Hospital have put me on clomid - they say I'm not ov'ing combined with DH's low morphology it's no suprise we've not succeeded really
sperm+egg=baby very few sperm+no egg= no baby (even I learnt that much in biology)

MrsMcJnr · 10/07/2007 09:39

Best of luck with it Blueberry and welcome to Mumsnet, it?s seriously addictive

Hello The Rah (or the Raj as we?d say in Scotland ? meaning you are mad but in the nicest possible way ) Wedding in Cuba hey remember my BVI dilemma (also April), it was a lovely one to have but a stress all the same ? wishing you a stylish bumpy wedding accessory! hope you get both the holiday and the baby

Gracie14 ? I love that book enjoy it. Whilst I hear what Toni says about 4 -5 months of temping, it still doesn?t work with GPs here (I am so embarrassed when I remember my appointment at the end of the last year with the ancient male GP who looked at my charts as if they were witchcraft and kept making comments like ?what the hell has grapefruit juice got to do with anything? ) my advice is just to lie and say you have been trying for over a year so that they can tick that box. Bit tricky I know if it?s the same GP who prescribed you the pill until last Sept

Hang in the Duchesse & Minxi

Very excited today as thermometer gave me a reading that did not end in 9 or 4 was begining to think it did not work properly!!

nomoremagnolia - Clomid eh. Well you are not alone I am sure someone else is on that, but I can't rememeber who (minxi??). We are here to support you should you have any strange side effects etc. But I know of a couple of friends that it worked a treat for. Really sorry to here your body is not playing ball, but love your biology lesson .

rah - I have 2 brilliant single friends in the coventry/leamington area who are both mid 30s now and cannot find decent intelligent men!! Such a waste. Thanks to your research I now know why!

mrsMcj glad to hear all going well and your words fo wisdom are fab. Don't ever leave us.

gracie I feel your frustration. It is really hard and I have said this before, but will say it again. We live in such a consumer now now world that it is incredibly difficult to understand that babies do not appear when we want them - especially when all around us see to fall at slightest mention of unprotected sex! yes I used the S word!! . I include myself in this, as I have to keep reminding myself that there is a time for everything. You'd think I would learn being second time round. My GP was quite helpful. If I was you I would take MrsMc's advice and say you have been trying for "nearly a year" or "11 cycles" which he will assume is a year! I actually said I would like some blood tests and it was the GP that agreed and said "we might as well start the ball rolling as these things take time". I think I won him over as well by starting the sentance with "I know that a year is perfectly normal" so that he did not launch into that speech! hope that helps.

I have changed my LP to 10 which is my average on FF, but hoping for an 11 again or maybe a return to form of 14!!

ready how are you doing you busy beaver.

ALL I just wanted to thank you all, as I have been soooo much calmer and saner (about TTC) since joining this thread. Being with others who have found it tough has made me feel more normal. PLUS in the last few months we have had BFPs for some girlies who have been TTC for a really long time so hope springs eternal.

MrsMcJnr · 10/07/2007 11:15

Hi Nappy glad you are having a good thermometer day thanks for making me feel wanted really good point you make about GPs, it?s always good to know what outcome you are looking for and to play down the emotional side.

Hello ladies.

I feel its a little cheeky to grumble at my temp fall today given that I have only just started temping really - I'll save it for a few more cycles time!

Thanks for the abbreviations list NappyValley - very helpful. I constantly think my thermometer is broken and needs replacing - why else would it give me such a poor chart!

Thinking · 10/07/2007 14:05

Nomoremagnolia, Sorry you are not ovulating but the good news is that Clomid has a high success rate, judging from ther pregnant ladies on another parenting board I post on. I hope Clomid works asap for you.

Gracie14 · 10/07/2007 18:18

Hi all

MrsMc - It's lovely that your coming back to check on us. I hope its all going well for you Your right about the book I can't put it down, must have read it in a couple of hours and keep going back to it.

Nappy - Its nearly cycle 11 for me anyway so I think I will go to the doctors once I have temped a couple of cycles. There is a really good lady doctor who I think I will ask to see, but I'm trying to stay positive now and hope that it doesn't come to that

Nomore - Sorry about the clomid but at least something is happening for you. The nurse I saw the other day said that she had tried for her baby with no luck for 15 months and was put on clomid and succeeded very soon after so fingers crossed that it happens for you quickly

Thinking - I hope your managing lots of bding - according to the software I ovulated 3 days ago (which I had hoped to have done as DP is not around for the rest of week) but I'm abit worried that the my temps don't seem to go very high, so whether it will still say that tomorrow is another story

Blueberry - Your perfectly entitled to grumble, I cried the first time my AF arrived after beginning to ttc
little did I know 10 cycles later I would still be here

Hi to everybody else, hope you are all well

minxi · 10/07/2007 20:33

Nomore I am on clomid - my 4th cycle and as you can see from the temp chart am nearing the end of this one.... not sure whether I feel positive or not but we will see by the end of this week...
Its okay though - made me go a bit manic first couple of months but thats a side effect and the hormones your not used to etc...I am fine now though seem to get used to it. Saying that you might fall in the first couple of months so fingers crossed to you...

Morning girlie's!

Rainbowdays - Good luck with the job application!

nomoremagnolia - sorry to hear your not ovulating. But least they know what is wrong now and have put you on clomid. I'm sure it will make the difference and you will be with child shortly!

Minix - What a bummer about next month! Will you stop your clomid for that month?

Thinking - Good luck with the OPK's - I found them a bit difficult at first but are now use to them. I find they work best in the evening for me and I leave it on the side for a good 3-4 minutes and then return to see it.

NappyValley - I work in Leamington and my parents live in Warwick. But men from Leamington tend to be up their own arse's, where men from Coventry are just wrong! My sister has a similar problem to your friends and has also not liked anyone we have set her up with, as well as getting extremely annoyed at being set up with people!

