Treenie - nice thought! However, last Sat afternoon spent shopping and gardening (mother up looking after ds), as was Sun afternoon (barrow load of weeds from front garden - had to make most of being able to spend time there without worrying over location of ds - no front gate). Next Sat pm in rehearsals for concert. next Sun pm at lunchtime picnic recital... and so on!

However, have appointment to see Chinese herbalist/accupuncturist tomorrow afternoon, so hope that will make me feel a bit better in sleep terms and also more chilled.

BTW, anyone feeling stressed etc, I found Chinese herbalist great before and then accupuncture fabulous when pregnant - helped with a lot of the symptoms.

Treenie/WP - I found that red wine was the earliest 'test' - went off it before the tests would have picked up on it anyway. Still liked the aroma, but completely unable to drink it - tasted like the cheapest, roughest plonk. DH very surprised to get my glass as well as his. All became clear at the end of the week...

Bb - found the Chinese medicine v good for stress as well - managed to get me back onto more of an even keel which I am sure helped.
Glad to hear that the foods havn't affected you as well - several people here at work (in Leeds) were affected ether in terms of getting here or home or where they lived.

toomuchtimeonline · 02/07/2007 14:36

Ok folks - cd15 andjust got a surge on the opks.... What does that mean? Am I ovulating now? Tomorrow? It's all very exciting!! Bded last night when should I next? Arrggh - I'm so excited!! It's pathetic isn't it!!! Do I need to bd now since the surge is now or tonight?

????!!???? Help!??!

Treenie · 02/07/2007 14:54

Woohoo! Fantastic Toomuch! That means you are about to ov and it also means you have a rather regular cycle straight after coming off the pill which is so great! See I told you you'd be fine!
Now you've been bding loads so you are all set - do it again today and then tomorrow and the day after to be sure though. Good to have a good stash up there for when the egg arrives.
I have such a good feeling about this for you toomuch. I know I shouldn't tempt fate like that but I really do!
And the main thing is that even if you don't get preggers this month you are def oving and that's the most reassuring thing. That's what I told myself anyway.
Have v tingly nipples so really hoping that is a sign!
x

toomuchtimeonline · 02/07/2007 16:07

Thanks treenie! Just glad my body seems to be getting back to normal!

Hope your tingly bits are a good sign xx

kensgirl · 02/07/2007 18:08

Lovely to hear from you Bella and PinkE Hope everyting is looking rosy fro you both!

Ready and Nomore - keep going, lovlies. Its sad to hear you are both having a hard time. Have you had any more news? Cd 25 for me, I feel as though af is just around the corner though. Not sure how many cycles its been, about 7 now I think, since my mc. Hugs to you both and other old friends too. Has anyone heard from Seaside or Mrs mc?

fifilou · 02/07/2007 18:24

Hi ladies, been on a bit of a downer this wknd which is crazy bonkers hwne i think about it.

Im now cd 32, really frustrated as i was supposed to come on on fri (if AF normal) but its not.

Am not preg as tested, and then i thought i had ov signs so tested....and ta-da....nothing.

Oh blimey boo. Ive decided to chill out about it, or try to at least and just wait for my af to get back to normal again. Until I do ive no idea where i am in my cycle, if im even having one! Oh what a big pile of poo to put it midly.

Saw my Bf today and her beautiful 5 wk old baby who is the most beautiful little thing ive ever seen. My Bf was sooooooooo lovely, she told me all about her trying techniques and was so sweet that i didnt feel jealous, just happy for her. Im sure one day I will have a lovely baby with my Dh, and im not going to stress until I really need to.

Hope youre all feeling fine and happy xx

can i just tell you a few symptoms and you guys let me know what you think and be honest.

Im so tired.....all the time, (but i thin im still recovering form lack of sleep form glasto?)

I feel sick especially at night.

Im crampy and bloated but not bad painful cramps if you know what i mean, just weirdy crampy feelings.

What is it? do you think its my body waking up to the fact ive stopped taking the pill?

