I couldn't find an August Bus so thought I'd set one up! AF got me this morning ☹️

Age 28
CD1
Cycle 5
TTC 1

Have tried temping and testing, relaxed it all a fair bit last cycle due to my temporary insanity!

@Yougottabekittenme I think I must have an obsessive personality also 🤔 that would explain a few things!

@whatsthecraic91 I did still test but not as obsessively. I did chill out a bit with that and I did notice an effect on our sex. I was definitely sucking the fun out of it!!

Welcome @Anny27!

I'm trying to change my focus to getting my body and mind as fit and healthy as possible for my future baby/ies. I'm hoping if I look at it that way my BFP will just happen one day where I won't have been POAS every single day willing it to happen!

What plan of attack has everyone got this month? I'm trying to kill time until ovulation (boo to long cycles!) but have started DTD every 3rd day and will use cb opk from Saturday. Feeling good about this month- determined to maximise our chances!

NLouise123 · 11/07/2019 12:35

@Skyla01 I've just stopped spotting. But we've been DTD regularly regardless haha. This is cycle 2 for me. I just hope this cycle isn't 54 days long again!

I don't know wether to track OV, if it's going to be a long cycle, then I'd have no idea when to test!

Anny27 · 11/07/2019 13:45

@skyla01 we are doing SMEP (sperm meets egg plan) this month. So dtd every other day and then when you get a positive ovulation test, dtd every day for 3 days, skip a day and then dtd once more

Apparently its quite successful so fingers crossed!

Will be hard work though haha

Skyla01 · 11/07/2019 14:14

@Anny27 I tried smep but gave up when I realised how long my cycle was! I think it's a great plan for normal-length cycles.

@NLouise123 hear you about the long cycles! I'm going to start testing on cd15 so I don't miss anything. I bought a cb test with 20 sticks so I hope that will be enough! Not sure if it'll work as well with long cycles, but last month I didn't have a clue about ovulation and drove me a bit mad. Will feel in a bit more control this time.

Yougottabekittenme · 11/07/2019 16:28

@Anny27 we are going to try SMEP this month too, the past couple of cycles we’ve just been trying everyday during what I thought was my fertile time by tracking my CM so going to change it up this month and hopefully that helps!!

Anny27 · 11/07/2019 19:06

@Skyla01 yeah i think for longer cycles it might be a bit much! Evefy 3 days sounds good :)

@Yougottabekittenme good luck with SMEP as well :) I think its more manageable than everyday but still feels like you are taking control of TTC :D

MrsG3 · 11/07/2019 19:33

Hi all 👋 I've had to get of the July bus as currently on CD3 so wondering if I can join you lovely ladies?

We're a few cycles in now trying for #3. Only used apps so far for tracking things so I've ordered Clearblue opk tests and preseed and even considering trying SMEP this month in the hope it may help!

Hopefully August is the month of bfps for us all 😀

Anny27 · 11/07/2019 20:09

Welcome @mrsg3 :)

What is preseed? Have heard a few ladies talking about it but not sure what it is?

Fingers crossed its a BFP for you in August :)

MrsG3 · 12/07/2019 08:17

@Anny27 it's made by first response and it's fertility friendly lubricant. Seen people mention it on a few other posts so figured it's worth a shot! It's currently half price in Superdrug 😀

Goingbacktokansascity · 12/07/2019 13:50

@Anny27 @MrsG3 we used preseed when we got pregnant, my friend recommended it as whenever she’s used it she’s got pregnant but I was very skeptical but it’s fairly inexpensive and definitely does no harm!

Goingbacktokansascity · 12/07/2019 13:59

Anyone CD8?!

Louise190 · 12/07/2019 17:07

You can get various makes of pressed that are all approved, I got mine on Amazon, Conceive Plus I think it's called.

CB digital arrived today. How ridiculous is it that I am excited to POAS? 🙄🙄 CD 5 for me and not supposed to start it until CD 7!

