New thread...

OP posts:
Chocolatedays · 28/08/2007 19:07

Hello
I was lurking and saw Ready's possibly positive news - and got too excited to lurk! It ain't over 'til Fat Aunt Flo sings, babe. Hoping for you.
(I logged off for a bit as IVF BFN was hard for me to deal with - feeling alot better now and planning IVF Octoberish).
Hope your bloke is having success finding his next club. Cxx

Hi to everyone else - wishing you bags of luck and hope to join you one day on the Ante Natal threads, Cxx

Ready · 28/08/2007 21:36

OOOOH. Chocolatedays - I was thinking about you last week. I was even really geeky and did a "search for messages". I am pleased that you are feeling better after your initial disappointment. My fingers and toes are firmly crossed for your next attempt in October. You deserve that BFP sweets! Rooting for you, all the very best, don't be a stranger Ready x

Still nothing to report from me... but I honestly don't think this is the month. Next month though

Thanks for the offer of the high temps Rattling - that is some high pre-ov temps you got going on there. Have you put your heating back on?

Hope everyone else is doing well? Thanks ever so much for all the support. Save some for next month won't you all

RahRah1 · 29/08/2007 08:27

Hi Chocolatedays, sorry to hear you didn't get a positive result this month , all the luck in the world for Oct.
I start IUI shortly, hopefully Oct. The clinic have not called me in yet for my induction , should be the month before the treatment starts. Best wishes Xx

Howdy Girlies... I am wishing for a mega great big temp hike for Ready!

Anyone heard from Thinking?????? Limbo land is getting to be a long time... Did you say you were breast feeding. Could be worth having a word with your health visitor?? Hope AF or BFP comes soon.. Xx

Howdy gals. Rah sorry to hear you have not been called up yet (so to speak) and Ready sorry to see that normal service has been resumed. It will be my turn in a few days.

OV totally delayed due to stinking chesty cold while up in yorks. Too sick for any BD, except on thurs nite so short of a miracle, it will be back to the top in 6 days.

Have been to see a counsellor for a few weeks and I have to say it has been brilliant. It has been great to talk about my feelings without any judgement. I strongly recommend it.

I am going to have such a high coverline this month, no idea why I'm so hot at the moment. It is quite nice outside, but far from tropical.

I think this is the month, we all get BFP's and end this thread!! Just as long as I'm not the only one left, posting to myself. Perhaps we need to start recruiting

Hello Ladies,

I was temping with you all briefly a few weeks ago and then had some tests which gave me some rather upsetting results (v high FSH, very low ovarian reserve - the test results even said "fertility very low/undetectable") so I couldn't face it and stopped posting.

I hope you are all well - I see there have been some BFPs recently so I am sure it is just a matter of time for you (although I know that is frustrating)

Anyway - I wonder if you can help. A consultant I have seen has just done a day 22 progesterone test and based on that one result (don't know score yet but it must be below the threshold for him to be so sure) he says I am not ov'ing but I thought my temp chart showed that I am ov'ing. Do you know whether a temp rise in second half is definitive proof of O? The only trick he has to pull of of the bag for me is Clomid and I don't want that because I have read in a couple of places that when you have v low ovarian reserve it can actually work against you and shut down the ovaries further (I admit that is anecdotal rather than scientific evidence but enough to give me a wobble about it!)

Any advice/knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Bx

Morning Blueberry et all I think I can help, as I had similar tests (as I recall it was at the same time ish as you).

Well I was told all was "normal" and I had a bit of a rant!

Well today I was back at Docs as cold has now turned into sinusitus and with the weekend coming up I decided to go and visit him and get some drugs. Ok back on point NV!!

While there I asked him about my results and as we have a good IT system down here, I can see the report over his shoulder on the screen.

Anyway the "normal" result was for my CD2 blood work up!! The CD21 (which was CD23 for me), was for progesterone levels. Mine was 19 and the report says it should be over 30! whoops. Anyway that indicates that I am probably not ovulating or if I am ovulating that explians the v short LP (only 9 days).

So..... I guess what I am saying Blue is that I still get a regular looking chart see here for ff charts, as I am producing the right hormones, just not in the right amounts. that particular month I also did not get and LH surge so I am not surprised I did not OV. but I guess the consultant will be suggesting clomid to us as well, when we go in a couple of weeks.

If your levels of progesterone are the only problem there are other options I believe, such as B6, progesterone creams and apparently a drug called Prometrium (but I am no doc so don't trust me!!!!! )

I know that this probably does not reassure you in anyway or improve your feelings, but I will tell you what the doc says to us after 11th if that helps.

btw girls this months chart is just blinking ridiculous due to sickness, and I am going to have to work out OV by taking 9 off when AF starts!!!!

blueberry79 · 31/08/2007 18:41

Thank you Nappy

Sorry to hear you have had trouble too - esp with uncommunicative doctor. I had a look at your charts - have you tried herbs? agnus castus can help lengthen a short lp. great that you are seeing a consultant soon - keep me posted on what he has to say.

I am still a bit muddled about temp charts though and whether or not they are proof of ovulation. I thought that progesterone was produced by corpeus luteum post ovulation and that prog is what causes a temp rise so...... if there's no ovulation there's no progesterone and presumably no temp rise....?

And if you look at FF at the chart gallery all the anovulatory charts are quite flat. When I mentioned charting and acupuncture to doc he just said "you don't really believe all that mumbo jumbo do you" so no help there!

Bizarrely I have been refusing to accept what the doc has told me about me not ov'ing this month and was hoping for a miraculous BFP (had so many 'symptoms'!!) to wipe the smug smile off his face. Sadly that little fantasy is over as AF is here . Still - at least I can start again and hope for the essential egg this month!
