September bus

Sleepyhead11 · 10/08/2019 12:28

Hey, so was a little flakey on August bus because this is so hard, but I like the support and folk with bfps give me hope.

Anyway, I am on cycle is seven now, period due first or second September. But will probably poas end of Aug because I turn into a sucker for punishment the week before.

How are you all doing? Will be happy and sorry to see familiar names back.

I also will disappear for days at a time, which doesn't mean I'm ignoring folk, but finding it too intense.

Love and luck

Would love to hear about this month's lovely distractions

@PostieGal totally! 3 people at work asked me to today when I'm going to have a baby! A colleague is about 7 months so babies are often on topic!

Totally agree about the pressure , it's so stressful really. Fingers crossed we all get our BFPs whenever it's meant to be

@PostieGal a few us seem to have the same AF date! I'm sure there are 4-5 now lol, a big test day for the September bus!

MrsMeow2019 · 19/08/2019 20:57

Does anyone check CM and their cervix for signs of ovulation ? I'm not convinced I'm going to be able to tell and wondered if anyone has any advice

Sunshine8888 · 19/08/2019 21:03

@MrsMeow2019 I have been trying to do this every day but it is difficult! It seemed to be the same every day and then suddenly there was just more CM and then it was stretchy. I’ve bought OPKs for next cycle as I think I missed days of my fertile window this cycle due to not really understanding what was what

GloriaMaximus · 19/08/2019 21:33

Thank you @PostieGal. It's ok. Threads get lost so easily on here anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah I had mine removed last week. I though I had the start of AF last night/ this morning but it's stopped again now. I hate not being in control of my body at the best of times. DH is fed up of me consistently talking about it now too.

Raizelrea · 19/08/2019 21:49

@MrsMeow2019 I'm attempting to, but in the same boat as you - not sure I could tell! Especially the stretchy part confuses me, I'm unsure if I've ever had anything I'd consider stretchy - then again, I don't think I've ever tried stretching it until now... I feel like I just go from sticky straight to watery (sorry, TMI), but honestly I could be estimating it all wrong, the differences seem tiny! I am oddly fascinated by this at the moment though!

Twbmod · 19/08/2019 22:00

Age 30 (very nearly 31!)
TTC (trying to conceive) #1
Cycle 1.5 ;-) ( this will be first month of proper trying)
CD (cycle day) 4
AF due Around 14th September

For some reason a little disheartened as it didn’t work my first semi-try last month.

I’m trying to just be more chill this month as I was convinced I was preggo last month (sore boobs in a different way, bigger nipples I thought)... Really surprised it was BFN... fell pretty hard.

So I’m just trying to be chill... even though my sister is heavily preggo and due any minute and every work colleague is preggo and the non preggo work colleagues are joking about me being next.,.. ahhh the pressure. Just want to p*ss off to an island somewhere where there is no one asking me when I’m getting pregnant.

Twbmod · 19/08/2019 22:00

I’m actually 33 not 30... forgot to edit that but

MrsMeow2019 · 19/08/2019 22:01

@raizelrea I'm similar, don't see any stretchiness! I've read to check how firm the cervix is too, and that if it feels as firm as your nose you're not ovulating but if it feels like your lips you are. Queue me simultaneously checking the firmness of my nose and cervix, a sentence I never dreamed I'd write hhahahahahah

MrsMeow2019 · 19/08/2019 22:02

@Twbmod Welcome ! similar age here, and ditto, why can't they all just be quiet and wait until we tell them!

PostieGal · 19/08/2019 22:03

@GloriaMaximus I'd heard it can take a while to settle down after removal, so just tried to take it a day at a time. Sorry DH is struggling with hearing about it, at least you can come here to hear from others experiencing the same.

@MrsMeow2019 it's so easy to get wound up with it all isn't it! And the stress/worry about it can't be healthy. I wish we could just be open about the whole process, but I know we'd all get treated weirdly if people knew.

GloriaMaximus · 19/08/2019 22:30

That's true. I guess the stars aligned for DC1, a surprise baby when I only DTD once. I guess I expected to just click my fingers and it all fall into place. Waiting a few months for BFP is probably a good thing but I just crave that pregnant feeling and I'm petrified that all of my laparoscopies have damaged something. Also this is DHs first so for all we know all of the rugby he's played for the last 29 years has caused a problem.

