Well I'm another one with an Af just over and very much feeling...
here we go again
Am temping and charting this month to see if that helps at all....

wilbur · 20/08/2004 12:14

May I tiptoe into this thread, please? Dh and I are ttc after my ectopic in March - we haven't been trying v hard but it's been a couple of months since we used contraception and no dice so far. I have been very lucky in the past in that ds and dd turned up within a very short while of ttc. I thought I might be preg last month and was surprisingly upset when AF arrived early - I guess my cycle is still a bit all over the place. Maybe I should start charting. Anyway, good luck to everyone else here, looking forward to chatting.

Girls we are all in the one boat trying our best to have a little baby!

Tex111 ~ just ordered 40 tests I'll get through that lot before I buy the ultra sensitive but let us know how they go!!! Mine should arrive in the post today or Monday and I can't wait to start peeing on a stick!! Maybe we should start a support group ~ addicts to peeing on sticks!!

I am surrounded by babies; went to visit my cousin (like my sister) who just had a beautiful baby girl after 3 miscarriages ~ so delighted for her. My sil is due on the 17th Sept, but should go early has she did on first at 37 weeks and my sil tried for over 1 year to conceive this time. My little sister who is only 19 is now 9 1/2 weeks BIG SHOCK but we initially thought it was etopic so thank God it's not! So as long as she is ok we will all help her.

So babies everywhere!!

Girls I want to get all this clear so here comes the "silly" questions

The easiest way, if there is one?? When you ovulate is it best to make love just before ovulation, during or after??? I knew last month when I was ovulating; but I was convinced ahh that's the sperm meeting the egg and laid off the love making but silly old me!!!

If someone can let little old me know it would be great. Gosh you'd swear this was my first time round but I have a fab little boy who was 3 only a few weeks ago!

Twiga · 20/08/2004 12:51

Cyndii, I ordered some of the really sensative ones today, so will let you know. To the best of my knowledge, and I'm by no means an expert, it's a good idea to start bding a couple of days before you ovulate so you have a supply of sperm waiting in the wings as it were, then go for it as often as you can until safely past fertile time (5 days or so before AF due?) - that's what we do anyway . Ideas ladies? x

Twiga · 20/08/2004 12:52

Oh, and welcome wilbur!

Fonzie · 20/08/2004 13:07

Hi All, sorry to hear your news BeckiF . Twiga, I was in the midwife unit as I had no problems through my entire pregnancy. That may be something to do with the fact thatI didn't know until 17 weeks - long story! However, I did 2 tests well after AF was due and they both showed BFN! As you might imagine, I don't have much faith in tests any more! As to the question of when you BD some stuff I've read says go from when AF finishes until about 5 days after OV. We tried bd every night for 1 week and were so exhausted that it wasn't really surprising that I wasn't PG that month!LOL. Have tried a slightly more sensible approach of bding every other night this time so we'll just have to wait and see.

Fonzie · 20/08/2004 13:09

Oops, just realised that beginning of last message is all over the place ie no news at all.Best just to ignore it! My brain is definitely elsewhere today.

Cyndii · 20/08/2004 13:10

Wilbur ~ WELCOME

Thanks Twiga, that's what's going to happen this month so dh & I lots & lots of bding!!

This has to be the month for me I just have this fantastic feeling that it's going to be my turn!

Chins up and so so so much baby dust for us all!!

Thanks fonzie!! I've a hectic couple of weeks ahead!! DH & I are heading to Madonna's concert next weekend in Slane, and by my calculation of dates that should be just before I ovulate so the gig, alcohol the works is free (his company) so I intend to get very tipsy and then very naughty in our free hotel room!!

sweetheart · 20/08/2004 13:16

lol Cindii

sounds good to me!!!

Fonzie · 20/08/2004 13:18

Yes I'm in Ireland, and I'd say Madonna's gig will be great ~ heard it was great last weekend in Manchester..............

Cyndii · 20/08/2004 15:46

Twiga ~ it looks like I have to thank you yet again.

I was browsing over the ttc8 to see what web site was recommended and you had recommended this web site (fingers crossed that I can create a web link great link to try ladies so I decided to have a browse and I stumbled upon the ovulation calendar and I submitted my dates and it calculated that I am fertile from today til Tuesday! Here was thinking that it would next weekend! Gosh!! As earlier I had detected some stretchy mucus (sorry about too much info) and I thought Ohh I wonder is that the "egg white" type... so the bding starts tonight!!!!!!!

Thank you again twiga!!!

Cyndii · 20/08/2004 15:46

link didn't work so ladies it's www.babycentre.co.uk

miranda2 · 20/08/2004 17:25

May have spoken too soon - been bleeding today. Off to read the 'implantation bleeding' thread for some straws to clutch at!

Tessiebear · 20/08/2004 17:43

how long can implantation bleeding/ early pregnancy spotting last??

miranda2 · 20/08/2004 22:04

I don't know!!
It seems to have stopped now, for now at least - was bleeding from c.11 to c.3.30 - like a light period. Cautiously hopeful now its stopped, but I guess I just need to wait and see what happens over the next couple of days. Does anyone know how long it would take the hormones to go if I had lost it, ie, when a pregnancy test would be accurate?

Piffleoffagus · 20/08/2004 22:22

af should have finished yesterday at least
today it started up again after a day of spotting??
On day 7 now of bleeding
Is my cycle really stuffed do you think?

hester · 21/08/2004 09:28

How is everyone today?

BeckiF - I just wanted to say that I've been reading your posts, and I soooooo feel for what you're going through. I too have been trying for ages, and feeing that only some kind of miracle will give a baby to me now, and it is so, so hard. You're obviously finding it tough, but you keep picking yourself up and being very brave and positive. I really, really hope you get the miracle you deserve very soon.
