We're very close to maxing-out our previous thread, so time to start afresh 🙂

To borrow the intro from @Blondcat (our old threads founder):

A wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the ttc journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Good luck all!! 🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻

@bambi @carley thanks!! Feeling a bit nervous tbh. Yes, I was thinking the same about @melamine , we’re at the same stage so hers must be this week too!

Melamine · 29/10/2018 23:29

@noodella18 @bambi mine’s tomorrow too! 😬 cacking myself tbh. I know I’m only 11.2ish vs NHS putting me at 11.6 based on LMP so at least I won’t be worried if it’s small-ish. What time is yours Noodella? I’m at 11.50. 🤞🤞🤞

Kescilly · 29/10/2018 23:33

Good luck tomorrow ladies!

CNizzle · 30/10/2018 07:13

Good luck with the scans @noodella18 @melamine thinking of you today

BambiOnIce80 · 30/10/2018 07:40

Sounds like you found a decent acupuncturist @QuantumGirl 🙂 Mine always checked my pulse in both wrists but never explained what he was up to 😕 Quite pleased I jacked him in! I might try out the acupuncturist the nurse at the GP recommended though, but I'm waiting until the new year📍

Good luck for your scan too @Melamine 🍀🍀🍀

@Carley32 we're off to Italy and I still haven't packed anything 😣 I was absolutely knackered/felt like I'd been hit by a truck last night, so I suspect I'm coming down with some commuter viral nastiness - just in time for our trip to see DP's parents/fertile week! 🤒😩

Goodluck with the scans today @noodella18 and @melamine x

Melamine · 30/10/2018 08:08

Thanks ladies. Was already spotting from my soon to be discovered MMC this time last time. So it’s been a tense couple of days. I’ll let you know later 🤞🤞

Feel better Bambi! I am mid commuter lurgy too 🙄

79andnotout · 30/10/2018 09:04

@BambiOnIce80 - LG, fsh and progesterone please! So jealous of you Italian feast a thon holiday coming up. Have a great time' hope that virus stays away.

Good luck with the scans this morning @Noodella18 @Melamine - thinking of you both!

@Dianebz1 I had the hsg in July I think. Pretty sure my issues are just a general aging of me and eggs (I'm 39) but haven't consistently had enough sex to know for sure so I'm still faintly optimistic if a natural BFP, even though time isn't on my side. I feel pretty good about things though, whatever happens.

That sounds positive @QuantumGirl.

LeonieKate · 30/10/2018 09:12

@BambiOnIce80 thank you so much! That is so so helpful, I appreciate it. My periods have got a lot lighter since coming off the coil just under a year ago so hopefully they'll recommend some investigation. Great to be aware of the NICE guidance, I will arm myself with all that knowledge in case they try and fob me off.

edidxb · 30/10/2018 09:20

Hi all. Thank you so much for the congratulations posts! Good luck for the scans today @melamine and @noodella18 hope it goes really well for you both.

I went to the doctor this morning and she was very nice. She took my blood for a progesterone check and an HCG check. I need to go back on Thursday for the 48 hour HCG check to see if I am doubling it. It is all so nervewracking.

Glad you enjoyed your acupuncture @quantumgirl I also have poor circulation and acupuncture really boosted my temperature and my feet were much warmer in the 5 weeks I had it. So maybe it is worth a shot?

@bambionice80 I hope you feel better soon and not too struck down. Have an amazing time in Italy!

79andnotout · 30/10/2018 09:22

That's great @edidxb - fingers crossed for a good result on Thursday and then you can relax a little bit (till the next milestone!). It is relentlessly stressful really, isn't it?

Carley32 · 30/10/2018 10:33

@Bambi amazing I love Italy i am so jealous, where abouts are you staying?
Hope your well to travel and have an amazing time.

Good luck for today @melamine @nodella18

Noodella18 · 30/10/2018 11:42

@melamine best of luck for yours, you’ll be in the waiting room now!!