I thought something might have happened by now, spotting or a proper period?

OP posts:
spugs · 02/07/2007 19:16

When im due my af i get crampy, bloated and feel sick. My symptoms are exactlly the same when im pregnant and now just for the fun of it my body has decided i should have these symptoms from half way through my cycle,, though this month it added in spotting just for the fun of it! I do think you notice more symptoms when your ttc and the only thing you can do is wait for af or a bfp. Heres hoping we all get one soon x

BabyBratt · 02/07/2007 20:05

Hi ladies

Not been around for a while but I've been struggling to stay positive lately.

Anyway hope you are all well. Well I am on CD18. According to my sticks I ovulated late for me (I thought they weren't working, my head was all over the place this month) this month as I got a surge on Saturday and my temp went up this morning. DH wanted to stop ttc this month because of the shop etc etc but one thing lead to another on Saturday and then again on Sunday it was all very spontaneous which was very nice for a change, to be honest I think I had lost some of the enjoyment because I was only ever thinking about one thing (sorry if that is too much info).

So I thought this month I would not be symptom spotting but it looks like I could be!!!

I seem to be the same as you spugs my PMT gives me all the symptoms of pregnancy which irritates the hell out of me. Although not to get your hopes up but spotting sounds like implantation bleed, but Im no expert.

Treenie keep me updated on the tingly nipples (that has to be the weirdest thing I've ever asked anyone )

Fi I will keep everything crossed you, you deserve it after all that running.

BabyBratt · 02/07/2007 20:22

I've forgot to say, but it is my first appt at the doctors tomorrow morning, Im quite nervous. I'll let you all know how it goes.

poppy75 · 02/07/2007 22:01

Hello guys,

Haven't been on the thread for awhile but have been popping in now and then. After being surrounded by pregnant people last month I have just tried to forget about it all. I have started to plan to go travelling and am applying for new job. Still hoping at the back of my mind that something will happen but I am so bad at not trying to control things so I am choosing new projects.

Treenie - the nipple wierd sensations were my first sign when I was pregnant and also unable to have alcohol near me so maybe!!!

Treenie · 03/07/2007 09:12

Hi All!

Poppy - good to have you back. It's a bit of a nightmare being surrounded by preggies and babies isn't it? Hard not to feel jealous. And good thing that you are not focusing on it too much - the number of people who fall when they least expect it. And thanks for the support with the nipple thing! I really hope it's a sign though am now convincing myself they aren't quite as tingly today! Good lord I would never discuss my nipples with anyone in real life - how mad! Haven;t had any booze for over a week now. Just don't feel like it, but not sure if that's the same as not wanting it anywhere near me? But then I am only 7dpo so I shouldn't have that many signs anyway - or so I keep repeating like a a little mantra in my head!

BB - Loads of luck at the docs. Let us know how you get on. Really good that you have had a bit of spontanious bding. Does all get a bit mechanical after a while doesn't it? Weird to suddenly be focusing more on sperm quality than orgasms! Can I say that word on mumsnet?! Well I think I just did!

Fi - chin up old chum. really don't stress. This is your first month and if you feel a bit all over the place then wait for the reassurance of seeing your proper af arrive and then you can start monitoring properly from there. That's what I am trying to tell myself anyway. If you got preggers second or third month that would still be great.
And what tips did your friend give you? We love tips and symptoms don't we?!

Toomuch - hope you are taking advantage of those surges?! When are you back from hols?

Kensgirl - CD 25 - how long are your cycles? Did you ov this month? Don't give up hope!

Isn't it a bugger the way af and preg symptoms are the same? How can mother nature be so ruddy cruel?!

And can I ask does anyone else get tingly nipples when they ov? starting to think it might just be that and not a sign of bun-in-the-oveness!

And can we talk CM for a minute here please? What is everyones like post ov on run up to af? TMI is not a prob were are all pals here!
I'm getting thickess creamy white stuff - lotiony I a suppose. Any thoughts?

