@BambiOnIce80 so sorry about your nan Flowers

@Carley321 how is Mr doggie doing? I know exactly how tough that is Wine

I'm 9 dpo (cd26) but caved and did a test this morning as my boobs hurt, bfn Sad

Felinewoman · 14/01/2019 09:15

@Pinkywoo that's still very early though! Fingers crossed AF stays away and your next test brings some good news Smile

My period still hasn't arrived...but I'm also in bed with an awful cold, so that might interfere I guess. Doesn't help with the anxiety though

Felinewoman · 14/01/2019 09:18

@Carley321 I know how hard it is to have an unwell pet. I had a cat who was a very poorly rescue kitten when I first got him. I knew he had FIV but I wanted to give him a good life. He made it for 11 years. When his health declined and it was time to say goodbye it was horrible. I still get sad sometimes and it has been years since he died.

79andnotout · 14/01/2019 09:29

@Carley321 - sorry to hear about your sick dog. I'm dreading the day that comes for me. It's (hopefully) many years off but I'm already worried about it!

@BambiOnIce80 - sorry to hear about your nan. I had something similar, also raised by my grandmother until I moved to england when I was 10. She had dementia in my late teens. I was back visiting and spent a couple of hours sat with her and she was really lucid, and it was really nice. And she died the next day. I was so happy I got to spend those last few hours with her. Unfortunately not the case for my granddad who died when I was in the middle of my final year exams at uni, so I couldn't even make the funeral. Hope all the arranging goes okay. Enjoy those G&T's. x

VenusStarr · 14/01/2019 10:13

I'm sorry to hear about your dog @Carley321, I hope you're OK. It's so awful when our pets are sick. Hope he's comfortable x

I'm sorry to hear about your nan @BambiOnIce80, sending love ❀️

Glad you're appt has come through @79andnotout

Hope everyone is OK, I'm not posting much as Im not feeling great and don't want to bring the thread down. Am in the waiting room for a counselling appt, keep thinking about my last experience so not sure how this is going to go. Finally got my GP appt on Wednesday, it's been a long month. We've started work on our kitchen renovation this weekend, the builders should be in next week, so the house is upside down. It'll be worth it I know.

MrsRRC · 14/01/2019 10:49

@VenusStarr I hope you have a different experience this time. It’s good to have a project to concentrate on and a new kitchen provide opportunity for a enthusiastic overuse of fancy cookbooks and new kitchen stuff 😁

@Carley321 sorry to hear about your fur baby. Is there any news?

QuantumGirl · 14/01/2019 17:58

@VenusStarr I had my whole house renovated not long ago, please feel free to moan to me when it gets tough. It's all part of the process but do blood exciting when it's done.

Does any of you ladies know anything about essential oils? I'm interested in trying it to boost fertility but I also fancy myself as a nice witch apprentice πŸ§™β€β™€οΈπŸ§ΉπŸ˜‰

Amanda81 · 14/01/2019 18:01

@BambiOnIce80 so very sorry to hear your news. I hope you are managing. A similar thing happened with my DH and his gran, although he didn't make it in time to say goodbye. Dementia is such a cruel disease. Sending love πŸ’•. I also liked that temperature drop que suggesting that AF was coming. Amazing how quick it drops. I've decided to stick with the BBT'ing.

@Carley321 I hope the furbaby is doing better. It's hard looking after animals, I looked after my cat suffering with kidney failure...she hung for five years after diagnosis, and unfortunately last year I had to make 'that' decision. The hardest thing I have ever had to decide. I hope he gets the meds he needs, I am sure he will get the care and love.

Sorry that AF turned up @Russkispy.

@Andromeida59 - Hello! It's such a big decision isn't it! Congratulations for making the decision and FX it all goes well. What does IYK...mean?

@Pinkywoo - there's still time yet.

@Felinewoman - any update on AF? How many DPO are you?

AF turned up for me at the weekend ☹️. On to the next cycle (CD2 here). 😩😩. Determined to get my BMI down this cycle by 1.5...on abit of a quest with it. Since the Mc in nov, I've been comfort eating (and drinking) and need to get that under control. So, no alcohol for this cycle! I keep chanting my body is a temple πŸ€ͺ. If this cycle is my usual 28 days, AF will turn up on my birthday, let's hope it's a BFP instead.

I'm using CB advanced ovulation kit this cycle. Any useful tit-bits???

Felinewoman · 14/01/2019 18:24

@Amanda81 sorry to hear about the witch Sad fingers crossed for the next cycle.

