Hello everyone!

Starting an April thread because I couldn't see one yet.

I'm 33 (for another week!)
TTC baby number 4
Cycle 3
CD 3
BFP due 11/04

AF is nearly over here, I'll actually be fertile when DP is off work this month which helps. If I get my BFP this month I'll be due in the middle of December.

I'm invoking Murphy's law this month. I'm bound to get a BFP the week before we go for a child free week's holiday right? Grin

@Chel1888 ah no! You're not out yet though still only early 👍🏼x

FrowningFlamingo · 04/04/2018 13:57

SpottyYellow I've read that alcohol impacts on sperm quality more than anything for women so you can tell your partner it's a really good point and he should step away from the beer immediately!
We are both drinking in moderation - much the same as usual. If we have a 'big' social event and it's near AF I do a test just in case. Similar to PPs I've been told that the foetus have any ill effect from alcohol until there's enough shared blood supply to have a positive test anyway. Having been trying for 6 months I'd be utterly miserable if I'd been tee total the whole time, to be honest!

I've felt really, really sick the last couple of mornings but I'm moving house on Friday and really stressed so it's probably that rather than anything more exciting!

Boboelephant · 04/04/2018 15:08

Long thread to catch up on!!! Sorry for those with bfns. They suck!
@SpottyYellowDress as the others have said, I also drink throughout cycle. Not excessively and not every day but I will stop when I get the bfp. I didn't find out I was pregnant with DS until 6 weeks and the doc confirmed to me too that you can't harm bubs until 6 weeks. I think the stress of limiting everything can be more detrimental than the wine! I totally second @FrowningFlamingo comment!!
@PassTheAfterEights haha fancy! If this works you have to name bubs a wood themed name- Oak for a boy, Maple for a girl?? 🤣🤣
I have no idea where I'm at now. Bbt is showing I ovulated last Friday, I never got a positive opk and lines just keep getting darker and then fading and I had ewcm Sat, Sun and Mon??? So I could be 5dpo from temps, 2dpo from EWCM or yet to ovulate! Day 19 and feeling frustrated!

Babybeany · 04/04/2018 16:18

@Boboelephant its frustrating not knowing when you ovulate isn’t it? I forgot to take my tests away with me this weekend so we dbd’d twice a day! Gorgeous boyfriend is probably exhausted now! I’m on cd15 of a 28 day cycle so I guess I’m in the 2WW now.
@PassTheAfterEights I am going to try and hold off testing at all until I miss my AF... I end up getting far to upset with a negative result and then I get cross about spending my pennies on POAS! 😉 x

@Spottyyellowdress I am embracing the vino all the while I am able to and probably drank way too much over the bank holidays!

@Alex2790 I am new to the ovulation tests so keen to know how you get on?!

Fx for all of us! Keep smiling fellow crazies! 😍 x

Babybeany · 04/04/2018 16:22

@Chel1888 when is AF due? Do you have anymore tests? Can you use FMU tomorrow? X

Alex2790 · 04/04/2018 16:25

@babybeany i will do fingers crossed for us all this month. Usually with the clearblue opk tests you get two high days sometimes can be 4 then you get two peak days which is when your most likley to be ovulating. i have never had 7 high days before im keeping everything crossed that its my turn this month af due 16th april been trying since end of june so its a long time coming 🙏🏻 X baby dust to everyone

Spottyyellowdress · 04/04/2018 16:46

@chel1888 there’s still time! Stay positive, it’s very early :)

Rose2887 · 04/04/2018 17:28

Hey everyone so my last bleed was around 22nd of Feb and stopped my pill mid pack around 8th or March... had 3 day withdrawal bleed and since nothing, had cramps, sore boobs and today have woken up feeling extremely tired and abit strange... almost fuzzy!!!! I bought test the early first response and was negative.... could of conceived anytime from the 10th to now so not sure if I’m testing too early or what....
keep getting these cramps though and expecting to bleed and nothing... so confused!!!!
Good luck everyone 💝

Babybeany · 04/04/2018 17:42

Hi @Rose2887 when did you have your 3 day withdrawal bleed? If you have been waiting since the 10th March, that’s a long time... might be worth seeing your gp as they can do a blood pregnancy test. Sometimes your hormones aren’t very high in your pee. Did you use your FMU? X

Rose2887 · 04/04/2018 17:53

@Babybeany
My withdrawal bleed was about 10th March and lasted 3 days...
I didn’t do a fmu with the early response but I had some from Amazon the early testing blue stick ones and they said negative! Really not sure what to think at all... I’m a bit worried though, was due my smear in January also and still haven’t had the letter have called the dr several times but they have said that I need to wait for a letter!! Nightmare. Could it be that I fell pregnant only a couple of weeks ago and is too early?? Xxx