And what do we think of accupucture? If not preggers this month going to give it a go?

Hello to everyone else!

This has turned into a bloomin essay so I'm off!

x

nomoremagnolia · 03/07/2007 09:17

Good luck BB ((hugs)) let us know how it goes
everyone else - will be back later

mistlethrush · 03/07/2007 09:45

Treenie - I used Chineese herbs pre-pregnancy, and swapped immediately to accupuncture as soon as I knew. Don't know where I'd have been if I hadn't gone - went in stressed came out floating on a cloud (sometimes wondered if I was safe to drive).

If it helps you with stress etc, definitely worth a try!

BabyBratt · 03/07/2007 11:45

Hello

Doctor totally unsympathetic. He was really difficult to talk to and at one point I thought I might break into tears. But he did give me a card to go and get my bloods done to test for thyroid etc. Blood pressure was really high, but my weight etc is good for my height. He told me to look at our lifestyle as I need to relax more and he wants to keep an eye on my blood pressure but he thinks it might be white coat syndrome!, sent me to the nurse for a full examination down below.

He wants me to do another 2 cycles and then I have to go for a 21 day blood test and then one a week upto AF and DH needs to provide 2 sperm samples a week apart.

When I went to the nurse the weirdest thing happened!! She took some swobs even though I've had all these test before and they were clear but it is best to be safe than sorry. But here is the thing she asked me if I was pregnant because of the position of my cervix and they bled which is apparently most common in women on the pill or pregnant women!!! I am now trying not to get my hopes up but I think she may have butchered me down there because I am now very achy (so that may have caused me to bleed)

Im so confused because I want to stay grounded but I can't help feel a little excited. but I know when AF turns up I will be gutted.

Although it would make me smile if I caught when we weren't supposed to be ttc.

BabyBratt · 03/07/2007 11:55

Treenie I forgot to say in my previous essay but I have heard great things about acupuncture. I had a course years ago on a knee joint after a car accident and it really helped.

Im glad you ask about CM because mine has been the same lotiony texture, so maybe that is normal. Although it does get thicker just before AF and I know then it is coming in the next hour or so.

Can you imagine talking to people in RL like we do in here, I struggled talking to the doctor today.

fifilou · 03/07/2007 12:41

hi ladies, am just back from docs and feeling crappy.

ive had this stupid reaccuring ear infection since march due to a large perferation in my ear drum. so, am now on my 7th (yup 7TH) ourse of nitbiotics. Poo.

I was having awful back ache, cramps in my tummy, and feeling shattered so the doc had a bit of a feel about and said i was a bit swollen in my tummy and when i told her about coming off the pill, she said i could be pregnant as my symptoms seemed pretty clear. and to test again,(me over excited and smiling away) which i did, and nothing at all. BFN.
She said to keep testing each week until i got my AF. Weird?

She was lovely, but im all confused and feel like im going bonkers. My ear pain isnt helping and to top it all off I feel sooooooo sick!

god what a moaner i am.......feel much better now its all out though....and breathe!

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 03/07/2007 13:55

Fi sorry that you're not feeling well and hope that you feel better soon. Can you do anything to help with the earache - its a bit like tooth ache in terms of not being able to think about anything else, so I can sympathise with you.

You never know, all that running might just have done the trick for you - fingers crossed. Can't really do anything other than follow her advice, although blood tests can pick smaller changes sooner if you're being driven out of your mind with not knowing either way.

Makes me remember peculiar situation I was in last Autumn - after mc took a long time to get back to normal and went to dr about it, concerned that molar pregnancy reoccuring - he said test and let me know - did test - not enough to say definite blue line, but there enough to not be able to say that it wasn't - very worrying. Ended up having scan in epu which was good, but blood test showed HCG levels still up. had to go back for another blood test following week and had surreal conversation with person giving results following day from epu... 'I'm sorry Mrs..., you're not pregnant' - 'Hurrah' - '?' - 'havn't you read my notes....?'. Thinking about this reiterates the peculiar position I find myself, largely wanting to get pregnant again, but still with large worry and concern about the potential for this to happen again.