Mine was absolutely fine, but will wait to update more once you’ve reported back. Keeping fingers crossed for you xx

Melamine · 30/10/2018 14:08

So glad to hear @Noodella18, mine was also absolutely fine! Two days ahead of before. NT measurement was low too. High fives all round! @Blondcat you must be next? X

Noodella18 · 30/10/2018 14:15

@melamine great news! So pleased for both of us!! Mine was lying on the artery in my uterus and was kind of pulsing with my heart beat, with its little limbs flailing with each beat. Really cute.

I have a feeling that @kescilly might be before @blondcat actually??

Melamine · 30/10/2018 14:35

Of course - doh! Well fingers crossed for the June ladies (my birth month, aka a great birth month 😉) and of course for more BFPs soon!

Blondcat · 30/10/2018 14:50

Great news @noodella18 and @melamine. Yup it is @kescilly first then me. 6+6 today so seems like ages to go.

Looking forward to some more bfp's here soon x

Kescilly · 30/10/2018 14:53

We're each about three weeks apart, I'm somewhere in my ninth week. I had my first appointment with the midwife today and she was very nice.

I'm so pleased about your scans, @Noodella18 and @Melamine! Must be a relief. Are you telling anyone this week?

Is anyone else testing soon? Hoping for more BFPs!

PixieN · 30/10/2018 16:32

Great news @Melamine and @Noodella18. Glad your midwife appointment went well @Kescilly x

Have a great time in Italy @BambiOnIce Hope you manage to fight the bugs off. I’m off work this week so I’ve been out walking and just taking it easy in general. My new CB monitor should arrive this week too so I’m feeling quite excited to try it out Smile

PixieN · 30/10/2018 16:34

Good luck to anyone testing soon 🤞We’ve got a great record for BFPs on the thread now x

Carley32 · 30/10/2018 19:17

That’s fab news @Melamine and @Noodella18. It’s good to hear the midwife appointment went well too @Kescilly. Any tips or advice on vitamins or anything in fact would be much appreciated. Its feeling like it’l never happen for me.

Although I have had a fortnight off to be fair, just needed a little head clear out.

I have just added the CBfm to my basket on amazon. Excited to try it, not so excited at the price lol.

Carley32 · 30/10/2018 19:24

Oh I just realised that there is a monitor ans there is a set of cab ov tests. Recommendations?

Kescilly · 30/10/2018 19:29

How did I miss the trip to Italy? Enjoy, @BambiOnIce80!

Looks like a few of you are going to be setting up the monitors soon. I hope they work out!

@Carley32 honestly I don’t think any of the supplements made a difference for me. I was taking vitamin D and folic acid for a long time but I don’t know that it actually helps with fertility, it was more to support a potential pregnancy (and my mood). I started taking a few other things but it was literally days before I conceived and probably didn’t have time to have any effect.

The only thing that might have helped us is that we DTD earlier, on one of my high days rather than peak. But I think it’s all chance and if that cycle hadn’t worked, I would have felt like it wasn’t going to happen for me either.

Noodella18 · 30/10/2018 19:45

@carley32 we got pregnant on the second cycle but were taking loads of stuff for a few months before we started trying so not sure if it was that or we were just (incredibly) lucky generally. I was taking the pregnacare preconception vits, co-enzyme Q10 and zinc. Having done loads of research it seems it's also really important for the man to be in good health because deficiencies can lead to low sperm counts and wonky sperm which don't work. Stuff like being overweight, smoking, boozing etc can zap his swimmers, which I guess makes sense but which I hadn't really thought about. I had my partner on pregnacare man conception vits and gave him extra zinc (because that's a really important one), co-enzyme Q10 and snuck a lot of maca root powder into the cakes I baked for him. We also used Tesco fertility gel the month we conceived. In addition we (very very) loosely followed the sperm meets egg plan, I think we managed every other day from 1 week before ov, then the day I got a positive opk and the day after (which are the only days I had ewcm). After that we were relieved to not have to shag for the rest of the month :)

Got my fingers crossed for you and everyone else on here xx

pattyhoo · 30/10/2018 20:23

Just checking in after I've had the go ahead to start ttc from my hospital appointment (not going to do a laparoscopy yet).

Just got DP the pregnacare vitamins for men and a bottle of maca capsules. Half of me thinks he needs to get healthier before we try but then another part of me thinks that we just need to start trying!

Good luck everyone!
