It's Father Nature's (can't be a woman, why would she be so mean?) cruel trick that AF and pg symptoms are so similar. That's why I'm not getting my hopes up this month because last month I had great symptoms and AF came same as usual.

Well, at least if AF isn't here, there is still a chance . Here's hoping this thread continues to be lucky....

MrsWednesday · 27/09/2004 13:17

Sorry Minnie1, missed your message. I'm due on next Monday. Seven more days and counting...

Mirage · 27/09/2004 13:19

Haven't got time to read all the messages as off to mums & tots in a minute.

Cobweb, the one sided pain is probably a cyst on the ovary (forgotten its proper name),that occurs on the side that the fertilized egg was released from.It supplies hormones to sustain the preganancy if I remember rightly. It is 100% normal.

Will reply properly later-must dash.

alterego · 27/09/2004 13:26

Congratulations cobweb,

LIke you I'm reluctnat to move onto the "anyone due in" threads just yet - seems to be tempting fate .... I have a quick peek at the April 05 ones every now and then but won't join it until pg is at least 12 weeks and scan is unproblematic.

Cobweb · 27/09/2004 13:26

Thank you Mirage you have eased my worries xxx

CP3 it might be worth testing just to take your mind off it and all the worrying, my period wasn't due until Sat but I tested on Thurs and it was a positive xxx fingers crossed for you babe xxx

Fingers crossed for you MrsWednesday xxx

Cobweb · 27/09/2004 13:27

Alterego you echoed the thoughts in my head, thanks for understanding. I think I will here for a while xxx

Tessiebear · 27/09/2004 13:59

Wifeof - good luck - hope to see you back here with a BFP soon after Xmas
Tania - my DH always likes sneaking off for quickies at partys and functions too!

MINNIE1 · 27/09/2004 14:05

MrsWednesday, O i can't wait fingers crossed...

Sexyandhappy · 27/09/2004 16:49

Hi
Can anyone explain (and apologies if it's already explained..... it's a long thread ) how does the temperature thing works ?
I.e. do I take my temp every evening and will know when I am ovulating if i have a higher temp?

See my periods didn't come at all a few weeks ago but I knew I wasn't pregnant so I didn't care (interestingly it was after my smear test!)... then I had them (a bit like if I had missed 1 period),.... now I think they should come later this week.... then I am hoping to concieve from then on....
Wish me luck

Geordie · 27/09/2004 16:52

HI,

the temping thing...you need to take your temp at the same time every morning..then after ovulation your temps are higher and remain highre if you are pregnant...if not they drop around the time of your af (period). You can chart online and read up on this and other ways to know fertility signs at fertility friend

good luck

hester · 27/09/2004 17:10

This thread is so busy I can't keep up!

Cobweb, I'm so pleased for you

Tania, so sorry - big hugs from me.

Minnie - I've had this too. Sounds a bit early for an implantation bleed. My GP said it could be any number of things (slight abrasion during sex?) and not to worry about it unless it keeps happening.

Wifeof - look forward to seeing you back in the new year.

Sexyandhappy - I'm sure someone here will give you better advice, but my understanding is that you should take your temperature (using a special fertility thermometer) every morning as soon as you wake up, ideally at the same time each day, and BEFORE getting up, drinking tea etc. Your temperature should go up when you ovulate, and ideally you would start BDing a day or two before this. Once you have ovulated you have only 12-24 hours left to conceive. So this method is best used if you chart your temperatures over a number of months, so you have a good idea of when to start BDing. A number of things can affect the accuracy of this method (having a cold etc) so it's best used in conjunction with other methods e.g. checking your cervical mucus, using ovulation predictor sticks.

I am ovulating today! Wish me luck

Sexyandhappy · 27/09/2004 17:16

Good luck then Hester and thanks to you and Geordie !
I haven't again had much if any discharge.... this is getting weird... hoping I am not menopausal... does anyone know the symptoms of early menopause ?

MINNIE1 · 27/09/2004 20:43

hester, I was thinking the same (to early for ov) well that has to come yet!!!