Rose2887 · 04/04/2018 17:54

@Babybeany

Thanks for responding and hope you are okay? Xx

Babybeany · 04/04/2018 18:20

@Rose2887 I guess you don’t know how long your cycles are yet due to only coming off the pill recently. If you have a 28 day cycle then your period will be due this weekend sometime. I would try not to over analyse at the moment. Perhaps if you’re not on AF by Monday then POAS again. Your cramps could be your body getting back into the swing of your natural cycle. Are you keen to try for a baby? If yes then good luck to you! X

Owlpatrol · 04/04/2018 18:44

Warning...ranty post

Argh so annoyed!!!!! I ordered pre seed as a suprise for us this month and dh questioned me on how much we are spending on ttc! He's like all these tests you buy (internet cheapies) and now special lube!? I'm like argh you have no idea good job we don't need ivf...yet...then he starts on at me about the cost of children etc and have "i" thought this through...me! Really after 16 months i haven't thought about the costs....what a joke. Then he said he's too tired to try tonight anyway. Whatever I can't be bothered anyway Lol! Men!!!

MrsY87 · 04/04/2018 18:44

@Alex2790 I got 7 high readings and a peak on the 8th day this cycle. I had the same some cycles when I was using them when we were ttcing my DS. I had good success using them before so hoping for the same this time! Fx they work for you!

Alex2790 · 04/04/2018 19:18

@MrsY87 thanks fingers crossed did not realise trying for a baby would take so long you hear about these people falling pregant straight away i feel like i have been trying for ages now x

MrsY87 · 04/04/2018 19:49

@Alex2790 ttc definitely isn't as straight forward as you are told in sex ed classes ...I've been one of the lucky ones and fell on my 1st cycle with DD but then it took us 10 cycles & 2mcs to have our DS. Really hope it happens for you soon, I find ttc really emotionally draining

Spottyyellowdress · 04/04/2018 20:31

Early af for me :( and to top it off, I’m at the MiL’s...big glass of wine tonight!

clairehr · 04/04/2018 21:04

Sorry @spottyyellowdress Wine sounds like a good plan.

Symptom spotting here, promised myself I wouldn't this month! Got pinching pains in my lower abdomen and feel nauseous and dizzy. I know it's too early for any kind of symptom so don't know why I'm torturing myself!

HidCat · 04/04/2018 21:18

@Owlpatrol my DH did the same thing. We'd got over the childcare issue on DS but he said I was spending too much on pg and ov tests (I've been buying the clear and simple ones - £1 for 3pg test or 5 ov). I pointed out that the day he said that he spent £50 on "collectibles". He soon stfu 😂

KnitKitty · 04/04/2018 21:38

I'm tentatively joining the April bus.

I'm TTC no.1 but recovering after a MMC. Had D&C a week and a day ago and still spotting at the moment.

Not sure whether to wait to have a normal period again as recommended by medics before TTC again or once the bleeding stops to just get at it again.

Wishing the bleeding would stop as my partner and I haven't been able to be intimate for a good month and a half now!

Dreading taking a pregnancy test in a week's time to confirm the pregnancy has finished, but at the same time impatient to see the BFN to be able to move on.

Good luck to everyone else this month!

Owlpatrol · 04/04/2018 21:44

@clairehr hehe I always say I won't symptom spot but i do anyway!

@HidCat thanks hun they just don't get it!

Babybeany · 04/04/2018 22:53

@Knitkitty I know it’s tough, but if you can wait until your first AF it really does help. Otherwise in a months time you will be beside yourself wondering ‘what if?’ I ended up POAS about 15-20 times before my first AF arrived. No fun, plus expensive! Im so sad for your loss. Fx for your bfn in a week so you can start all your lurve making again with no complications.
I know ultimately you will do what you need to! It’s such an awful experience and greatly unspoken of. X

Chel1888 · 05/04/2018 00:47

@hatethesnow @spottyyellowdress thankyou ladies hope so

@babybeany af is due on 7th so i tested 3 days early with clearblue early detection.. i have another in the draw as it was a pack of 2. whats a fmu?

Pob13 · 05/04/2018 05:45

@Chel1888 fmu - first morning urine/urination

Anyone know how long you are meant to keep your legs in the air after dtd?! I started to get pins and needles last night 😂

Chel1888 · 05/04/2018 06:23

Oh thanks @pob13

@babybeany think I may just wait and see if I miss af now... hmmmm

My bbt is still going up.. the highest Iv ever tested it as.. only been testing this month though. Does anyone know when it usually dips before af?
