the last few weeks, it has been lovely reading your posts and I'm wishing you all lots of baby dust. It's given me hope that more of us will get good news in 2020!

@MaryShelley1818, we're on the 16th cycle of TTC #2. Every 2ww seems like forever, it's difficult to live life without TTC taking over completely. So, you're definitely not alone!

hmmm123 · 13/01/2020 23:12

I'm still here.. I had an ectopic last year and surgery to remove it so it's taken me a while to decide whether I want to try again as I'm very scared of it happening again

This month we didn't prevent so in theory I suppose we tried and I knew we did around the right time at least once. I kind of hoped for a small miracle but I've just got AF today

I think we might try a bit harder next month and then I'm calling it a day by the spring because I need to move on and accept my life as it is .. which is actually very good and I'm blessed with my dc

Good luck

Realladymarmalade · 13/01/2020 23:33

Hi all

Starlight , great news re the scan !

I dont want to seem gloaty or insensitive , however I totally get that with all the recent BFPs it might be inspiring for some but difficult for others to hear, where the journey has been so long. I'm not going to patronize anyone , and I don't like the term babydust , I just wish you all well in your journey and will keep checking to hear of exciting news , fingers crossed.

For those due in August 2o20 I've joined the pregnancy/antenatal thread . I'm probably the oldest bird there , so feel free to come join me in the old bird corner ! starlight niclondon sam & co.

KristieP2018 · 14/01/2020 06:27

@MaryShelley1818 we’re still trying as well. Been 18 months now. If we got pregnant it would be our first. You’re definitely not alone.
