Advice on negative pg tests?

Hey! Just looking for some experience! Has anyone actually been pregnant and took a while to show positive on a hpt? I have a few symptoms and in general feel like I could be! My AF would've been due between last Thursday and yesterday but took a hpt last Wednesday and yesterday and both show negative :( I'm using Superdrug's cheap make. I'm NEVER late for AF so feeling positive. Almost every post I've read seems that everyone tests positive before their AF is due so feeling a bit disappointed at the moment!

Hope you don't mind me jumping onto this thread.

I ovulated late this month and just had some implantation bleeding.

I got these two tests first response about an hour ago which is really exciting but a negagtive on clear blue digital. Because I ovulated late I don't know the date of my expected period. Are the first response tests much more sensitive?

Congrats @Han22 that’s a definite positive.. the clear blue digital are not sensitive like the first response... congratulations!!! X

Damn I got the wrong tests 🙈🙈 ovulation!

Time to wait for the frer I guess and still haven’t come 🙄

I've been ttc for over 2 yrs now.

Currently on day 39 of my cycle and just tested. got a BFN! (V.cheap test)
My cycles are very irregular but an avg of 29-30 days since having dd. I do recall a 42 day cycle once over 4 yrs ago though, pre dd.

So desperately trying to stop convincing myself I am. I don't feel like I am. By this time with dd I was suffering horrific migraines and food aversion. Which is the only reason I tested then. Last time I was BFN at 4 weeks ish (I wasn't obsessive about it then as had only been 'trying' for 3 mths!) And got a bfp at 6 weeks when I tested again.

Hopelessly failing at not letting myself believe I am 😥.

@namechangergamechanger87 Of course there's room! I'm sorry you're feeling like this! it is awful isn't it! Have you had any symptoms at all? Every pregnancy is meant to be different so don't be too disheartened by not having the same symptoms as before! Xx

@kate123cl haha so did 🙈 what an idiot, picked up two packs of ovulation instead of one of each... anyway my symptoms have all changed from last night, having been getting the odd sick feeling.. stomach cramps gone and boobs feeling achey! I think if this frer says negative then I’m off to drs Monday.. as starting to worry now! How are you feeling after today test? Why don’t you get a frer?

@TTCnamechange welcome 😊 don’t be disheartened, like Kate said each pregnancy is different... I also have a dd 😊
Best to get a frer test, ordered mine off the internet just waiting now!

@Rose2887 Haha! Ooo feeling sick maybe a good sign!! Definitely get a docs appointment if nothing shows by Monday. I'm rescheduling my appointment until Monday too. I'm worried I may have PCOS😩 been spending way too much time on google!🙁 I might get a fr! Xxx

I’m in utter confusion... I feel more pregnant today than ever... I think a blood test is the only way we will know!

Thought this may be useful guide to testing and using the most sensitive tests??! Guessing Superdrug is a good bet :) x

Hi ladies yes I've been testing because I thought I was late ageeeessss ago but what I think happened is I oved late this month. Loads of symptoms but bfn with some vvfl. Just got this on a frer and sure I can see something but it's do faint shouldn't it be darker by now,??!

@Rose2887 it just says if you have more than 2 symptoms then it's likely to have it, which I do I hope not!
It's good that you're beginning to feel pregnant! Maybe hormone levels are still too low?! I think blood test is your best bet! That's interesting re the Superdrug tests... I've used the Wilkinson's strip tests before and they're 10 mlU! Xxx

I have PCOS, after 6 months of trying GP has referred me for an ultrasound. Hoping I get some answers.

@MaGratgarlik1983 I think I can see something very faintly! I think some people just don't show on hpts! Do you think it's a good idea to book a docs appointment?? Xx

@ClaryFray that's interesting, did you have any symptoms? I do have regular (until this month) AFs so could this still be possible PCOS? X

My symptoms have been periods late. Every month. With no logical reason. And I'm worried. GP offered to refer, because it's been 6 months with a underlining condition.

Thanks. Could deal with another disappointment it's the hoping and not knowing that's the killer isn't it!

Had the odd niggle I could put down to symptoms, a very short severe bout of nausea one morning for example, but nothing that makes me think absolutely yes.

Been toying with ordering a FRER but thought a standard would pick anything up by now. Still would whittle it was a chemical if that picked it up! 🙄🙃 my hand is still poised over the buy button on Amazon!

As for PCOS that some of you are talking about, I've had that queried in my past. I have almost all symptoms, mostly minor presentations, but no actual visible cysts when I've been scanned so no help with that. My SIL has it confirmed though and conceived after having the dye test to check tube patency. She's convinced it cleared them.

@TTCnamechange Agreed, it's definitely the not knowing/ hoping that tires is out haha!
Same as me, nothing massive is pointing towards a yes!
That's promising re PCOS, I don't think it effects everyone's fertility! 🤞🏼

@Kate123cl I hadn't planned on testing today! I just have no will power 😂. Trying to wait a few days before testing again but knowing me I'll give in again tmw!

So guys I don’t think I’m going to manage a test as my frer hasn’t come and I’m staying away this weekend with dp 😕
Dtd last night though.... on average how often is everyone doing it?? I think it’s about 4x a week for me. I had a lecture with dp this morning as I had a dream he’d taken up smoking again secretly, took it so seriously thought it was real, he assured me he hasn’t! Just know it affects fertility 🙄

@Rose2887 on no! Never mind, might be a good thing to be away as it'll take your mind off of testing lol! Wow, that's a lot - really good! I haven't dtd in about a week! Very hard to find the energy at the moment lol! Not going to test today, going to wait until Monday! Xxx
