We seem to have filled up our last thread so here is a new one.

A wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the ttc journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Goodluck to all ladies we can do it Smile

@TheNewbieStep- was just catching up and I had my fingers crossed for you this morning. But it's not over until AF turns up.

@Bambi I have realised we are at exactly the same place - I also got the coil out in March and so think I will make an appointment for the GP next month.

As well as the seedlip non alcoholic gin, I have discovered Sainsbury's have just started selling one too and I think it's better - more gin like. Cannot remember what it's called (helpful I know!) but def worth a go for anyone up the duff/ trying to cut back.

Am off on hols tonight so will probably not be checking in for a few weeks. Wish you all lots of luck and am hoping to see some BFPs when I get back. Xx

BambiOnIce80 · 19/09/2018 08:03

Sorry to hear it was a BFN @TheNewbieStep 💐 I think I'll be joining you very soon - I had some fairly impressive cramps for the first time in a long time last night 🙄

Good luck with the tent on the jeep @Oxted2018! Hopefully it'll add the extra je n'ais c'est for fertile week! 🤞🏻🍀😉

QuantumGirl · 19/09/2018 08:55

@BambiOnIce80 and @TheNewbieStep I'll also be joining you both very soon. AF due on Saturday but have started spotting on Monday which I never ever do and still am. I symptom spotted myself hourly for the past 2 weeks and tried very hard not to get my hopes high. I drove myself mad. I have a holiday to look forward to in two weeks time and working from home the whole week next week to look after the puppy. At least I will be commute free for a while 😊☕️

79andnotout · 19/09/2018 08:58

That's rubbish @TheNewbieStep :(

Have a great hol @Oxted2018 ! Sounds mint.thanks for the non-gin tip, I'll definitely give that a go!

I was reading this morning that you should have no more than four drinks a week while ttc and Ive just been aiming to keep between 14-20 units, and that's been hard enough! Off to a wedding this weekend so no chance this week. AF due Monday so that's a good time to turn over a new leaf.

@PixieN - I've started watching killing eve. It's good. I think Phoebe Waller-Bridge is ace. Fleabag was so good.

Ugh so tired from jet lag this week. I can't be bothered to do anything.

Kescilly · 19/09/2018 08:58

@Carley32 sorry, I should have been clearer! I use the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor to detect ovulation. It's basically the same as using the Clear Blue Ovulation tests with Dual Hormones. "Normal" ovulation tests work by detecting your LH surge. The dual tests (and my monitor) work by detecting LH but also estrogen.

I don't think it's necessarily better, I think it depends on your cycles, your lifestyle, and how much information you want to have. If my cycles were regular, I think I'd do regular OPKs for a few months, then ditch entirely. My cycles have become irregular so I decided to try the monitor.

@PixieN I think everyone knew how much I wanted a child with my first husband, so they assumed I'd want to try straightaway once I got married again. But yes, it was a very generous offer. How are you doing today?

@TheNewbieStep sorry about the BFN. How many DPO are you? You're not out yet!

Have fun on holiday, @Oxted2018! See you in a few weeks!

@BambiOnIce80 don't give up on this cycle yet! I thought I felt AF coming on the other day but nothing since then. There's still a chance.

I'm 11DPO today and no spotting yet. I'm thrilled about this because a few recent cycles I've only made it to 9DPO and then AF has shown up the next day. It's been worrying me. I'm hoping for a longer luteal phase even if I'm not pregnant.

79andnotout · 19/09/2018 10:16

Those who have only recently come off contraception, my cycles and luteal phase were completely off for about a year after i stopped the progesterone only pill (Cerazette, so about three times as much progesterone as Mirena but a lot less than other contraceptive pills).
Now about 80% of them are 26 days long with an 11 day luteal phase, but they ranged from 20-35 before with a luteal phase of 5-14.

So if you're seeing weird luteal phase patterns and you're not that long off contraception they may have not settled down yet.

Beeseeinya · 19/09/2018 10:20

Crossing fingers for everyone imminently testing!

I decided to try a cheapie opk today. I'm only on cycle day 4, but I've had a couple of randomly short cycles and flo app implies I ovulate really soon after AF some months, so thought I would do some early testing to see what's going on. AF was all done with in 3 days this month, usually it's 4 with very light spotting on 5.

BambiOnIce80 · 19/09/2018 10:40

A puppy is very exciting @QuantumGirl!! I am green with envy!! If my work would allow you to opt to transfer the maternity leave you've never taken into puppy leave, then I'd be there in an instant! 😃 Back to the matter of babies - if it's not normal for you to spot, then I would totally symptom spot that as something (hopefully 🤞🏻) positive rather than a sign of AF. How many dpo are you/are you going to do a FRER?

@79andnotout I've been trying to keep my alcohol units down this month to 14 unit group - there were lots of variables and flaws).

Excellent news about your improved luteal phase @Kescilly 👍🏻 Hopefully it's a sign for a BFP 🤞🏻🍀I'm back to thinking I'm not going to bother testing tomorrow 🤔 Cramps and a couple of other pro-AF symptoms means I'd be just as well peeing on a £5 note and throwing it in the bin 😉

Kescilly · 19/09/2018 11:34

I hear you on that Bambi. I think my progesterone is dropping today so I expect AF will arrive just on time for my long flight. Hoping I can get another day or two out of this cycle.

TheNewbieStep · 19/09/2018 12:00

@Kescilly

13 days.... I keep getting hot flushes....