I still haven't seen any blood...on cycle day 31 now. I don't know how many days post ovulation I am as I am not using an ovulation kit. Prediction wise it could be 10-15 or something like that depending on the length of my luteal phase which I don't know. If I go with the "sex-crazy-woman" indicator I am 12dpo.
I promised myself not to test again until CD36, because that's the length of a cycle I had a few months ago, the longest I ever recorded and I wasn't pregnant... So I might still be within my "normal".
Also I have a nasty cold which I am unable to shake and it's f*ing annoying!!!

Carley321 · 14/01/2019 19:16

Thank you all for your kind words. It’s an awful awful thing. He is part of our little family, he’s been with us just 2 years after we even met. He’s our little fur baby ❀️

He had another β€˜episode’ last night (whatever it is) the vets just don’t seem to interested after we refused the brain scan. So we are just left guessing and praying that he pulls through. He won’t bloody take the tablets we’ve been given so it’s hard at the mo to know any different. I can’t see a positive outlook deep down but just hope I am wrong. I will break my heart if I have to make β€˜that’ decision πŸ˜’.

Sorry about AF rearing for some, mine is defo on the way too. Just a dull stomach aches today so I know it’s just around the corner.

I think ovulation day was a sat this time and we did Thursday and Sunday so think I missed it.

@VenusStar sorry you’re feeling down. Hope you are ok. We are all here to talk 😊 so don’t be alone xx

@BambiOnIce80 hope you are holding up xxx

@QuantumGirl no clue when it comes to essential oils... but I’m intrigued and up for trying anything lol.

@Pinkywoo sorry about the bfn but still keeping 🀞 for you.

@Felinewomen still in the game 🀞🀞🀞.

Let’s get a bfp for dry January.

Amanda81 · 14/01/2019 19:17

@Felinewoman - so only this week to get through. Don't want to get your hopes up, but do they say that you can feel run down before getting a positive result? Fx.

Felinewoman · 14/01/2019 19:44

Yes, but it's also January and 50% of people I know have a cold...so it's hard to say. The only odd thing , apart from the long cycle, this month are the mild cramps I am having for a week. Unusually don't get cramping, only on the day when my period is due. So that's odd...I will find out in a few days. In the meantime I try to distract myself, which is hard when in bed feeling crap :-(

BambiOnIce80 · 14/01/2019 19:52

Thanks for the London Gin Club reference @MrsRRC 🍸 I'll be giving it a look of I end up in that neck of the woods 😎

Lovely to hear from you @Clare19821 πŸ™‚ Sorry work is sucky for your DP right now and fingers-crossed you have a good talk at the months end 🀞🏻

Welcome @Andromeida59 πŸ‘‹ Sounds like exciting times are upon you! I'm sure you don't need any tips if you're just starting out on your journey. The rest of us will keep you right if you're with us for a few cycles and decide to start tracking πŸ˜‰

Sorry for the BFN @Pinkywoo, but I wouldn't give it a second thought at 9dpo. You're definitely not anywhere near out yet πŸ€

Sounds like you've got a cast iron testing strategy @Felinewoman (I do love a plan!) πŸ‘ I hope AF stays away for you 🀞🏻

You're not bringing anybody or anything down @VenusStarr ❀️ I hope counselling wasn't a let down this time? I'm sure your kitchen work will be absolutely worth it πŸ‘ I did mine last year and I bloody love it! 😁

Not a clue about essential oils for fertility @QuantumGirl, but please do share what you find out πŸ™‚ I do love a nice massage, DP is quite good at it and essential oils would be a nice relaxing addition πŸ˜‰

Really sorry that AF arrived @Amanda81 πŸ’ CD2 here as well, so looks like we're still cycle buddies! 😁

I'm probably telling dog owning you to suck eggs here @Carley321, but have you tried molding cheese around the tablets?! πŸ’Š πŸ§€ When I had dogs they'd stand on their heads for their thyroxine if it was embedded in cheese! πŸ˜‚

Thank you all so very, very much for all the kind words you've sent me πŸ’– You have no idea how much that means to me at this tricky time.x

QuantumGirl · 14/01/2019 20:09

@Carley321 my dog loves sliced ham, the one for sandwiches. I wrap the tablets in ham, make it a nice tidy 'ham pillow' and give it to him, pushing it as far in his mouth as I can. Never fails. What breed of dog do you have?

QuantumGirl · 14/01/2019 20:11

@BambiOnIce80 you can count on us whenever you need it. There is always someone here to listen and help 😘

Carley321 · 14/01/2019 21:03

Well DP said he tried all sorts. But he obviously Isn’t himself and very very ill at the moment so off his food anyway. But I came home to DP (he has had to take time off to stay with him) and my furry friend today armed with ham, toffee yogs and cheese. And with a little patience, toffee yog and the ham @QuantumGirl he has had the majority of 2 out of 3. So we are just praying that they help. If not we have a horrid decision on our hands. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™. I just love him so bloody much. The cheese is being saved for tomorrow’s dose @BambiOnIce80.
He is Jack Russell cross Yorkie.

