We're very close to maxing-out our previous thread, so time to start afresh 🙂

To borrow the intro from @Blondcat (our old threads founder):

A wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the ttc journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Good luck all!! 🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻

hope it all works out okay @MrsRRC

79andnotout · 26/10/2018 17:32

Ugh, another friend just announced their pregnancy. A hole in one, again!

PixieN · 26/10/2018 17:59

@MrsRRC - everything crossed for you 🤞

@Blondcat - great to hear that things are going well. Keep us posted. Have you decided whether you’re going to find out the sex? So exciting! x

@79andnotout - I know what you mean. Lovely for your friend, but also feels a bit crap, especially when it seems to happen first try for everyone else! I’ve lost count of the amount of pregnancy announcements there have been (from friends and colleagues) since we’ve been ttc 😏

BambiOnIce80 · 26/10/2018 18:02

So sorry you're being put through the ringer @MrsRRC 😔 Hoping it's just a normal early pregnancy thing and sending positive vibes your way 🍀🍀🍀

Keeping everything crossed for you as well @edidxb 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻Hopefully there'll be a BFP before the weekend is out 😉

Hey all- Kescilly suggested this thread for me as I am 38 in a couple of weeks and been ttc for just over a year now with a chemical pregnancy last month. Feeling pretty frustrated with the constant peeing on fetility sticks and endlessly monitoring every twinge my body makes. We have been to GP and I am ovulating regularly, DH's sperm was checked and is 'normal'. DH cannot perform under pressure which is obviously what Bd'ing is so was prescribed viagra which has been amazingly helpful but they'll only give a prescription for 4 tablets so sometimes there are only so many times we can try. Do not want anyone else to know we are trying so nobody to talk to about it and I thought being on here might help

BambiOnIce80 · 26/10/2018 22:54

Welcome @Picallili 💐 Any friend of @Kescilly is a friend of ours 💖 So sorry for your CP 😔 TTC can be so unfair. Looking forward to getting to know you and seeing a BFP from you soon 🍀

@Picallili I had a cp in July, so disappointed. Felt really unfair, although of course it is so common.

Trying to conceive definitely takes the romance out of things, I agree!

NotMaryWhitehouse · 27/10/2018 10:10

How are you today @MrsRRC ?

MrsRRC · 27/10/2018 11:07

Morning @NotMaryWhitehouse I think I have had a CP.

I tested again this morning using one of the PG tests from the cbfm and it was BFN. I haven’t tried a FREF or anything else but I don’t see much point.

AF is due today, and at the moment I am spotting minimally and no cramping.

Anyway, onwards!

How are you?

@Picallilli welcome. Settle in and have a gin, it’s lovely here. Sorry for your CP they are a bugger - as I am finding out 😐

CNizzle · 27/10/2018 11:38

@MrsRRC that really is a bugger. Thinking of you x
Onwards indeed but take care of yourself & hope AF isnt too hellish.

@Picallili hi! Im a bit like yourself, noone outside of this board really to chat to about ttc as i dont want them to know.
Its a breath of fresh air to be able to talk freely with you guys and i don't feel like such a nutter when its all-consuming!

BambiOnIce80 · 27/10/2018 11:42

I'm gutted for you @MrsRRC 😔

All of you guys CP experiences have definitely strengthened my resolve to stick to not test any earlier than the day AF is due. I'm so sorry you've had to go through it.x

Thanks girls, that means a lot. You live and learn I guess. Xx

79andnotout · 27/10/2018 11:46

Sorry to hear that @MrsRRC

Picallili · 27/10/2018 11:55

So sorry to hear about that @MrsRRC. CP was so sad, I didn't feel like I'd lost anything and I was kind of expecting it as I had been spotting but after a year of nothing and then that it does feel like a huge blow so I hope you are feeling better

Picallili · 27/10/2018 11:59

@CNizzle it is nice to talk about it with people going through similar things. My DH is amazing but I don't think he can ever fully understand my side of it. I feel like I am contantly thinking about my boobs in the run up to expecting my period- do they feel more tender than normal? Are they bigger? Do my nipples usually do that? Grin

Kescilly · 27/10/2018 12:28

I'm so sorry, @MrsRRC. I hope that you can get some rest this weekend.

