@VenusStarr aww hun that's unlucky af while on your hols. Hopefully you will not need any pain killers though. Hope you have a nice relaxing time.

@Lilimum7 the aspirin may help your periods be healthier, my periods had gotten shorter and were mostly brown blood for a few months and I tried taking aspirin for a cycle and it was much healthier after that. This was before my first miscarriage. May have been a coincidence but I think it did help.

Sorry it's so long til your rmc results but hopefully they'll find something they can treat.

AliceRR · 10/06/2019 21:41

@Lilimum7 😂 I don’t tell DH how much I POAS lol as bed probably think I’m strange... I think I ov’d on day CD16 last cycle and CD14 the cycle before (but that was the shortest cycle I think I’ve ever had / 26 days). CB is expensive and I think I’ll be annoyed if I don’t get a static smiley this cycle!

I’m ok thanks @VenusStarr Feeling a bit low, have a cold and have af but can’t complain lol. I hope you’re ok? Enjoy your hol x

@moonpeace I think I understand that fear of “tempting fate”

@Beaglemum93 I think once you

AliceRR · 10/06/2019 21:43

meant to say I think once you’ve had a loss it’s understandable you’ll worth. I lost my first the day before my due date at 39+6 so I even once I get my BFP I don’t think I’ll feel “safe” until the baby is alive in my arms and even then I’m sure I won’t believe jt

InDreamland · 10/06/2019 22:19

@Lilimum7 I'm really hoping you can get some answers from rmc. You've been through a really horrid time and deserve all the support available from the NHS.

@Lilimum7 @AliceRR @Pop1234 @Avocuddles @VenusStarr thank you for your positivity. Since posting I've not had any more on pad or wiping yet however I've never had IB with previous 2 pregnancies so no idea what that looks like plus AF is due today. My stupid body ...... just so annoying. No idea what it's doing.

InDreamland · 10/06/2019 22:22

Sorry @Pop1234 just to answer your question. My previous 2 losses were not day of AF. First loss was mmc, discovered days before 12 week scan. Second loss was just under 5 weeks.

Lilimum7 · 10/06/2019 22:24

@InDreamland fingers crossed 🤞 that was IB and you'll now have h&h 9 months xx

@Avocuddles and @Lilimum7 please can I join you on cd2 please? This is my second af since my mc (first one wasn't a true period as I hadn't ovulated) and this one is really a bad one. Had me awake at 3 am looking for painkillers 😕 and not much better today. Has anyone else had AFs become more painful and heavier after their mc?

@InDreamland I had a small bit of IB with my son 16 years ago and he is now 15 and non with my last pg which ended in a natural mc at 7 weeks. I think each and every pregnancy is totally different, and gives us very little clues on the outcome. I really hope your little bean is just getting comfy.

Lilimum7 · 10/06/2019 22:42

@Kayjay2018 hello cycle buddy. I think it is quite normal for your AF to be very heavy and crampy after mc. I remember the first true AF after my mmc in October was horrendous I bled so bad I needed iron tablets honest I thought something was broken and almost went to A&E. Hopefully this will settle down for your next cycle (Fx that you won't see another AF for at least 10 months because you will have a rainbow) it's really nice when you have cycle buddies to travel this journey with x

Treaclepie19 · 10/06/2019 22:56

@Kayjay2018 yeah my bleeding has got worse each time (MC, Ds and Ds we lost)
Fingers crossed you don't have to see it for long.

Mistymeow · 11/06/2019 00:02

@knitkitty yes that’s a much better name- a sister thread. It’s nice to see how sensitive we all are to each other’s feelings. I remember feeling lost and scared when I fell pregnant again in January. I’m so glad you’ve started up a new thread and I hope to join you soon! I understand that you’re very nervous and I’ll be thinking of you, but no spotting or cramps is a good sign. Please keep dropping in and if you need a hand hold I’m here! That goes for everyone else too ;)
@InDreamland please don’t put yourself down! You do not have a rubbish body, it’s doing a very good job falling pregnant despite the sperm issues. At this stage a bit of brown spotting around when your period is due is completely normal. I had this last time and I reassured myself by saying if I hadn’t tested early I would be getting excited thinking it’s implantation bleeding. I know it’s scary but chances are it’s implantation. Don’t hesitate to call the doctor if it’s making you anxious all the time. Thinking of you.
@Lilimum7 hmm have you seen a gynaecologist about your cycles? Where are you with your rmc appointments?
@Pop1234 thanks for the info! That’s reassuring. I’m considering the aspirin but unsure about taking anything until a doctor tells me to. Not long now until dr S!

Lilimum7 · 11/06/2019 00:08

@Mistymeow I have my second appointment in August. I'm going to ask GP for 21day bloods this cycle because if I have a hormone imbalance ie low progesterone that can be sorted out.

OP posts:
InDreamland · 11/06/2019 06:33

Thank you @Lilimum7 @Kayjay2018 @Mistymeow I guess it's just a waiting game and trying to understand my body which I feel has let me down for 6 years. Nothing else on pad this morning or when I wiped but still expecting to start bleeding soon.

