We're very close to maxing-out our previous thread, so time to start afresh 🙂

To borrow the intro from @Blondcat (our old threads founder):

A wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the ttc journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Good luck all!! 🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻

@QuantumGirl yes that is the good thing, 38 day cycle this time so 🤞.
Oh teating is soon, exciting. Good luck 🤞. You have to love peeing on a fiver then binning it don’t you? 🤔🙈. Mind you I didn’t get that far this month.
I should be doing so many things, house work, schoolwork, preparing for xmas.. but Nop I literally have zero go in me at the moment. So we’ll done for planning for some productivity over the weekend. Lol

BambiOnIce80 · 15/11/2018 19:30

Phew 😪 Busy, busy couple of days so just catching up...

Damn my useless memory for dates! I hope everything went smoothly with your scan today @CNizzle? 🍀Hope DP's SA results were gotten too 🤞🏻

Crikey, you're all proper skinny-minnies!! Pre-holiday I was tipping the scales at 59kg (I've not dared go near them since through fear of destroying them! 😥), but it sounds like I'm about 4-5 inches taller than a few of you so my BMI is about 20 (quite respectable, apparently). I treated myself to some new running tights today in a bid to encourage me to get running again this Saturday and right the wrongs of the holiday diet🏃‍♀️

Happy to help if I can with sciency stuff @Carley321 😊 So sorry that AF is here, but getting tipsy on Saturday sounds like a lovely consolation treat 🍾🥂😉 How many cycle days is it this time? Did you manage to shave a day off last times 40? On the subject of temping I read that you need a solid 4 hours sleep to make sure you get reliable basal body temperatures, so it's something to consider if you aren't a great sleeper. If you're a sound sleeper, then happy temping adventures next cycle! 🤒🤓

We're off out for a top-notch dinner on Saturday and AF is due Sunday... I'm debating whether to do a FRER or not so that I know whether to go for the matching wine menu or not?! 🤔 Although my boobs are still tender, the tell tale twinges/borderline:mild cramps that signal AF is on her way started up yesterday 😒 I feel like I may as well pee on a fiver and throw it in the bin for all the likelihood I've got of it being a BFP 🙄

@QuantumGirl, keeping everything crossed that AF leaves you alone this weekend 🤞🏻 Your DIYing is once again putting me to shame! I think (after my run, of course! 😉) I'm going to mercilessly clean the flat in preparation for Christmas decorating... DP wants to do the latter. I'm nervous 🎄😕

Sorry @Carley321; Cross-posted!! 38 days is an excellent step in the normalising cycles right direction 👍🏻🤩

@BambiOnIce80 thanks :-)
HyCoSy scan was today. Took some naproxen before (what I take for AF cramps) and I'm glad I did! It was quite uncomfortable. Made me quite crampy during the procedure, and I've been bleeding a bit since. Feeling fine now though.
Apparently my ovaries & ceevix look healthy and my tubes are flushing fine. I appear to have a 16mm polyp in my uterus. Apparently nothing to worry about but ive got to go back after next AF for another scan to see if it looks different without the thickened endometrial lining. With a view to maybe removing it (eek!)
OH semen analysis results came back perfect. 136million/ml and 50% motility do he's all proud of himself.

EsaBel · 15/11/2018 20:58

Hey ladies! Mind if I join? Long story short, I'm 35, been trying for a yr and a half, have had 2 mcs, just had a laparoscopy for stage iv endo BUT i'm 6 dpo, cramping and spotting since early yesterday and hoping since the surgery, this last egg sticks if it got fertilized...

@peanut35, Congrats!! Baby dust to all!

terriwrist · 15/11/2018 21:05

@Carley321 sorry AF got you.

@QuantumGirl @BambiOnIce80 - hope AF stays away for you both.

@CNizzle good to hear scan went mostly well as well as the semen analysis. How old is your OH? Is age a factor with count/motility?

terriwrist · 15/11/2018 21:17

Welcome @EsaBel !
Sorry to hear about your MC's.
How did you discover you had endo?
I had stage III endo 7 years ago however I managed to avoid a second lap with non-surgical treatment (therapy and progesterone cream) and have been pain free for over 5 years... am early in the TTC process but hoping endo has not affected anything.

BambiOnIce80 · 15/11/2018 21:39

Sorry to hear the scan wasn't pain free @CNizzle 💐 Excellent news on DP's SA and you're ovaries and tubes all being fine 👍🏻 Did they say if the pesky polyp could be an interfering factor with TTC? If so, let's hope they get it out and you conceive in no time!🍀🍀🍀🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Welcome @EsaBel 👋 Sounds like you've had a tough year and a half 😔 Fingers-crossed this'll be your month 🤞🏻

CNizzle · 15/11/2018 23:09

Welcome @EsaBel 🤞for a sticky egg!
@terriwrist my partner is 40 (just) i think age does have a little effect on motility but not in the same way it does to us ladies.
@BambiOnIce80 they said it could affect implantation, and certainly from what Dr Google says (barring all the horror stories) it seems it can increase fertility.
FW is also here this weekend, possible ov on monday. So here's hoping they lubed up my tubes with the contrast! I'll be staying at my mums on friday/saturday night , so may have to sneak a couple of silent BDs in!! Ha ha TMI!

Peanut35 · 16/11/2018 05:31

Af hasn't got me yet still cant quite believe it 😍 thank you everyone for well wishes 😍😘

@BambiOnIce80 Cd38 so shaved 2 days from last cycle. So there is some good in it I suppose. Along with the alcohol on Sat. About the bbt, oh really? Then it would be no good at all for me, I am persistently up for for a wee, I cannot remember having a good block sleep. Is there another way of confirming ovulation... or something to do alongside cb, just to confirm the smiley is go time?