@Picallili I'm glad you joined the thread. I had my BFP a month ago but have stuck around as this is a great bunch of ladies. I'm glad that you have a supportive DH but they really can't go through it all with us, can they?

I found this article in The Guardian interesting, did anyone else read it this morning?

edidxb · 27/10/2018 14:37

@mrsrrc I am so sorry that it seems to be a CP. They are just the cruellest things. In fact TTC is such a rollercoaster of a ride.
@picalilli welcome to the thread. There is something about being in our late 30s which the 20s just don't get. I read something on the October bus the other day about leaving it too late at 27! I just thought.......well it's 10 years earlier than me! 10 whole years! Wow.
Well I am 36 but almost 37 but still.
@bambionice80 agreed.
I am going to test today. Just building up to it......

PixieN · 27/10/2018 16:05

Sorry to hear that @MrsRRC x

Carley32 · 27/10/2018 18:41

Sorry to hear that @MrsRRC how cruel things can turn on times. But onwards indeed xxx

@Blondecat that’s great news congrats on the milestone 👏.

Hello @piccalilli 😁

The pregnancy train is defo a rollercoaster.

Hope all are enjoying their weekend. I am doing absolutely nothing tonight and it feels so so good 😊

BambiOnIce80 · 27/10/2018 19:07

Me too @Carley32 😄 So much to do and no get up and go to do it 😏 I guess there's always tomorrow (I definitely work better to a deadline!).

Really pleased you've made your milestone @Blondcat 💖

How's things looking @edidxb? Do you think you'll test today or are you going to manage to sit on your hands until tomorrow morning?x

Thanks for the link @Kescilly I love the Guardian for being a voice of reason (on most things anyway)
@MrsRRC Flowers
I'm 7dpo... and no sore boobs?!? I always get really sore heavy boobs in my luteal phase for the whole time, looking back through my obsessive diary I definitely have achy breasts on this CD. If I was pregnant logically I'd surely get even worse, so I've decided I'm probably broken and really need to book that fertility specialist appointment.
@edidxb how are you getting on? Maybe it's better to wait and test with FMU?

edidxb · 28/10/2018 16:31

Hi all! Well, I tested yesterday and it was a BFP!! Amazing. I really felt like it was going to be my month at the beginning of the month as I started acupuncture and it was :-)
However, I am being cautious as I had my miscarriage in March at 10 weeks (stopped growing at 8).
But I feel really nauseous today and yesterday and I didn't get nausea until 6 weeks last time and it was only really mild. My husband was also very cautious - gave me a hug and told me not to get too excited! But I have a doctors appointment booked for Tuesday morning as if I have low progesterone again I want it dealing with ASAP whereas last time I didn't go to the doctor until almost 7 weeks.
I went to acupuncture today (already had it booked) and they were happy. They also said to keep going once a week until 12 weeks to keep blood circulation going. So I might as I am sure it helped me to conceive this month.
So thank you to everyone on here. I started reading about 10 weeks ago but started posting myself about 5 weeks ago. I really value the support of everyone and I think it has helped this month too, talking about the whole process rather than bottling it up and going crazy.
So like others, I will probably hang around for a bit as you never know what is going to happen......but for now I am excited!

Kescilly · 28/10/2018 17:00

@edidxb that’s wonderful! I can understand your fears but hope that everything goes well for you this time. Really pleased for you and a reason to celebrate. :)

MrsRRC · 28/10/2018 17:36

@edidxb that’s fantastic. Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months 😁😁😁

BambiOnIce80 · 28/10/2018 17:36

Super excited for you too @edidxb!! Congratulations!! 🎉💐😊