DH needs to get himself to start on that clinical trial. Anyone else's DH/DP on any treatment for his swimmers? Or undergoing any investigations? So much focus is on the woman and what's going on with her and forget it takes 2.

@Lilimum7 hope GP agrees to 21 day bloods. Should do after everything you've been through.

@Mistymeow on the asprin the consultant gynae at the infertility clinic initially told me to just start taking baby asprin from as soon as I got a BFP whilst I was tested for blood clotting but then when those results came back he said that for me there would be no need but that it wouldn't do any harm if I did. Confusing. Have read a lot online and some stuff ladies here have posted and I think I personally would not take it unless I needed to. It's a simple blood test though so should be easy to request it.

AliceRR · 11/06/2019 07:52

@InDreamland @Mistymeow I’m the baby aspirin, I might have mentioned that at the consultant appointment we had after the post mortem she said she’d put me on low dose aspirin from about 8 weeks if I get pregnant again. I carried to full term and there wasn’t anything to specifically suggest I would benefit from it so I think they are just prescribing it almost as if it’s FA but I’m with you in that I feel slightly uncomfortable something it unless I need i but I suppose I would look into it more if the time comes.

Pop1234 · 11/06/2019 09:40

@InDreamland glad there is nothing else this morning.

My DH is taking the Condensyl for his Dna fragmentation. Dr S requested a sample for sperm comet when we went last week. We haven't had any results back yet but he is convinced it is him for some reason, hence why he's started taking the Condensyl. Did your DH use sperm comet?

Lilimum7 · 11/06/2019 15:17

Well that's not good woke up today and AF is done not even spotting. Omg ladies I think I'm menopausal my periods have gone from 7 - 10 heavy painful days to this one only 1.5 days light and not even one cramp. Also my cycle is longer too. I'm crushed. If this is menopause that's it I'll never have a baby. I just don't understand what is happening and I can't get anyone (gp) to help me because Ive been referred so have to wait until August to ask anyone for help.

OP posts:
AliceRR · 11/06/2019 15:56

@Lilimum7 It is unlikely to be menapause. I think cycles do change and stress has an impact. I used to have five day long medium-heavy af and then a few years ago I changed to about 3 days and less heavy. I put it down to stress at the time as I had blood tests to check hormones and even an internal scan to check for PCOS and everything was clear. And obviously now since my pregnancy things have changed again but I think it takes time to settle down. You could try speaking to your GP again to see if there is anything to do to set your mind at rest but otherwise August is not as far away as it seems xx

AliceRR · 11/06/2019 15:57

And for the record my af is pretty much done too. I had one day of proper af then yesterday was pretty much spotting. Last night and this morning nothing but spotting a bit again 🤷🏻‍♀️ Xx

Lilimum7 · 11/06/2019 17:03

@AliceRR your probably right. I've gone into full on panic mode with out any evidence. Thank you I need someone to give my head a wobble. Maybe it's stress I'm so wound up that I'm likely to explode any minute. Thank you x

OP posts:
AliceRR · 11/06/2019 17:16

@Lilimum7 No problem. I get it. I tend to jump to conclusions and think the worst too but at least you’ve got your referral to be checked out x

Avocuddles · 11/06/2019 17:50

@Lilimum7 know it won't necessarily be any consolation but I fell pregnant in spite of 42 day long cycles and periods lasting no more than 2 days. I'd been off the pill for a year by that point and given up hope but the first month that I stopped 'trying' (whilst awaiting a fertility clinic referral) I fell unexpectedly pregnant. That pregnancy unfortunately only made it to seven weeks but I'm hopeful now that I might be able to get pregnant again. Fingers crossed your usual cycles will return ASAP but don't assume that you're not fertile even if they're all over the place!

Avocuddles · 11/06/2019 17:53

Ps how long did it take each of you to have your first AF after mc?

InDreamland · 11/06/2019 18:03

@AliceRR it does sound like asprin is recommended for a lot of pregnant women even if not needed. With you though that if I don't have the condition then why take it. Hope your AF does settle and go back closer to what was normal soon. Pregnancy and mc can really mess with cycles, mine are definitely way lighter and also shorter than pre-mc's.

@Lilimum7 I'm pretty sure i won't be menopause but if you are anxious insist on being seen by your GP. Don't take no for an answer.

@Pop1234 I've not heard of Condensyl. DH is now taking Proxeed though. Yes, we also had the sperm comet. Fx his results can give some answers.

AliceRR · 11/06/2019 18:14

@InDreamland Since posting earlier I have had a letter from consultant confirming what we discussed at the appointment and it does say the placenta was smaller than usual. They don’t say it contributed to our daughter’s death but it could be that this is part of the reason she has suggested aspirin as the letter later says aspirin from 8-12 weeks can help improve how the placenta functions in a future pregnancy. I suspect they would still prescribe it but I don’t want to get ahead of myself when I haven’t even got another BFP yet...
