I couldn't find an August Bus so thought I'd set one up! AF got me this morning ☹️

Have tried temping and testing, relaxed it all a fair bit last cycle due to my temporary insanity!

@Louise190 thank you for the lovely welcome. Don’t think it’s helped that I’ve done lots of whooping cough vaccinations in work lately so seen so many pregnant people and just feel it’s never going to happen again.

I’m sorry ur feeling down too. It’s horrible isn’t it, not only does AF arrive but makes u feel rubbish physically and mentally when it does.x

Louise190 · 09/07/2019 19:24

@June1987 oh no, that can't be easy! I work in an office of mostly men so luckily I can hide from it day to day! Although I fear I may not be so appreciative of them when I am pregnant! 🙈

Hi @June1987 I know what you mean about long cycles- my last one was 44 days! Feels like a lifetime between fertile windows. I thought conceiving within 6 months would be easily doable, but I'm 4 months in and only two periods to show for it! Going to stay thinking positive though and give this month a good crack! Will be so excited if i ovulate earlier this month.

June1987 · 09/07/2019 19:57

@Skyla01 its hard isn’t it because it makes it harder to conceive. As we have a 4 year old I didn’t think it would take very long but it just seems to take forever.

@Louise190 My husband works with all males apart from one women and I think in her 2 pregnancies they have actually been far nicer than women in my work are. Think they are slightly scared of pregnant women lol.

AF/BFP: 4th August

Absolutely convinced I was pregnant before AF showed up I am really down, I feel like it’s never going to happen for me Sad

Sleepyhead11 · 09/07/2019 21:27

@tiredmama Oh I detest people who have accidents. My perfect cousin had one, and I felt, well that's bloody typical of her. I hate this envy too and resentment.

@june1987 it's gutting, I'm so sorry.

@whatsthecraic91 I convinced myself too, and feel the same, but trying to see my new cycle as a clean sheet.

Please can you tell me what lovely distractions you all have in store for this cycle?I would love to know.

ilovecoconutmango · 09/07/2019 21:37

Hello, I would like to join. I have been lurking for a while but decided to sign up as I don't really want to talk about TTC with anyone in real life, apart from my husband.

I am hoping to conceive my first baby. I have a regular 28 day cycle and track it with an app. I track CM too but that's it. I haven't tried temping or anything yet.

How long did you TTC before temping and other things?

Age 31
Cycle 2
CD 2

Good luck to us all Smile

whatsthecraic91 · 09/07/2019 22:12

@Sleepyhead11 how many cycles have you been trying?

@ilovecoconutmango Last month was the first month I properly tracked and used OPKs, I think that’s why I was so sure I was pregnant!! It’s seriously stressful this TTC business, I wish I could relax

Skyla01 · 09/07/2019 22:14

Sorry to those of you struggling with a new cycle. I cope better by having lots of other things to think about / look forward to. So I focus on my job, seeing friends and family, having fun stuff lined up for weekends. Planning holidays is a bit harder but try and keep some ideas coming. We also pay attention to ttc cycle timings and dtd, but try to not let it take over. And when AF comes I enjoy a few drinks :)

@ilovecoconutmango I am on my 3rd cycle and going to start using opk for the first time. My cycles are long and irregular though after coming off the pill so it's hard to work out what's going on just now. If my cycle was regular I might not bother except use an app to keep track.

Louise190 · 10/07/2019 06:53

Hi @whatsthecraic91 @ilovecoconutmango, welcome.

I started testing and temping on cycle 3. I promptly gave up temping on cycle 4 because I found myself obsessing over the changes and spending too much time trying to find a blog or something that would tell me what I wanted to hear. I very much need my sleep and I found temping interrupted that. I've got a CB digi on the way as I didn't get on with the cheapie OPKs!

OP posts:
whatsthecraic91 · 10/07/2019 07:21

@Louise190 see I have become a bit obsessed last cycle, I used the IC OPKs and they did work for me. I don’t know if I should use them again this cycle or just see what happens! I’m cycle 7 now so I am getting worried and I’m trying to chill but I just can’t - it’s all I think about and I know that’s not healthy.

Sleepyhead11 · 10/07/2019 10:39

@whatsthecraic91 I'm cycle six, and going to use the clear blue digital thingimajig for the first time this month. It's a bit scary that it gave you false hope, but I think at the moment a sneeze would give me hope.

Cb arriving tomorrow. What cycle day do folk start testing?

@Skyla01 thank you for listing distractions. I am going to see a play on the fifth, just before AF due, and because the hairdresser didn' t manage to finish my hair before I needed to be at work (the dye took ages so she couldn't cut it so I have a voucher to go back.) Doing that sixth Aug as when AF due, but desperately hoping she doesn't show next month.

