@DGirl35 sorry Hun. What a load of shit... I’m 12dpo today and af will most defo be here in full swing today. God i’d give anything to know what happened inside this minefield of a body!

I’m definitely not symptom spotting or googling next tww. I will ram myself full of business.

@firsttimemum55 was it you second cycle of smep you got you bfp?
That’s what I would like to actually confirm is when I ovulate 🤔. I’m always left guessing. My bpm does start lowering on my Fitbit maybe that’s a sign?

firsttimemum55 · 29/08/2019 09:59

@Carley321 we half heartedly did it last cycle so this is actually the first cycle that we really did it properly. The opks confirmed I was due to ovulate and I pay for another app called Natural cycles that you take your temp every morning and it confirms when you ovulate. I've found it to be really accurate and it always correctly predicted when AF was due. Have only been using it for 4 cycles and it got things right from cycle 3 really.
I bought Ava because I didn't want to keep taking my temp every morning but it's effective so would probably do that again if I wanted to ttc again xxx

Carley321 · 29/08/2019 10:26

Thanks for the info @firsttimemum55 so just another question... how long do you find you ovulate after you bfp OPK? Maybe it’s worth me getting a thermometer to confirm.

I just didn’t want to get obsessed (little late I think). I’ve been absolutely crazy this cycle. Even my emotions have been 10 x worse than ever before!

firsttimemum55 · 29/08/2019 12:13

@Carley321 when you get your peak you'll ovulate 24-36 hours later so that's 1-3 days BUT if you get sick or you're stressed etc your body can delay ovulation.
So that's why I liked temping. Once we got a positive opk my DH and I BD every night until the app confirmed I had ovulated by showing a significant rise in temperature above a certain amount called my cover line. It seems a lot but it's really easy once you understand it the only annoying thing is having to take your temperature at the same time everyday all month. But I'm still doing it to be honest it's just become a habit now.

firsttimemum55 · 29/08/2019 12:15

@Carley321 it is such a difficult time and I definitely got obsessive but I prefer to know what's going on and found this clear to follow once you know what you're doing. If you can be bothered I would definitely recommend this method and if you want anymore help with it let me know would be happy to show you what I learnt and how I made it work for me xx

AllHopeAndNoResults · 29/08/2019 15:02

Hello!

I totally lost track of where I was and I’m cd8 today when I actually thought I was cd7 🙄 I know we are supposed to start on cd8 and do every other day until peak but we dtd last night. Do you think I should dtd again tonight or miss it and do tomorrow? I know the early stages don’t really matter and I’m probably worrying over nothing. It’s so weird I honestly am losing the plot I thought I wasn’t that far along. The same happened to me the other day it’s like I’m wishing extra AF days on myself 😂😂

@firsttimemum55 lovely! Do you feel better now you’ve told dh? You can probably talk about it all now and of course you can’t not tell your mum. I know this sounds weird but even the way you are writing I can sense your energy and it’s so lovely. I can tell you are so happy ❤️

Carley321 · 29/08/2019 16:01

@firsttimemum55 that’s interesting, so out of curiosity did you ever have to dtd more than the 3 days after the peak?
It is stressful and I don’t know if I’m built to cope with it. My personality is so obsessive 🙈. Thank you I may take you up on that offer.

@Hope I doubt it matters as long as it’s every other does it? How are your opks looking?

AllHopeAndNoResults · 29/08/2019 18:04

@Carley321 I suppose so. My opks are not even getting a 2nd line but I’m still so early in the cycle so I didn’t expect anything anyway

firsttimemum55 · 29/08/2019 18:19

@Carley321 my ovulation was only delayed once when I ovulated on day 16 when it's usually day 12-13 for me but we weren't actively trying then and I hadn't done an opk so couldnt say if it was later than opk would have predicted. I just knew I hadn't ovulated as my temp had stayed low.
If you need any help with it send me a dm and I can help you get started with it xx

firsttimemum55 · 29/08/2019 18:22

@AllHopeAndNoResults I was sooo happy after telling him, it's too big to keep to myself. We've been listening to pregnancy podcasts together which is so cute haha. He really wants to know what's going on and what to look out for.
And thanks yes I'm just floating around on a cloud but I know you will be too!!

How are you finding the opks do you think you've got the hang of them?

And I think it would be ok to give tonight a skip and carry on tomorrow, I think you need to save your strength!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 29/08/2019 18:38

@firsttimemum55 oh that does sound cute! Have you booked in for the midwife ect?

I am getting the hang of it tbh I don’t feel like I have to do so much this month because I’ve got the routine if you see what I mean? I think we will follow the plan but do a relaxed approach. Last cycle I was literally dragging DP for the deed 😂 I don’t want to be that person again!!

I’ll see how tonight goes. I’m not going to decide, if it happens it happens. Last night I set a little romantic setting just so DP doesn’t think it’s only about conceiving.