Raizelrea · 19/08/2019 22:41

@MrsMeow2019 Hahaha love it, hilarious! I'm glad it's not just me overanalysing every time I go to the loo 😆 So was it like your nose or like your lips? 😄

@Twbmod I'm at a similar stage, cycle 1.5 first baby and in my early thirties (will be 32 this October). We sort of tried during our honeymoon but stopped when we came back which I think was a day or two before ovulation, so skipped the most fertile days. Then the cycle after that was basically a writeoff as I was ill during my fertile week so no DTD whatsoever... and yet there was still a part of me that thought I could be pregnant, at least certainly after the forst cycle. It is very easy to symptom spot as soon as you know there is some possibility!

Ah yes, one of my colleagues also had a baby recently and everybody at work also keeps saying I'll be next. Not much you can say tomthat you of thing, I try to shrug it off as best as I can but it is difficult isn't it?

Been at it for what feels like forever

flossy12 · 20/08/2019 03:23

@Raizelrea I know how you feel, a girl I work with is pregnant she's 22 weeks now with a little girl and she's been showing me the nursery furniture and prom ect and I'm SOO happy for them as it took her around 5:6 cycles to catch on, but it's also hard at the same time makes me slightly jealous

Raizelrea · 20/08/2019 07:30

@flossy12 I'm not exactly jealous of her, she had a very long and difficult journey to getting her lovely boy (multiple MC and IVF), so it's absolutely brilliant she finally has her rainbow baby - and he's the most adorable thing! I do feel like some people at work are half expecting me to show up with a baby announcement though. Guess I can't blame them though, I was way too overenthusiatic over the photos of someone's newborn granddaughter so it's probably quite obvious 😄

Chaosonthehorizon · 20/08/2019 08:08

Well peak this morning and even though I feel rubbish am gonna make sure we DTD tonight as we couldn’t last night with DH away for work. Fingers crossed! Would be lovely if we could do it tmw morning as well but we would definitely get caught! Can’t really explain that it is to get a sibling on board.

flossy12 · 20/08/2019 08:41

@Raizelrea aww bless her ☺️ haha I'm the same, always been like that about babies and baby clothes, prams etc 😅 so nothing new for me

Raizelrea · 20/08/2019 12:58

@flossy12 See I never used to be bothered but about a year ago it suddenly changed - I think it's because we bought a family home by the coast so I suddenly started to envision myself on the beach with little people 😄 OH was quite shocked when I suddenly started talking about babies out of the blue so it took him a while to get on board with the idea!

flossy12 · 20/08/2019 14:15

@Raizelrea wow that sounds lovely! My OH has a DS already so it would be nice for him to have a little one to play with as well he gets lonely sometimes and he's old enough now to understand it all so it's quite exciting!!

Haha bless him, I always knew I wanted kids so when me and OH got together I told him if he wasn't wanting kids in the next 2/3 years then there wasn't much point us seeing each other 😂😫 now I look back I'm supprised he didn't run a mile haha all he said was 'yeah that sounds good to me' x

MrsMeow2019 · 20/08/2019 14:35

@Raizelrea My nose lol, I shall continue to assess and see if there is anything in it. It's an interesting idea if anything.

The OPKs are frustrating I'm thinking of giving up with them, have had what I think is ovulation pain and ov day should be today but no positive...

Second you all on the baby stuff and cute babies! I'm always tell my mum and MIL about friends new babies and coo-ing over them, I'm sure they look at me thinking and when are you going to have one...... Confused

mrssunshinexxx · 20/08/2019 17:11

@CarolineKate here it is x

Raizelrea · 20/08/2019 17:35

@flossy12 Sounds like you've got a good one! I suppose with him already having a son he didn't find the topic as intimidating! 😃 How old is his DS?

@MrsMeow2019 Fascinating how much happens with the body that we didn't use to pay attention to isn't it? I know, I think if I used OPKs I'd drive myself crazy, though if you are using them atm it's probably a food idea to stick it out till the end of this cycle to give you a good point of reference if you need it down the line. I don't think I've ever had ovulation pain, felt some twinges yesterday but that was only CD 12 so surely it's too early?

flossy12 · 20/08/2019 17:55

@Raizelrea yeah he's just as excited as me now, His DS is 3 ☺️

CarolineKate · 20/08/2019 18:04

@mrssunshinexxx thanks for this!!

CarolineKate · 20/08/2019 18:10

Hi everyone!

This is my first bus on mumsnet 😁. Hope you don't mind me joining.

So this is my 5th cycle ttc no 2. I have a 21 month old son.

This will be my 1st month using opks I'm deffo a novice with them! Was hoping I could just wing it but it's not working out obviously 🤣.

AF will be due on 15th September. Hopefully I will be waiting until I'm late to test! I managed it last month. So never tested lol. The months before that I have spent a fortune on trying to make faint lines darker!!

Be good to make some friends on here xx