Gracie14 - Have fun with the book...I ordered three pregnancy related books at the same time and my husband thought I was slightly obsessed

MrsMcJnr - 'The Raj' says- yes I hope I have a lovely wedding accessory..

Duchesse & Ready - hope all is well X

Ok here is my usual end of cycle moan. I'm due on Sat/Sun and getting the usual signs of AF. Yesterday got that change in my CM, which is apparently the egg coming away. Then PMT is kicking in and not being able to engage my brain before speaking - basically I needed to be locked up now until my AF arrives. I know we are down for treatment now and we know that on our normal history we would not of caught, but you still hold out hope! STAMP FEET!!!!!! WHY ME???? GRRRRRRRRRR

Have a good day from 'one angry Rah' (AKA the Raj - in Scotland) XX

MrsMcJnr · 11/07/2007 10:38

Have to tell you guys lovely news ? we had our second baby arrive last night on the TTC Graduates board Bodkin had a gorgeous baby girl at home, 7 lb 6

Blueberry ? that?s still a good high temp

Gracie ? glad you are enjoying the book, it is great for reference (especially the appendices) once you have read it through Keep up the PMA

Nomore ? good luck with the clomid, there have been lots of great results from ladies on that

Oh Rah

Got a temp rise today (of 0.5°) but it's too early for ov (I would say, but then when doc did ultrasound scan he said "you're mid-cycle, you should be expecting you period in 12-14 days" to which I said "that's sooner than I would have though" appt was CD9) Who knows? Maybe I am having a very short cycle?

Thanks for all the good wishes and postive stories about clomid, quite frankly I want to start now. I read somewhere else that starting on clomid gives you all the excitement of when you started ttc, I've already fallen hook line and sinker for that enthusiasm, so you might be picking me up from a very dark place in about 7 weeks time! Also was told clomid increases chance of twins, so have been day dreaming of having twins now! (I'm so sad!!)

Anyway, that's far too much waffle from me xx

Rah sorry hun. I will be thinking of you at the weekend, as I am due sat.

NoMore - day dreaming(???) of twins well nothing wring with your PMA!! Don't worry about temp rise. See what you get tomorrow first. So gald we have made you fell more positive about the clomid.

As for me, I can feel the cramps starting and am worried that we are only going to get a 9 day LP again. Feeling so much better and energetic since stopping the vit B6 though.

RahRah1 · 12/07/2007 09:54

Morning all... yesterday I was 8DPO and started getting bad period pains and today have the same.. how annoying, Think AF is coming early. (It came at DPO 10 once before)
I have been taking B6 40mg and did feel really fertile this month and got far more CM than usual. But I stopped taking it when I ovulated, is this correct or are you meant to take it through out the cycle?

But on a brighter note my new GHD's arrived this morning....wooooohooo!

Duchesse - sorry to see you at CD1 again - I will be joining you soon for CD1 - cycle 33! So a little behind you but not that far! Not a competition either should be in! NOT FAIR!! I'm feeling rather sorry for my self today..

ZamMummy - welcome!!!!!!!!

Minxi - how are you feeling. Your temp is still high and very near AF time. Can you see any signs? Have my fingers crossed for you!

Catch you all later.... Hello to everyone!

I know what you mean about hard to read, but with cut and paste we lose the bold and I am too lazy to put the stars bakc in sorry!

nomoremag I and I think many others use OPK tests as well as temping. Do you know when you normally OV? as you are CD12 you should be OK to start now unless you OV really early. It helps tell you when your LH surge is (Lutenising Hormone which is the one that says "oi ovary give us an egg". SOooo you should ovulate 24-48 hrs afterwards and then you should see a temprise after that. The themp rise can occur 24-72 hours after ovulation depending on the person. For me I seem to get OPK +ve then temprise 4 days later. Hoe that helps. I am sure others have more advice too.

Rah sorry you are feeling so miserable - you know my advice at times like these, got to the shop and find the cabinet that says "In case of emergency break glass" and then remove the LARGE BAR OF DAIRY MILK and indulge!!!!!!!!!

Sorry what is GHD again?

MrsMcJnr · 12/07/2007 10:54

Nomore ? day dreaming of babies is meant to help TTC ? maybe dreaming of twins will double the assistance In my experience OPKs are stressful even when temping and certainly not to be used alone ? it can be really stressful when you get ?ives day after day when you think you should get a +ive and that stress can actually lead to OV being delayed even more. Whilst they are good as back up for what you think is happening, apparently there are lots of reasons for false negatives and positives, plus they are costly (though not as bad on sites like accessdiagnostics.com) HTH

Look after ZamMummy for me (there may be a few more on their way over from TTC after MC thread)

Nappy ? funny that the B6 was making you feel that way hon. Do you take evening primrose oil? Something helped my LP move from 9 ? 11/12 if not the B6, could have been the oil

Rah ? sorry about the pains hope it?s not AF. You are right; you should stop B6 after OV as it could be harmful after that. Enjoy the GHDs (personally can?t be bothered! )

Hello everyone else had my nuchal this morning. It was so nerve wracking. The beanie looked fine, just the right size for my dates and waving away at us with its little hands and feet ? I really thought I was going to cry. I know the purpose was for Downs but at that moment in time, all I cared about was that it?s heart was beating and that it was alive Sonographer said the measurements looked ok from a Down?s perspective and based on age my risk is 1:549 so hopefully when I get the results back on Tues, they?ll be higher than that wanted to tell you all ? I know you all so want a baby and I temped for 9 months to get here so I really hope that this gives you hope that you too will be reporting back to the temping thread having graduated

minxi · 12/07/2007 11:13
