Well FF has decided I ovulated on wednesday.
Feeling very unoptimisitic this month. But as Ds is asleep and DH is working from home, I am off for my blood test. I hate it I feel like I am giving up and admitting there is a problem, but equally I would like to know there is not!

ok ttfn

blueberry78 · 09/07/2007 17:30

Hello Girls

I've only just discovered Mums Net today, started reading your discussions, got completely sucked in and lost all track of time. This is my first month of temping (am using FF) and it all seems a bit stressful doing it on your own. It seems a lot more fun to be in a group - do you mind if I join your merry band?

Am on 10dpo, CD24, (3rd cycle). I had convinced myself I had all manner of 'symptoms' but they seemed to have disappeared and now temps are dropping - 36.80 today.

Gracie14 · 09/07/2007 19:00

Hi blueberry,

Always lovely to have a new member in the group

Are you trying for your first baby?

blueberry78 · 09/07/2007 19:08

Thank you for the lovely welcome - yes I am trying for my first baby. What about all of you?
Thanks for adding me to the temping list Thinking. Btw - what does LP mean?

NappyValley · 09/07/2007 19:54

Hi Blueberry. We are a mix of people trying for first and further babas. Some have sadly had miscarriages and some are having fertility issues and some of us just can't quite hit the mark so temping helps. Myself I am trying to for second child DS is 19mo.

I posted this before, but I remember struggling for ages with the abreviations, so here is a heads up

BFP - big fat positive
BD - baby dancing/ baby days/ sex
AF - period
CD - chart day /cycle day - CD1 is first day of period
OV - ovulation
LP - luteal phase - the bit between OV and AF
DPO - days past ovulation
OPK - ovulation predictor kit
FF - fertility friend
EWCM - egg white cervical mucus

thinking - no I don't mind you asking, are there any secrets left here!! It was a CD21 test, even though it is CD23 today to check my progesterone levels. I have to do another one at CD2-4. It should give them an idea if I am ovulating properly.

RahRah1 · 09/07/2007 19:59

Howdy guys

Hope all is well..

BIG welcome to blueberry78..I'm 'The Rah', been TTC for 8 months since I was last pregnant. We lost the pregnancy at 24 weeks, so in total I have been trying TTC for 32 months...so technically trying for my second. I am having a break from temping, so I am a lurker as we are on the waiting list for IUI in a few months. Phew..a bit of a long intro, sorry!

LP is the phase after you ovulate. Most womens LP is between 10-16 days and is pretty much the same each month. Therefore once you work out your LP and know when you ovulate you can tell when you will be due on exactly or hopefully never come on (for 9 months at least!).

nomoremagnolia - Don't worry about missing the odd day temping, but must be coming up to the 'busy' time!

NappyValley - Good luck on your blood test. I have had that one a few times and its always come back fine. I'm sure yours will too as you seem to ovulate. XX

MrsMcJnr - Thanks , I'm glad someone paid attention to me..., the rest of the girls ignored my weekend antics!

Ready - How comes your so busy... I have given you a poke! Hope you had a fun packed day!

Gracie14 - might be just a temp blip, see what happens tomorrow, if your temp is back up I would ignore todays.

Rainbowdays - sending you hugs...glad you are feeling like getting back into the swing of it this month.

minxi - Your temp is still well above the coverline and still very hot! I never reach that! Hopefully it will stay there or go back up, fingers crossed for you!

duchess - how are you getting on? Your temps seem nice and high, what is the normal lenght of your cycle?

Well guess what, my friend has just announced she is getting married in Cuba next year in April. I really want to go so we are going to book and if we are pregnant (fingers crossed) then we will just cancel. Sods law I will get pregnant in the March!

Rainbowdays · 09/07/2007 20:06

blueberry - hi and welcome, others here got in before me to answer the lp question. I always thought mine was 13 or 14, but fertilty friend software has it at 10 or 11 days average! It took me a few months to start believing the software.

Rah - I was not ignoring your weekend antics, I was just waiting til you got over your mega hangover , Good on you for booking to go to cuba, despite knowing that you will have to cancel!!!! (confidence on your behalf here!).

Sorry to not chat further have job application forms waiting for my attention.

Gracie14 · 09/07/2007 20:46

Rah - Sorry didn't mean to ignore your weekend . Your right about being thankful for your DP and I can assure you it isn't just Coventry that have no decent fellas!!

I hope your right about the temps, I really hoped to have ovulated by now as DP is working for the next few days

Blueberry - I'm trying for my first - came off the pill in September '06 and been trying to concieve with no luck so I have started temping to see if I'm ovualting.

I also had a smear test on Friday and spoke to the nurse about how long we have been ttc and she said that as we were both young the doctors proberbly wouldn't look into any tests until with have been trying for well over a year and to relax - which as we all know doesn't happen! So I'm going to keep temping and see what happens.

Also bought the 'Taking charge of your fertilty' book and in there it said if you haven't had any luck concieving after 4 or 5 cycles charting your temps and timing bding right then you should speak to your doctor - so I may just follow that advice because I don't think I can wait much longer than a year of trying incase there is something that could be done before that.

Sorry for rambling - just finding this ttc stuff much much harder than I ever thought possible

Good Morning Ladies

I am trying OPK's this first cycle to check if I am ovulating or not and I am getting a list of faint (i.e. negative) test lines...but as I can ovulate as late as CD22, there is plenty of time to pee on OPK test strips