Aw I would defo do a frer, good luck 🤞🤞 either way you can enjoy a top notch dinner (sounds lovely). Going with DP?

@CNizzle sorry about the uncomfortable 💗but that sounds positive 😁 and great news about OH too. I bet it is a relief just getting some answers.

Hello @Esabel 🤞🤞 for you.

BambiOnIce80 · 16/11/2018 08:03

Good luck with the silent BD's this weekend @CNizzle! 😄

@Carley321, just did a quick double check to make sure I'm not telling you nonsense and it says you need a good 3-4 hours solid sleep before taking your temp for it to give meaningful data. Have you heard of the ava bracelet? It's expensive, but apparently has really good resale value when you're done with it and want to flog it on ebay! I think it logs your temp and heart rate throughout the night to pin point ovulation occurring. Not sure if that gets round the broken sleep or not though 🤔 I think @Oxted2018 has one, so she might be able to fill you in on her experience so far.x

@Peanut35 congratulations!! How many dpos are you today?!

QuantumGirl · 16/11/2018 08:39

@Carley321 and @BambiOnIce80 I have been tempted to get the Ava but couldn't justify the cost. However just found a Fitbit lookalike for £35 that monitors heart rate and temperature. I will look into it over the weekend and report back 😉

Peanut35 · 16/11/2018 08:51

@russkispsy 15 dpo today was due af yesterday was getting positives at 11dpo they started xx

Russkispy · 16/11/2018 09:53

@Peanut35 again, congratulations! hope it all goes well for you!

BambiOnIce80 · 16/11/2018 10:08

Oooh, that sounds very interesting @QuantumGirl! 😃 Do you have a link? I don't mind having a play with something that's less than £50 (especially with the black Friday deals going on!). Just can't bring myself to part with over £200 when my cycles are regular and I know I ovulate.

How are you doing @Russkispy? Am I right in thinking you must be testing soon after your IUI?

OP posts:
QuantumGirl · 16/11/2018 12:39

@BambiOnIce80 have a look at this:
https://www.tidebuy.com/product/Pop-W4s-Fitness-Tracker-Waterproof-Dynamic-Heart-Rate-Body-Temperature-Monitor-13015988.html?c=GBP&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIprP1sDY3gIVms13Ch1z9AcIEAQYASABEgIs33DBwE

Like I said, it's a lookalike from a website I've never heard of. It measures the skin temperature- can the skin temperature be used for tracking ovulation Dr Bambi? 🤓

Kescilly · 16/11/2018 13:17

@CNizzle glad to hear your mostly good news! For your husband to, I can just imagine him being all proud of himself.

Welcome to the group @EsaBel! Wishing you the best of luck. :)

BambiOnIce80 · 16/11/2018 13:40

Very interesting @QuantumGirl 🤓 I am but a science geek though (certainly not a doctor 😂), so I've forwarded it onto DP (gadget geek) for judgement 👍🏻 I've been thinking about a fitness tracker for a while, so as long as it does that bit OK it can't hurt taking a punt on it at £33 😎

Back to the temp bit, you've done well to find a fitness tracker with that included! I found zip on my searches! Revisiting the ava site, it looks like it's taking skin temperature in the same way - it even tells you what kind of temperatures to expect from skin versus standard BBT:

www.avawomen.com/tracking/cycle/

I'll report back with DP's judgment 👍🏻

OP posts:
BambiOnIce80 · 16/11/2018 14:21

So DP is less than pleased as he has now had to give away what one of my Christmas presents is so that I don't go and buy the temp one @QuantumGirl 😂 The fitness tracker he's getting me doesn't do temping, but DP has 'kindly' offered to modify a dildo with the required temp monitoring ability in lieu of his gift being able to do it 😂🤣😂🤣 I politely declined...

As for the temp tracker link, gadget geek DP is a little concerned that he can't find any independent reviews or another website that sells it. If he hadn't had already gotten me a tracker for Christmas, then I think I would have just taken a punt on it for £33 and not sweated it if it wasn't amazeballs.

MrsRRC · 16/11/2018 14:44

Welcome @EsaBel and good luck 🤞🏻

@Peanut85 lines are looking good and strong.

I am off work this afternoon because I had an appointment with my ocular surgeon (I have a weird growth on my inner lower eyelid) and it need to be removed. Yet more evidence that I am getting old 😂

I’m in the two week wait, and I had started getting some of the same symptoms as last month, like achy sideboobs. I’m trying to ignore it and am telling myself it’s because I went to yoga last night, because I am about 4 dpo and that is way too early for symptoms.

Russkispy · 16/11/2018 14:48

@BambiOnIce80 did a test this morning and could see a very very faint line. Hardly visible. Run to London to get blood tests done so I don't second guess it. Sadly it's Negative. And now moving onto IVF. Next month.

BambiOnIce80 · 16/11/2018 14:55

Oh I'm so sorry @Russkispy 😔💐 That's so cruel to get a line on the test and then not have the bloods confirm it. I love that you have such a clear plan of what you're doing next (you're a woman after my own heart ♥). I'd be really grateful to hear about your experience with IVF once you get there, if you don't mind sharing? I'm pretty sure that's where I'll be heading in the next year.

OP posts:
Russkispy · 16/11/2018 14:59

@BambiOnIce80 thanks! I'm very much realistic about things! So told my doc last time. No more IUI, let's cook some magic with IVF. My time has arrived. It's shit and it's fine at the same time. I'm just grateful there are other options out there. And luckily I don't have problems financing it. Whatever it takes. Stamina and determination have never left me. And of course I'll share my experience with you guys!
Guess that faint line was just a leftover from HCG trigger
