Ask away, whether it's OPK's, LH, Temping (BBT), Surges, lines, DPO's, ask away, I have worked for the big boys of fertility and some of the smaller ones....

Eeek. sorry, see so many of these, they're usually CD across the bottom..

Aim for quality over quantity once you get your ovulation date figured out.

I kept forgetting to temp and lh test as it was Christmas but I did manage to get a peak on the 23/12 and following day was a high reading also but now I’m wondering temp wise would I have ovulated after this prediction?

@sweetpea12
Temp rise should follow a day or so after peak, so it's possible your 'peak' was in fact the back end of the LH surge around 23rd?

@EvelineUK oh thank you. I’m trying to log info when I can but also not obsess over it all as this is my 6 month TTC just need to hope I get lucky I think Smile

Trying2019 · 31/12/2019 15:53

@evelineuk just a quick question. I have had a positive OPK day 18 my last two cycles. Im due to get the day 21 blood test this month. Whats the best day to go? I usually start spotting 10 DPO and my period arrives 12 dpo. I dont want to do tje test too early and the results not be accurate thanks 😀 xx

EvelineUK · 02/01/2020 11:28

@Trying2019
As the name suggests your day 21 should be your peak progesterone reading 21 days after your period starts. In your case this would be around day 24.

Does anyone know does bbt generally stay high right up until period comes? I’ve twice had two high readings over 37 once after Ov and another this week but usually mine lowers below 36.90 shortly after the peak

Ellabella234 · 02/01/2020 12:49

Hello! any help?
I know this is a negative in terms of a surge or ovulation happening in next 12-36hrs (needs to be as dark or darker than the first line). But does it mean anything at all? Does it mean it is building and on its way soon? This mornings test.
Thanks for any advice x

@Sweetpea12 Usually it is a peak of a couple of days a day or so after ovulation, but no two people are the same, so I'm sure it's normal

OP posts:
EvelineUK · 02/01/2020 13:14

Hi @Ellabella234 that doesn't really give us many clues, it is essentially a negative result, you will always have a base level of LH in your urine as it doesn't break down that quickly from your last surge. Also not sure how dry/old the test is as this will also leave a visible line in the test zone...

@EvelineUK thank you my bbt usually doesn’t stay high but I haven’t felt great so unless that’s causing it

EvelineUK · 02/01/2020 15:24

There's a lot of flu etc going around so may well be a virus....

@EvelineUK hi! I wonder if you have any insight as to when I ovulated? I seem to have another hike in my BBT the past three days!

Ignore the yellow line, that one is simply made up by the app, my temp line is on there and my CM.

Thank you!

Livingmagicallyagain · 28/01/2020 09:47

CM was stretchy and EW like on days 9+10 as well as days 11+12.

EvelineUK · 28/01/2020 10:14

@Livingmagicallyagain
Yeh if I was guessing I would say around cd10? Would be better with an LH test as well to confirm

OP posts:
Livingmagicallyagain · 28/01/2020 10:34

Thank you. I’ve decided to have a break from LH tracking this cycle, to lower my stress. So I’m either 5 or 8 dpo now! More than likely 8.

EvelineUK · 28/01/2020 10:59

Why do you find LH testing more stressful than temping?

Any thoughts on this @EvelineUK Only on cyle 2 and this is my first month of ov testing.

Hmmm not seeing a definite peak there... could have been one of the ones you missed or yet to come, you seem to have quite a high level of LH, do you have PCOS?

OP posts:
xxlannixx · 28/01/2020 12:23

@EvelineUK well the LH figures are made from the app so dont think theu are very accurate? I have never been diagnosed with PCOS and conceived my daughter who is now 8 within 6 months of TTC.?

EvelineUK · 28/01/2020 12:48

Fair enough, just wanted to check, you're right those apps 'Guess' what the result is, and are only as good as the kit you use.

OP posts:
xxlannixx · 28/01/2020 12:58

@EvelineUK what kit would you reccomend as there are so many on the market now. I want to keep track of my Ovulation to get a better idea. My OH works away in the week so is going to make our conceiving tricky.

EvelineUK · 28/01/2020 13:14

Unfortunately I am not allowed to recommend a particular kit, but a kit that measures the LH using either a reader or a companion app will always take the guesswork out of it. Clearblue, MyLotus and Eveline all make similar kits.

@EvelineUk
Hi there (unsure if I have tagged you properly!) I have just ordered a bbt thermometer as we have just recently started TTC. Having read this thread and looked at other people's charts am I right in thinking there is a drop in bbt before a spike when ovulation has occurred? Would the drop be an indication "peak" is imminent?
I have quite clear CM cycles but would like to use bbt along with opk to make sure I am reading my body right.

EvelineUK · 28/01/2020 15:58

@TangBloodyFastic
There is a peak in LH (OPK) as you ovulate, or just before, the BBT rise comes a day or so later as the oven warms up ready for the egg. I'm not sure how many people see a dip before the BBT rise, so I'm not sure if you can use it to show the time of ovulation.

Hope this helps?