Never mind, no point dwelling on that at the moment - ds waking me up in the early hours every morning at the mo, so the chances of getting any action again this month are fairly slight!

BabyBratt · 03/07/2007 15:54

Hi Fi

sorry you have probably said this futher down in the threads but how far along are you? It may take you a while to get your positive. Alot of my friends had to do more than one test.

We are in similar positions as the nurse told me this morning I might be pregnant, do you think they realise the effect their words have on us.

I am only a couple of days past ovulation so Im in for a long two weeks. I think after 8 months I am starting to feel like it will never happen for me but I have everything crossed for you.

Treenie · 03/07/2007 16:10

BB that is all good news one way or the other. if you are preggers then that is amazing but if not at least you've got the ball rolling. And you've only explored the natural option, which I know is the one you want, but if all else fails there is IVF etc. This is way to early on in the game to be thinking the worst by a long way.
Wonder what she meant by position - did she tell you want position it was in? So I can rush off now and check?!
Now the CM - do you just get it before your af - cause I've had mine since Friday and af isn't due for a few days yet. I read somewhere that creamy cm is a good sign - mine is like very fancy crabtree and evelyn hand cream I'll have you know! TMI I know!

Fi my lovely keep testing but don't freak out. I know you are feeling shit and the ear thing doesn't help but you and I are just at the beginning of a potentially very slow, long journey - we need preserve fuel just in case it's a round the world affair!
But am still hoping it's a day trip to blackpool at the mo IYSWIM?!

Mistlethrush I don't know what to say my dear. You sound a bit confused and frustrated - like if someone was to wave a magic wand and say it would all work out you'd love to be preggers but without that reassurance you are too worried something will go wrong? I don't know what to say really other than go with your gut instinct.

Have just done another test! What was I thinking?! I am the mad tester of the thread that's for sure! And you can guess the result - why do I do it to myself?!
x

BabyBratt · 03/07/2007 16:50

Treenie you make me laugh , I did not ask the position to be honest after her comment my head was spinning. Sorry for the detail but I think it was because my cervix bled more than anything but who knows. I got some good quality CM yesterday and today Im around CD19. I get the thick stuff literally a few hours before AF it looks a little like soft spreadable cheese rather than a lotion at that stage (it really makes me laugh you guys know more about my bodily fluids than my BF).

Im going to stick with trying all the natural stuff but like you say it is good to have the medical stuff working alongside. definitely fancy acupunture though

I must say Treenie you have a lovely way with words and seem to stay positive all the time which is a brilliant trait.

Treenie · 03/07/2007 17:00

Ah thanks BB! So do you my dear.
Not feeling v positive but glad I come accross that way. Don't feel preggers at all. And having just come of the pill I don't even know when ruddy af is due. Today is CD 27 so thought and early test might work - silly me. Could be another week still before I know one way or the other.
Boo hoo!
Don't think cm is like spreadable cheese - just body lotion at the mo. It is ridiculous what we talk about on here isn't it?! But you know what it helps and that's all that counts. And to be honest I'd discuss anything with anyone right now if it helped me get a wee bambino in there!
x

clearbluefairyjunior · 03/07/2007 17:00

You mustn't test early it only leads to dissapointment and until AF arrives you can't know for sure that you're not pg.
Please wait until AF is late before testing. It's for your own good!

Treenie · 03/07/2007 17:05

clearbluefairyjunior - so there is a whole family of you out there floating around waiting to help idiots like me?! Thanks!
I know you are right but I just don't know when af is late because I've just come off the pill - that's my pathetic excuse anyway!
x

mistlethrush · 03/07/2007 17:15

Treenie - yes, mixed up, confused etc. Probably like a lot of other people here!

BB - just got back from accupuncture - feeling a lot more chilled out - wait and see how it affects my sleep, but feels good!
