I've been quiet recently- on holiday and the Wi-Fi is a bit dodge. I'm about 9dpo. Scared that any twinge is the start of AF cramps but nothing definite so far. AF is due any time from Thurs to Sunday.

@Carley321 that does sound scary. Is it under local anaesthetic? At least they have fitted you in very quickly.

@catsandkid I know what you mean. How early has your ovulation been? I have been starting smep cd10 then cd13 and cd16, then setting every other day from cd16. So a kind of modified smep for a longer cycle. You could try something like that? Although if you are very irregular that won't work. Smep is a lot of effort. Although I like to know we're covered throughout the cycle, literally that sperm should meet egg each cycle. It's up to them to take it from there though...!

Hope everyone is going well.

Carley321 · 04/09/2019 06:46

Oo well Done @Makeafamily19 good luck with tww🤞

Glad your on the mend @catsandkid it’s hard when your irregular isn’t it. I have been but the last 3 months have been under 35 days so hopefully that will stay.

Lush to have a holiday to take your mind of things @Skyla01 not to long left to wait now either which is great. 🤞 that af doesn’t appear.

No I don’t need to be under local ano. It’s a procedure that incerts a kind of balloon into your uterus and then flows dye through your Fallopian tubes. I’m dreading it. I paid privately in the end.

Does anyone else get extremely light or short periods. TMI ALERT .... I literally had brown spotting 2 days then a few hours of a few drops of dark red (few clots) then brown spotting for 3 days after. Is that normal?

Makeafamily19 · 04/09/2019 07:25

@Carley321 thanks fingers crossed. I also have very short and light periods and keep thinking the same thing so I'm going to ask the GP. I spot brown blood for 3 days, then 1 'heavy day' which is full on bleeding/clots which I class as CD1 but still not that heavy compared to most people, then sometimes some more bleeding on day 2, then just brown spotting again for a few days. Worried my lining is too thin for it to implant or something.

Carley321 · 04/09/2019 07:40

@Makeafamily19 that’s so similar to what I’ve been experiencing. And this cycle even the 1 day was hardly nothing. The doc once told me that the flow isn’t to important but irregularity may need to be investigated. And I’m both so I have had bloods done and an untrasound and internal... but I don’t know if they’d pick my uterine lining up in those anyway would they? Xx

catsandkid · 04/09/2019 10:16

@Skyla01
Well I had a few short cycles (for me) over the past 6 months so sometimes they've only been 27 days, where I think I've O'd around CD12. So I think I'd need to start SMEP on CD10 just in case. Perhaps I could miss CD8 though...?

I'm thinking next cycle I might have a bit of a rest and not track etc. and just go with the flow a bit. I'm away with work quite a bit next month anyway!

catsandkid · 04/09/2019 10:19

@Carley321 I have light periods too. I will have a small bit of red blood CD1, CD2 is my main period day...but TMI I could probably get away with one pad all day (if that wasn't so disgusting!) as its definitely not enough to fill a pad even in a whole day. CD3 is barely spotting and then thats the period finished! I do get some bad period pains on CD1 though...despite the fact there's not much flow at all!

GoodCow · 04/09/2019 12:42

Currently in the TWW and trying to be realistic as I think we missed it this month but I felt a bit sick this morning so obviously not staying as realistic as I should! Also feel a bit womby though which is normally a sign I'm due on. Would be really great to have a little window in there to see what is happening!

Makeafamily19 · 04/09/2019 17:59

@Carley321 not sure if they would pick it up on ultrasound but would be interesting to know. There are drugs you can take to thicken it if need be I think.
@catsandkid yeah I get really bad period pains on CD1 as well and quite bad PMS. When I was a teenager I would get so ill and have to take a day off school, even throwing up. You wouldn't have thought it would be that bad when it's only 1-3 days! Mine used to be around 2-3 days and have shortened a bit more to 1-2 days over the last 5 years I would say (I'm 31).

Carley321 · 04/09/2019 19:38

@catsandkid it’s worrying isn’t it... but maybe more common than I realise. I get pretty bad stomach ache the first day too.

Having a break can be refreshing... I think I’ll be forced into it with this test booked on CD7 🤦🏻‍♀️

Wouldn’t it just @GoodCow. Good luck though.

How do you think it would be diagnosed @Makeafamily19 ?

It’s good to hear I’m not alone on the short light/weird cycles ❤️

Makeafamily19 · 04/09/2019 20:50

@Carley321 I've no idea but just googled and found this www.ivf1.com/thin-uterine-lining/ so maybe on ultrasound? Or just test your estogen levels at first maybe?
If short periods are more common than we think then hopefully it's not a big issue as infertility isn't that common (though I think it can feel that way reading all the threads).

Carley321 · 04/09/2019 21:41

@Makeafamily19 I’m glad I’m not alone. It can definitely feel Like that. Although that article got me thinking. So if it was picked up on the scan it would probably had to have been said that that’s what’s looked at. I need to talk with my go To ask exactly what they’ve done I think. Iv had all bloods. But not sure what he ultrasound was for 🤔.