Carley321 · 30/08/2019 08:24

@AllHopeAndNoResults you sound like your off to a good start anyway. I agree though I feel bad for DP. It’s all so clinical... this ttc lol. Good on you for keeping it interesting 😉

@firsttimemum55 thank you. I think I’m going to order one today.
Aw you do sound so happy. It’s so lovely when to see people finally get their bfp. Hopefully the rest of us won’t be to far behind you 😊.

I’m going to try CB again this month and do the cheapies in the evenings.

So I wonder if anyone is able to help.
How short a luteal phase is actually something to worry about. I’m not sure when I ovulated but earliest it would have been CD18 and then I start spotting on CD29 af arrives today which made a 30 day cycle. So only an 11/12 day luteal phase. This is to short right?

nicola18737 · 30/08/2019 08:57

Hi all, I have a DS, 17 months and currently going through my first MC. We're going to try the SMEP very soon! Someone has just recommended it to me. I think I'll have to wait until I get my period after the MC though. I am really excited to have a plan though! Has it worked for a lot of people?

AllHopeAndNoResults · 30/08/2019 12:02

@Carley321 I’ve been told that 11days luteal phase is good enough so I don’t think you have to worry about that.
Have you tested your progesterone?

GoodCow · 30/08/2019 13:23

Sorry to hear that @nicola18737 I hope you're ok

Just did a lunch OPK and it's still low so think we missed it this month (CD15) so will have another crack next month! It's getting worryingly close to a summer pregnancy though, which I was hoping to avoid! Pregnancy is uncomfortable enough without adding heat to the mix! Grin

Carley321 · 30/08/2019 14:08

@AllHopeAndNoResults yes Iv had my bloods done all normal. But I have some of the symptoms for endo and that’s always at the back of my mind. I’ve been referred to gaynae. I actually just got off the phone to my private clinic and I can have a hsg this week if I book today... I’m so torn because it will mean having a month off trying.

Carley321 · 30/08/2019 14:08

Hi @nicola18737 x

AllHopeAndNoResults · 30/08/2019 14:27

@nicola18737 sorry I missed your post and sorry you are going through a MC, SMEP is a good idea for increasing your chances but it’s a bit of a slog, we’ve had a few BFPs on here. Are you sure you want to try straight away? Not saying you shouldn’t at all but just so your body can get back in sync. You have the best support thread here 😊

@GoodCow I didn’t ovulate until cd19 last cycle and I think @Skyla01 had a later ovulation too on one cycle so you haven’t necessarily missed it just keep checking.

@carley that’s a tough one and only a decision you can really make. What are you thinking to do? Maybe get the tests out of the way so that if anything is there it has a chance of being detected. No matter what month you do it you will miss out a month so maybe best to get it out the way?

My body is all weird this month. I’m having weird Cm and I’m only day 9. It’s either a good sign for this month or a month where nothing will work. I’m not sure but I’m going to keep going anyway.

How is everyone else?

firsttimemum55 · 30/08/2019 16:45

@AllHopeAndNoResults did you DTD last night after all?

I got in touch with local midwifes and they said they'd contact me when it's time to book in! So just have to wait around really

firsttimemum55 · 30/08/2019 16:46

@AllHopeAndNoResults also what type of CM are you getting?

firsttimemum55 · 30/08/2019 16:49

@Carley321 did you end up ordering the thermometer?

Regarding short luteal phase mine is usually between 11-12 days, shortest was 10. It worries me a bit as well but I've managed to conceive alright. I also have a short follicular phase so in August I actually had 2 periods.

Anyway I read loads around it and I saw many women had successfully conceived with luteal phases as short as 9days. I think if you are worried go speak to your doctor but try temping first and see if that does it for you xx

firsttimemum55 · 30/08/2019 16:51

@Carley321 sorry I meant in August I had 2 cycles didn't have my second period as got pregnant.

Skyla01 · 30/08/2019 18:34

@GoodCow I would try to keep testing for a few more days in case you ovulate later than you think. I ovulated around cd20 this cycle, and cd26 last cycle. Although I knew my cycles were long after the pill.

@firsttimemum55 that's all so exciting!

I'm 5 or 6dpo. Really hoping AF doesn't appear next week! Although feeling fairly chilled this cycle. I don't think I'll be too upset if AF shows.

Carley321 · 30/08/2019 20:21

@AllHopeAndNoResults I’m going to book privately for a hsg. I have to ring in the morning. Your right the stress and anxiety over it is still there so I doubt waiting another month is going to do anything positive. I’ve spoke to my doctor about my symptoms which is why she referred me.

What kind of CM? You may ovulate early?

@firsttimemum55thanks for sharing. That already makes me feel better about it 😊. I will still mention it to my doctor when I can though. I have a long follicular phase.
I didn’t order I’ve been to in my own head about this booking privately lol. But I will order one I think. I’m going in armed the next cycle we get chance to smep. 👍 hope your well 😊.

Has anyone heard of fertility smart vitamins?

Carley321 · 30/08/2019 20:22

Good luck @skyla01 🤞🤞🤞