Don’t know what’s going on! Was due AF 4 days ago, had a tiny amount of spotting yesterday morning and then nothing so did a test this morning and a BFN! Just want to start properly so I can start trying again :(

Skyla01 · 13/07/2019 10:43

@Louise190 I used my first cb opk this morning. Empty circle as expected but hope I'll get smiley faces soon! Have left the box out in the bathroom in an attempt to remind me to do one every morning, expect it'll be easy to forget!

@Yougottabekittenme that's very annoying about your late af and BFN. Hopefully you'll get an answer soon, and indeed you can move on. Sometimes people don't get bfp until they are quite late though do you're not out yet.

Anny27 · 13/07/2019 10:45

@Skyla01 i used to take them in the morning untill I read that you should do the OPKs in the late afternoon otherwhise you might miss the first day of your LH surge e.g. morning might be negative but afternoon might be positive and then you wouldn't know untill the next morning in which you could incorrectly class that as the first day.

Might be something to think about :)

Skyla01 · 13/07/2019 10:51

@Anny27 thanks, I had heard that. Given the price of cb tests not sure I fancy twice a day testing! But I'll see how many sticks I have left by the time I get a flashing smiley. Also whilst a static smiley would be great, I'll use flashing smiley as a signal to DTD more anyway, so hopefully I'll be covered.

One of the reasons I went for cb over cheapie opk is that the cheapie ones are best to test in the afternoon. I'd be at work then and didn't fancy testing in the work loos!

Anny27 · 13/07/2019 10:54

@skyla01 looks like you have it covered :D

Yougottabekittenme · 13/07/2019 11:26

I’ve been using cheap internet test, I bough ten in bulk, do you think I should buy an expensive chemist one? First Response? Or just wait a few more days, there was nothing on the test I took, not even a faint line!

PeterPeterson · 13/07/2019 12:06

Hello everyone, can I jump on the bus too, I've been lurking on this board for a while now, too nervous to actually post.

Age: 25
TTC: #2
Cycle: 7
CD: 6 of 29
AF/BFP due: 6th August

Sleepyhead11 · 13/07/2019 13:10

Hello

@louise190 studying sounds good. What's your subject?

I am re writing my novel so it can go out on sub ( have an agent now, I would have killed for an agent a year ago.) Thought TTC would be easier than repeated literary knockbacks as the probavility is higher, but it's really not. If anything it's harder because everyone else is just 'falling' pregnant. Horrible term. And to me six months seems like ages. My dad is unwell at the moment too and it's so important to me he gets to meet his grandchild.

Still the novel is my focus. Lots of late nights in the library after work.

Cb opk is waiting for us in the Amazon locker, but CD five today and out of town. Do will collect it tomorrow though. My cycles are 27 or 29 days, never 28, so think I will start weeing on sticks on cd8.

Smep sounds amazing, although might just go for sex every day from flashing smiley. Does this sound like a good plan?

Other distractions this month includewatching BBCs I Claudius, with Brian blessed. Never seen it but heard it's good. Also long walks, swimming, cooking and going out for coffee.

Does anyone have a way to mentally protect yourself in AF week please? I always find it so crushing. Not due til Aug 5 though at earliest.

Sleepyhead11 · 13/07/2019 13:12

Hi @petetpeterson

I hope this is your month. Are you trying anything different this month?

Goingbacktokansascity · 14/07/2019 07:09

First time using the Femometer app so 🤞🏽 They have better luck at interpreting the OPK than I do on my own, not sure if my PCOS means the hormone levels aren’t quite right

Skyla01 · 14/07/2019 09:41

Welcome @PeterPeterson!

I only started using cb digital yesterday. Blank circle 1st day but flashing smiley this morning! A bit surprised, excited to see if s static smiley appears in a few days! Have you started testing @Louise190?

Ginfizz90 · 14/07/2019 10:07