Melamine · 19/09/2018 16:03

Sorry to hear about BFNs but no AF means hope @TheNewbieStep! are you going to test @quantumgirl?? Spotting might be a good sign...
@Oxted2018 I saw that gin in Sainos but didn’t take the plunge! I did get some Nanny State though, the best 0% beer IMO. Keeping all fingers crossed for everyone.

Hope all ok with @Noodella18 after last post x

Noodella18 · 19/09/2018 16:59

@melamine thanks for asking, yes fine, spotting has stopped and took a clearblue digital today which said 3+ weeks (since conception, e.g. 5+ weeks in real terms) so all going ok it seems. No morning sickness yet... Never would have thought I would find myself wishing I felt sick. How are you getting on?

@oxted what is this alcohol free sainsbury's gin of which you speak?! I need it in my life! I've been drinking a lot of diet tonic water with a splash of cucumber bitters and it's pretty nice.

@quantum implantation??! Are you going to test or wait and see?

Noodella18 · 19/09/2018 17:02

OMG just found it, it's called Ceder's Crisp... Need to make a pilgrimage to get some!

TheNewbieStep · 19/09/2018 17:38

Can thoroughly recommend Stowford Press 0% (Cider)... and that Ceder (fake Gin) comes in THREE flavours - off i scoot to Sainers!!!

x

Blondcat · 19/09/2018 18:24

@oxted2018 have a fab holiday. I am on count down myself only 3 more sleeps Grin.

@noodella18 and @melamine good to hear from you both glad things are going well.

@quantumgirl fx for you and and others in the tww.

QuantumGirl · 19/09/2018 18:52

Sorry @BambiOnIce80 I think I owe you a clarification. I have a gorgeous 9 year old husky who to this day I still call him puppy (or babes, depending on the day 🙈). He is a lovely and very affectionate dog but needs to be walked 2 or 3 hours a day so that's my week next week while the lady who walks him is away. Plenty of exercise for me too 🙄. It's day 3 of spotting spots for me and according to Flo I am 12dpo and AF due on Saturday. Im trying not to test until at least Sunday as I find the disappointment of a BFN too much to bear. In the meantime I'm trying to be soooooo cooool about it, you know, me? Pregnant? Oh no, I didn't even think of this possibility ( yeah, right 🙄) 😬.

PixieN · 19/09/2018 19:01

I’m so tired today ladies. Work is absolutely manic. Good job it’s not fw as I have zero energy and just want to curl up and sleep. Going out for tea with DH so will need to wake up a bit. I’m trying to cut down on my alcohol intake too, but it’s so hard. I will probably go for a mocktail later as I can pretend it’s the real thing! Also need fake gin in my life - sounds amazing! 👍 I had a delicious concoction of pink gin, chambord, lemonade and lime at the weekend. If I could find an alcohol free version of that I’d be very happy Grin

Have a lovely holiday @Oxted2018 I’m very jealous! And a whole week of puppy cuddles @quantum 😍 I don’t think i’d get any work done lol

PixieN · 19/09/2018 19:05

Oops cross post Quantum Your husky sounds lovely 💕 Sounds like he’s still a puppy in character! Good luck holding out on testing - this thread needs another BFP 🤞

BambiOnIce80 · 19/09/2018 19:13

Oh, that kind of puppy @QuantumGirl! 😂 My curly-coated retrieve was still my 'pup' when he was 11 and graying 😉 I'm most impressed by your will power to not reach for the FRER's! I know what you mean about the BFN's though - I find them way worse than AF just rocking up.

I'm still crampy on and off, so 90% sure AF is round the corner. Just want it to turn up and get on with it! 😕

Kescilly · 19/09/2018 19:37

@QuantumGirl I like how the instructions for FRER tell you to retest in seven days if you get a BFN. Who play it cool enough to wait seven days?!

Sorry you're so tired, @PixieN. Maybe you can have an early night after a delicious mocktail or two?

I'm right there with you, @BambiOnIce80. I've started feeling all crampy and blah today. I keep hoping for a few more days on my LP though.

Carley32 · 19/09/2018 20:46

@TheNewbieStep @Bambi* that’s disappointing but your still in till Af comes along! 🤞🤞🤞

Good luck @quantum and @Kescilly.

I need to start checking this thread in work. By the time I get chance to reply I spend half the night catching up 🙈.

@Kescilly So are they more reliable then? Maybe I should invest. I’m not getting far with these cheaply sticks. Are there any other signs/ symptoms of ovulation I can look out for?

I love dogs and would never be without a furry friend 😊. X

PixieN · 19/09/2018 20:52

Thanks @kescilly feeling much better after a lovely seafood main & salted caramel cheesecake 😋 x

Melamine · 19/09/2018 21:37

Talking of OPKs if this pregnancy works out then I’ll gladly donate my CB advanced digital sticks to someone if they’d like them, think there are about 10, and they are not cheap!

Being in early pregnancy after a MMC is the opposite of exciting I can tell you! If I thought the TWW dragged, the last 11 days since I POAS have been even worse! Light spotting today I’d not have noticed if I hadn’t been wearing white pants instead of normal brown. Should I panic? No idea but trying to maintain PMA. have now booked an early scan for 1/10 though so please keep everything crossed.

Hope to see another BFP on here soon!

Melamine · 19/09/2018 21:38

Er, black pants. Who wears brown pants?! 💩😂

QuantumGirl · 19/09/2018 22:14

@Melamine that really made me laugh 😂 😂😂