Skyla01 · 04/09/2019 22:43

Hope it all goes ok tomorrow @Carley321. At least it will be over soon.

I'm feeling a bit rubbish here- trying not to symptom spot for AF but every little twinge I'm thinking that's AF cramps here. Won't be too surprised if she shows up tomorrow. Oh well, at least I haven't got my hopes up...

Carley321 · 05/09/2019 06:33

Thank you @Skyla01 my stomach is doing backflips 🙈

Aw it’s such a stressful time. I wish there was a way we could just forget during the tww. But symptoms can be exactly the same as af, if any at all. So keeping my 🤞 for you.

Makeafamily19 · 05/09/2019 07:13

@Carley321 good luck, I'm sure it will be fine, it will be over before you know it.

AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/09/2019 11:47

Hey ladies how are you all doing?

I’ve not had a chance to look at all the posts yet, I’ve been a bit quiet because we haven’t really followed SMEP this cycle, however I am really pleased with what’s going on with me.
For the first time ever I think I’m becoming a bit more regular, my opks are progressing and looking at my Cm the Premom app has correctly predicted ovulation. I know it’s a little thing to be pleased with but I’ve never been this regular and I am really happy I continued with the Agnus Castus. So I think not the next cycle but the one after is my best chance at conceiving judging by how my cycles are changing and that is something I’m excited about because it’s never felt this possible before.
I know I’ve turned into a bit of a Agnus Castus freak but I really do recommend it and hopefully it will be the thing to give me my BFP without the intervention of clomid.

GoodCow · 05/09/2019 12:33

Anyone else up their brie consumption during the TWW or is that just me and my fatty self?!

Carley321 · 05/09/2019 12:38

Hello all... just an update on the Hsg.. one tube is probably blocked as the dye would not flow through. I’m feeling so crap about it, and frightened that this may never happen for us. Any advice and positivity would be so appreciated x

SMiles14 · 05/09/2019 13:51

@GoodCow Haha I definitely should be!!! I LOVE Brie sooo much. Might buy some after work now you mention it....

@Carley321 aw Lovely that sounds really difficult. No advice but I have seen people on here with only one ovary in play for whatever reason and they have got their BFPs, I think it just takes time. Look after yourself. At least you know now. Did they suggest any follow up? Did they say anything about short periods? xxxx

Mooey89 · 05/09/2019 17:01

Stupid question alert -
Ov test today looks really close to +, probably going to go positive tomorrow -
We’re due to DTD tonight for every other day, so do we do today and then three days running if pos tomorrow? Ie 4 days in a row? X

Mooey89 · 05/09/2019 17:03

@AllHopeAndNoResults
Have a look at inofolic - my friend conceived her first on Clomid and had a consultation with an ivf nurse who recommended it - it’s a supplement - pricey but not unaffordable and supposed to be so good they have had ivf patients fall preg naturally with it!

Skyla01 · 05/09/2019 17:20

@Carley321 sorry to hear your news. That must be tough to hear. But I wouldn't lose hope. I think I'm right in saying we ovulate from alternating ovaries, so every other cycle you should still be in with a chance from the "good" side? I know that it isn't ideal, but I think you still have a great chance to conceive naturally. It may take longer. Did you get any advice from your clinic?

@mooey89 yes, 4 days in a row, if you can manage! Try at least 3 days in a row from positive opk.

@AllHopeAndNoResults I'm really happy your cycle is becoming more predictable! That should really help you guys!

I've had no more cramps today and no sign of AF yet so feeling a bit better. Just needed a bit of a moan yesterday!

Carley321 · 05/09/2019 19:57

@SMiles14 thank you. I have a follow up appointment which I’m waiting on. Didn’t mention anything else to be honest. The doctor was lovely but gave me hardly any information. So I’m paying for a follow up too 🙈. The nurse said it’s probably nothing at all to do with the irregular cycles or short periods though because my cervix looked ok.

Thanks for the positive stories ladies ❤️. It’s already been a year, I’m just so fed up of waiting 😢. But hopefully it will happen soon 🤞.

@Skyla01 thank you. I hope your right. I wish I knew what causes it though.
When was af due? Good Hun 🤞

Carley321 · 05/09/2019 19:57

Good luck*

Carley321 · 05/09/2019 19:59

Sorry ladies I used a name change to up my spirits. It’s Carley321

catsandkid · 05/09/2019 20:31

@Carley321 Sorry to hear your news - hope you're taking some time to yourself to digest and regroup. My BF lost a tube and ovary during the birth of her first child (was all quite horrific!) and had absolutely no issues falling pg second time around - so it certainly doesn't mean you're completely out of the game. As we Ov from either ovary lots of women could have blockages and not necessarily know too. As for now, treat yourself to a nice dinner, some choc and a glass of wine (if you're drinking) xx
