ooh sweetkitty I know exactly what you mean, I couldn't wait to ttc again after my MC & my OV signs were really strong, there was absolutely NO WAY I could ignore them! I know it hasn't been long & the MC was devastating but I suppose everyone deals with it differently - I just wanted to be pg again asap & like you said, waiting for the first AF doesn't actually mean any further risk, it's just so a pregnancy can be dated (at least til they change the date at the scan! )

Anyway, off to join DS1&2 in paddling pool before the sun goes in, maybe talk again soon?

Sorry everyone to hijack thread with my shameless BFP, but couldn't help it !

Lots of luck to you all x

snooks · 26/08/2007 14:20

PS sweetkitty thanks for your good wishes x

sweetkitty · 26/08/2007 14:27

oh no it's great to hear of BFPs on ttc threads gives the rest of us hope it can get you down if there hasn't been a BFP for a while only AFs turning up

Am of your ds's in the pool in the sunshine though my DDs are out in the garden with fleeces on right now!

goingfor3 · 26/08/2007 16:00

sweetkitty - I count the first day of my mc as the day I delivered my baby, I was 16 weeks and had to push him out so it was very obvious. For you I would count it as the day you started bleeding. I've realised I'm only spotting rather than having a proper period so I'm sure it means it's on it's way.

sweetkitty · 26/08/2007 16:11

goingfor3 - that sounds horrendous you poor thing I remember reading your story at the time as well, how are you doing now? I take it by being on here you are ready to ttc again too? I was relatively lucky in that my baby didn't get past 6 weeks even though I was 10 weeks pregnant, I'm going to just roughly count that weekend as the actual mc so it's been 2 weeks since.

On a lighter not (cos I feel a bit that I'm bringing the thread down) I hope everyone else is having a relaxing Sunday enjoying the sunshine

goingfor3 · 26/08/2007 16:49

sweetkitty - knowing that I'm ttc again is the best way through it for me though I can understand it may not be for thiers. A mc at any stage is really awful. It's the second time it's happened to me and this time is alot easier than then because it wasn't totally unexpected, I have two children now so I know I can do it and I think it happened because I had measles or something very similar which I couldn't have prevented I was just very unlucky. Fingers crossed for you.

We had a lovely day out yesterday in Knebworth, the most relaxing day we've had for ages. Our next trip will be next week to Gulivers Land which will be fun but I doubt it will be relaxing!

goingfor3 · 26/08/2007 16:50

I can understand it may not be for others not thiers!

snooks · 26/08/2007 19:43

goingfor3 - what a horrible experience for you, I can't imagine it, my MC was bad enough at "only" 9 weeks. Totally agree with you, best way for me to deal with it was ttc again (once the very raw emotions had calmed down a bit).

Really hoping you get another BFP very soon - sending you lots of luck x

hello may i bump in for a sec?

i have been lurking but didn't want join because i just had a m/c and was thinking that this need I have to just get back to status quo is a part of my grief.
so i am telling myself that i am just "open" to it happening again, if its the right time. (in denial )
and i know nothing about my cycles and counting and all the other acronym stuff here . . .and not sure if i want to get too sciency about it yet . . .

however, if it does happen () I think i should be prepared, so i am still taking the vits and trying to be healthy etc.

one question - do you totally give up alcohol when you are ttc? Or do you give up "binge drinking"? I went to a party last night and had about six vodka colas (between 7 and 3am). Is this totally bad?

And again about exercise - can you run, work-out, go to astanga yoga when you are trying? or should you start thinking about body temp, heart rate, already?

what about dieting? should you eat the totally balanced health p/g diet or can you low-carb or low g.i when you are ttc?

sorry to bombard with questions. part of my problem is that i am sort of hedging my bets. i kind of don't fully want to return to my life before the last p/g and m/c but don't want to devote it to ttc either . . .

bucky - sorry to hear about the dreaded AF turning up

Abroller - hi and welcome to the thread

TJuice - welcome to the thread and sorry to hear about your mc, I had one 2 weeks ago so am still coming to terms with it myself, was it your first pregnancy? You will find lots of support on here too. I don't drink when ttc but then again I don't drink that much normally (I did have quite a lot of wine Friday night though) I believe you can keep exercising when ttc if you usually do it. Diet wise I only take folic acid tablets don't change anything else.

goingfor3 - I'm the same want to get pregnant staright away again, think I will feel better about the mc if I am pregnant again if that makes sense?

Bucky2007 · 26/08/2007 21:34

I admire all your strength trying again so soon. I had a mc last September and only worked up the courage to go for it again in May/June this year. It was horrid, I feel for you all. I cried for a week.

I think we will all have happy news soon enough though.

TJuice · 26/08/2007 21:41

a bit old but still . . .a glass of wine can help you conceive?

hello new people I've not said hello to yet!

sweetkitty have you worked out your CD yet? it's good to hear people getting bfp's after mc - proves how resilient the female body can be

tjuice continue exercising, eating and drinking as 'normal'. i'm not sure about low-carb or low-gi, but before i decided to start ttc I decided to go on a 'detox' so I could shift a few pounds. i ate 3 square meals a day, loads of fruit in between and cut out chocs, caffeine and alcohol. I lost 10 pounds in four weeks (think that says more about my previous drinking habits tho .

dg x

Morning all anyone tested yet theres a lot of us coming to the end of cycles

digitalgirl - I won't have a CD until I get an AF it's only been 2 weeks since my mc so I won't have a cycle proper until the old witch comes for a visit.

DD1 has went to nursery all by herslef today i.e. one of us doesn't have to wait in the parents room anymore, oh my baby is growing up! Only have DD2 right now it's so easy but DP is here today will be different tomorrow when I have to get them ready for 9 DD1 at nursery DD2 at toddlers.

aquababe · 27/08/2007 10:32

hey digital girl
Just had lots of sex from 2-3 days before first possible ovulation day and had sex pretty much every night for over a week (I'm irregular)

didn't get up for over half hour afterwards and did the stupid pillow thing

lucky dh thought all this was funny and didn't get too annoyed.

due beginning may
haven't been to docs yet as I hate docs