What other distractions do people have planned? The women in my family are stupidly fertile, so it seems unfair.

FutureMrsD · 10/07/2019 13:18

Sounds ridiculous but I have booked a holiday for when AF came the last time because I was so cheesed off! Though we did have a lovely time in Amsterdam at the end of May and looking forward to going to Italy at the end of August... not that this does much for our baby savings! Hey ho, we can save later! 😂
We also have a few gigs and a festival lined up, so that’s distracted me slightly.

Skyla01 · 10/07/2019 15:31

@Sleepyhead11 this will be my first month using cb. I'm not sure when to start testing. Are your cycles regular? I think it suggests the day to start testing in the instructions. Last cycle I ovulated on cd30, but don't want to miss a surge if my cycle is shorter this month so I'm planning to start on cd15 (I have long cycles so bought the box with 20 sticks).

ilovecoconutmango · 10/07/2019 18:15

Thanks for your input ladies. As I am new to TTC I think I will just stick with my cycle tracking app and monitoring my CM for now. I am worried if I start using OPKs I will become too preoccupied with it all.

@FutureMrsD sounds fun, it's always nice to have something to look forward to. Holidays are good for the soul! Plus another month means another pay packet for savings anyway Wink

Am2019 · 10/07/2019 18:22

Hi there

I would like to join if that's ok :)

TTC: #1
Cycle day: 30 (35 day cycle but have all the signs of AF :( )
Cycle #11 technically but only started OPK/temping 3/4 months ago

Will really struggle this month when AF comes, nice to know there's lots of support on here as I find it so heartbreaking every month, especially coming from a family of girls who conceived first time (grandma, mum and sister)

Lots of luck to everyone xx

Yougottabekittenme · 10/07/2019 18:30

Hi all,

I’ve unfortunately had to leave the July train, I really thought I was successful this month!! I’m going to hop on here!

Hi I’m going to join!
Age- 26
TTC (trying to conceive) no.2
Cycle 1
CD (cycle day) 6
AF/ BFP (big fat positive) due 6th August

Good luck to everyone this month!

June1987 · 10/07/2019 19:33

@Yougottabekittenme is you don’t have AF yet then your still in with a shot!

AF hitting me hard today and it’s my none working day so tried to keep my self as occupied as possible while son was at school and hubby at work.
Why is this so heartbreaking every month. Find it so hard when people accidentally fall pregnant and we are all trying and struggling.

Yougottabekittenme · 10/07/2019 20:29

@June1987 I’ve started spotting which means AF is on route, I also took a test the day before it was due and absolutely nothing, not even a faint line, I’ll give it till the end of the week to test again but I’m not holding out hope!
It’s so hard seeing people pregnant, I feel an overwhelming anger and sadness, it hits me like a wall

Louise190 · 10/07/2019 20:42

@whatsthecraic91 I was obsessed too on the cycle that I temped and tested!

I saw my dr today and he told me to calm down - there's a 70% chance of falling pregnant in the first year so chill out and enjoy it. My cycles are regular so he's confident I ovulate at 14 days. He also said that it's proven that sperm count is lower in men who have lots of sex. He said to abstain a few days before you think you'll be most fertile. I will still use CB digi this month to try and see when I do actually ovulate as my cycles are only 26 days so one of the phases must shorter!

@Sleepyhead11 I am currently studying so I will try to focus on that more. I have just joined a gym and also want to spend more time on self care; reading, yoga, baths, pampering etc. I just need to reset my mind to trigger when I'm getting obsessive to distract myself with something else!

Welcome @Am2019 There's always support and a sympathetic and understanding ear here!

Welcome @Yougottabekittenme when was AF due?

Welcome @Goingbacktokansascity ! I see this is your first cycle! Good luck!!

@June1987 well done for trying to stay distracted! It's so hard when you want something so bad!

Yougottabekittenme · 10/07/2019 21:02

@Louise190 due yesterday, signs of starting today! Your idea of self care sounds lovely, I’ve also rejoined the gym and am looking forward to getting back into the classes! I have an obsessive personality so the moment I set my sights on something I am determined for it! In the most part good but definitely not for this, I have every app, test, tracking system going but at the end of the day I can’t control what goes on in there 😂

whatsthecraic91 · 10/07/2019 22:17

@Sleepyhead11 I start testing CD11 so I don’t miss it! Was CD 17 before I got a positive last month even tho it was a 28 day cycle 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Louise190 I don’t know if I will OPK this cycle my DP wants me to chill out too so I’ll maybe not any just enjoy all the sex 😂

I have been eating super healthy, taking my vitamins and exercising for the last week or so, so hopefully that helps things along too and gives me something else to focus on

Anny27 · 10/07/2019 22:31
