Thanks Chat - happy new year to you too XXX
I need the positivity at the moment - feeling really down at the moment after getting a positive ovulation test on Xmas Eve, then a weird, half day period at what would have been 6dpo. Either I didn't ovulate at all and that was a random bleed, or I did ovulate and had almost no lining and a 5 day luteal phase - not sure which is worse really. I feel very guilty now as I've stopped breastfeeding the twins for nothing if my body isn't going to get back to normal anyway ☹️
Sorry for the downer - just got to hope that things sort themselves out over the next few weeks/months I suppose - still hoping to do the FET in may of they do.

Happy new year to everyone still trying! Xxx

KristieP2018 · 01/01/2020 17:42

Just a quick update. Had my 20 week scan yesterday, and to my surprise, all is looking good! I think this time it may actually be happening - eek!!
Good luck to you all, there is hope. If I can do it with my shit stats then you all can too! x

debbs77 · 03/01/2020 15:28

Hope you don't mind me joining?

I'm 42, and while I already have a large family, my partner and I are trying for our first baby together.

We fell with a surprise baby last august but unfortunately miscarried. Although it was a surprise, it made us realise we wanted one together.

This is our 2nd month trying, but we plan to only continue until May xx

NicLondon1 · 03/01/2020 17:38

Welcome @debbs77

And congrats @Cleozeta, that's wonderful news!

I had my surprise BFP before Xmas, and am awaiting first scan next Wednesday. Have made the mistake of doing the ClearBlue Digital Weeks test - it DID jump from 1-2 to 2-3 Weeks (so thought I'd averted a Chemical), but now seems stuck at 2-3 Weeks, when it should say 3+. So am a little worried... but let's see. I know these things aren't 100% accurate and HCG can vary wildly. Has anyone had experience of this test being wrong..?

Russkispy · 03/01/2020 18:31

@Cleozeta great it went well! Well done!

@NicLondon1 hope your first scan goes well! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@debbs77 welcome to the group.

AFM, today started preparations for the second DE transfer. Endo lining scan booked next scan which will determine transfer date.

Baby dust to us all in 2020!

NicLondon1 · 03/01/2020 19:12

Good luck @Russkispy!

@NicLondon1 thank you!

Realladymarmalade · 03/01/2020 20:23

Not posted for a while but I wanted to share that I am now 6 weeks pregnant, having just turned 42! This was after trying for about 8 months and almost ready to give up.

Congrats to those testing BFP and , good luck to those TTc in 2020.

Much as I'm delighted I've been driving myself mad reading the stats re MC and chromosomal anomaly rates 😬. Trying to chill and stay positive but thinking of a private scan. Lots of different things to consider compared to 10 years ago. ..

debbs77 · 03/01/2020 20:36

@realladymarmalade In honesty i would get the scan. I was just a month shy of 42 and it went wrong. Yet 6 previous pregnancies, with the most recent being 6 years ago, were problem free.

Never saying it'll happen to you, and I hope it won't happen to me again, but it was awful. I'll be suggested a reassurance scan early next time

Realladymarmalade · 04/01/2020 09:33

Thanks Debs. I will look into it. So sorry to hear of your loss. I dont want to fall into the trap.of assuming that having 2 healthy kids guarantees anything..
Are you trying for number 7?

debbs77 · 04/01/2020 12:09

Yes, we are currently on month 2 of trying. In the 2 week wait! I've always fallen pregnant first time of trying with all 6 children, never once even had morning sickness. So to have had issues last year was a shock.

This time though I'm taking the folic acid etc, being healthier, and we are actively trying. Will only give ourselves until may though due to our ages (42 and 40).

Wishing you all the luck in the world!

PetraRabbit · 04/01/2020 12:55

@CritterTamer I had left this thread after I had my baby last month but I'm keeping an eye on it as I'd still love a third! Although it sounds ridiculous at 44! Just wanted to say that I stopped Breastfeeding to TTC too with my first and got preg straight away but ended up with a mc. It was especially gutting as I loved feeding and wanted to go for longer. Don't feel too sad...even if you don't get a BFP for a while it's all good to prepare your body. I don't think my body was ready to conceive a healthy baby. A year later I got preg with my second. I got my happy ending and am very lucky. I think although I was then 43.5 rather than 42.5 my chances were better as my body wasn't depleted to vitamins and energy. I wish you luck. I'll have the same dilemma later this year with BF my DC2 if we do agree to try for DC3. This time I'll BF a bit longer but that's because I've come to believe that what will be will be. Easy to say with two DC I know...

Realitysucks · 04/01/2020 13:57

@Cleozeta that’s fab news so pleased for you !!! Really glad scan went well! So now the reality hits 🤣🤣🤣 I really am starting to settle in a lot more now! Bubs is pretty active and I’m coming up to 25 weeks on Monday. Bump has definitely doubled in size over Christmas !!! I have put on about 4.5 kilo in total. So hoping that’s not too bad and definitely all in the front !

@Realladymarmalade congratulations ! I turn 42 in 2 weeks and am nearly 25 weeks. We paid for private viability scan at 6 weeks and also at 10 weeks. It is definitely worth it. I too was overwhelmed by the stats, best advice ignore them. If it is meant to be then it will be. I quickly got to the point where I realised whatever I did, you can’t change what is going to happen. Just try to be positive, eat well and try to rest ( I found the tiredness in the early weeks really difficult) and that’s the best you can do.

Fingers crossed for you !

CritterTamer · 04/01/2020 19:26

@PetraRabbit thanks for your message! It does help to know I'm not the only one going through this dilemma. I feel terribly sad and guilty about stopping breastfeeding, but I turned 42 last week so I know I don't have the luxury of waiting. I'm feeling a little better today as I'm now certain I did ovulate on Xmas eve or Xmas day - it feels a if the mother of all AFs is about to hit me at any moment - bang on time for my usual 10 day luteal phase so it looks as if things are going to get back to normal at least, which is comforting, and that weird bleed I had at 6dpo must have been some kind of hormonal glitch. I don't have any illusions about getting pregnant naturally, since it took 2 round of IVF last time, but at least if my cycles settle down I can look forward to a FET in May /June.
I hope your little one is doing well and you're enjoying this precious newborn time - the urge for a third is inexplicable but very strong so I totally get how you're feeling! My DH took a bit of convincing after the traumatic delivery of the twins in May, but now he's completely on board and excited to try for a third. Good luck to you if you do decide to go for it!

@debbs77 - welcome to the thread 😊

karryk · 04/01/2020 20:26

Hello ladies Smile

Just popping by to share some happy news - I gave birth to my little boy this week. After a fairly uneventful pregnancy, he arrived safely and we're feeling very blessed. I'm a grand total of 42.5 years old! For info, I had two mc in my late 30s before going on to have DD a month after my 40th. I then had another mc before conceiving again and carrying to full term. I don't think we're planning on adding to the family - I'm happy to stop here, so I'll likely walk off into the sunset now. Wishing happy news and babies galore for everyone - I've had so much support in this lovely group over the last few years, I would never have got through some of the most testing times with my sanity intact without you ❤️

Much love to all ❤️❤️❤️❤️💕

BooseysMom · 04/01/2020 20:36

@karryk.. Hi, i remember you! Congratulations Flowers Glad everything went smoothly. Enjoy your beautiful son. Thanks for coming back to share your happy news! xx

CritterTamer · 04/01/2020 21:14