Sexyandhappy, don't know much about the menopause and don't want to not for a few years yet anyway... I hope you have loads of luck on this thread with TTC..

Mirage · 27/09/2004 21:16

Cobweb,I'm glad that you're feeling reassured. On the way out the door, the name of that cyst came to me'corpus luteum'.

I still don't feel pregnant, just hungry & tired,so does anyone mind if I lurk around here for a while? I don't want to tempt fate & move to 'due in June' just yet.

My lovely GP said that as soon as he saw my name on his patient list,he knew that I was pregnant & even checked he had a green maternity form on his desk for me.My EDD is 4th June.He is booking me an early scan when I am 6 weeks +

Congratulations Alterego(smile)

Babydust to everyone ttc.

Tessiebear · 27/09/2004 21:18

Evening all - another quick question - When your CM changes (gets thicker/stringy etc) does that mean you are ABOUT to OV you ARE OVing OR WHAT?

cp3 · 28/09/2004 08:12

Got Af, knoew the trip to the gym would do it Feel like poo

Cobweb · 28/09/2004 08:33

+++Big Hugs+++ CP3 xxx

Thanks for the cyst name Mirage. My due date will be about 5 June, but like you I feel its too early to go over there yet, so I am staying here for a bit.

Thinking of everyone today who are BDing, got AF's or testing xxx

runtus · 28/09/2004 09:08

Morning ladies, Long time no post! I've been away from the office for a while so I haven't been able to post for a bit......feel like I've really missed loads! Big Congrats to all those that have got BFP , I can't go through the whole post cos there is just too much but I think I've picked up on a few good messages

I have actually managed to almost forget aboutmy cycle over the last week or so, now on CD29 and fingers crossed for this month. One of my friends told me she had a good feeling for us this month, so now my hopes are obviously sky high! Trying very hard not to think about it every other mintue today but I'm sure I will fail and end up posting shed loads today.......ho well, here we go again.

sweetheart · 28/09/2004 09:19

Sorry to bring this thread down so early in the morning ladies but I feel I need to turn to you for support

The reason I have been feeling OK about no BFP's is because I have been looking forward to my gyne appointment so I could get this sorted out once and for all.

This morning I got a letter saying my appointment for tomorrow has been cancelled and I have to wait another month before another one is available.

I feel like it's all come crashing down around me and I feel REALLy stupid that this has brought me close to tears

sorry - will try and regain my enthusiausm after my morning cup of tea.

sweetheart · 28/09/2004 09:20

Sorry meant BFN's

MrsWednesday · 28/09/2004 09:46

So sorry you are feeling fed up sweetheart. It's not surprising - it sounds like the appointment was your consolation, something to take your mind off the bfns. And now it's been moved it's another whole month to wait. This TTC lark is so frustrating as it is, without things like this happening.

Hugs to you to cp3, sorry AF has got you .

Keeping my fingers crossed for you runtus.

runtus · 28/09/2004 09:49

Sweetheart, sorry to hear your bad news - how can they just cancel on you like that??! I would ring them up and let them know how unhappy you are about it, they should treat their patients with a bit more respect.

As for feeling upset about it and needing a good cry, thats what we are here for so you go for it love. There is nothing to feel daft about, these things matter and it's no wonder you feel like bursting into tears - I would too!

So have a good cry, make yourself a cup of tea (with sugar, obviously) and then go and get a big cake for elevenses........if you don't deserve one today you never will!

sweetheart · 28/09/2004 09:59

thank you

Runtus, you bring a smile to my face everytime (and you KNOW I can't resist cake!!!)

I've tried phoning the hospital but it is going straight to the secretary's answer phone. I'm gussing that they cancelled a load of appointments and so will not be taking any calls today - will keep trying though.

I pigged out on a massive chinese last night after my weight watchers meeting and wish I'd left it until tonight now - Oh well a bottle of wine will have to do instead then.

runtus · 28/09/2004 10:02

I generally find that a bottle or two of wine is a good substitute for most things (IYKWIM )

sweetheart · 28/09/2004 10:10

two bottles - now there's an idea!!!!