It’s just so frustrating and sad not knowing which way it will go and what is actually wrong πŸ˜’.

Carley321 · 14/01/2019 21:03

And yes @BambiOnIce80 I hope you know you have an entire thread here to listen xx

wheresthehope · 14/01/2019 21:37

@BambiOnIce80 I am sorry to hear about your loss x

@Carley321 I know how it feels to be in your situation and im truly very sorry x Last year I had to make the decision to put my old horse of 32 years to sleep. It was the single hardest decision ive had to make but in a odd way it was bittersweet. He now no longer is struggling with his aging body which brings me peace.
I am dreading the day I have to think of it for my dogs aswel

wheresthehope · 14/01/2019 21:41

Sorry if it has been talked about on here before but who has tried or heard of positive results having acupuncture to help with ttc?

PixieN · 14/01/2019 22:25

So sorry to hear about your Nan @BambiOnIce Hope you’re o.k πŸ’•

Your dog sounds lovely @Carley123 Hiding the tablets in ham & cheese sounds like a great idea! Fingers crossed that he’s o.k.

Glad your appointment finally came through @79andnotout.

Sorry to hear about all the bfns and Afs. I’m feeling a bit crappy with another cold and sore throat. Af is due in 2 days for me.

Kescilly · 14/01/2019 23:29

@BambiOnIce80 my condolences, I'm so sorry for your loss.

@VenusStarr I hope that your appointment went okay this time. Post as much or as title as you like, whatever helps.

@Carley321 that must be so scary, I'm sorry. I know you'll do whatever is best for your little fur baby and he knows that too.

Carley321 · 15/01/2019 07:09

@wheresthehope I’m sorry about your horse. 32 years is such a long time it must have been awful. But like you said he is no longer in pain and I’m sure he had a lovely life. I try to comfort myself with those thoughts too. But it was just so sudden. He was out running around like a teenager last week, chasing his ball and doing whatever it takes for a treat. ❀️ These animals really are such a big pet of our lives.

Thank you for your kind words. This thread never fails to comfort me πŸ’—.

79andnotout · 15/01/2019 07:36

@Carley321 - hope the meds do the trick. A sudden change is the worst. Fingers crossed the troops on through.

@VenusStarr be as miserable as you want. We all go through phases of it. Hope the session helped.

I got a positive opk last night and had one final shag with DP. I said we should go again today but he said there's no chance he can do it again. Four times in a week is his limit. It did feel like it too, I could sense him flagging mid point. Might have to pull a few tricks out of the bag next time (if I can even remember any). It doesn't really help that I've lost interest too. Will be happy to just read my gardening books in bed tonight instead...

BambiOnIce80 · 15/01/2019 08:38

@wheresthehope I gave acupuncture a go towards the end of last year. The WHO doesn't go as far as recommending it for fertility issues (yet), but they say there is evidence that it can have a positive effect on fertility (albeit by unknown mechanisms). I found the first couple of sessions intriguing/relaxing, but after that I just started to feel a bit of a tool laid there with pins in me for an hour πŸ“πŸ˜• It was Β£50 a throw too and a minimum of one session a week was recommended - not really sustainable for me πŸ™„ I've had a recommendation for a different acupuncturist who's an NHS fertility nurse (and cheaper! πŸ˜‚), so I might give her a whirl later in the year. The only thing I'd recommend is making sure whoever you go to is on the register for the British acupuncture Council, because it's the only form of semi-regulation acupuncture has. Basically, anybody can call themselves an acupuncturist and stick needles in you, even if they only started learning the day before!

@79andnotout, you have made me lol this morning πŸ˜„ My bag of tricks feels exceedingly empty as of late 😏 Do they still sell 'More' magazine? I might have to brush up on some positions of the fortnight...

@BambiOnIce80 so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you. My nana did a similar thing a few years ago. We hurtled down to Liverpool, sat at her bedside and she passed just an hour or so later. I always attribute it to her finally being able to relax. And find comfort in that.
Sadly im back down at my parents caring for dad. Hes taken a turn for the worst, but we just dont know how long he'll cling on for. He's had a couple of touch & go days.

@venusstarr misery is as valid an emotion as joy. I hope your appointment went ok. We're happy to listen x You guys have listened to my misery & I'm very grateful. I find it easier sometimes to write things than to tell my irl friends/family.
@Carley32 hope your doggo rallies x
@79andnotout get those seeds planned for the year, i put my chilli seeds in last week. sounds like youve done your best for this cycle 🀞
