Yum was in need of a new thread, and I thought the title was apt because it's not just TCOYF charts anymore... hope it's ok?? I don't want anyone to think I am taking over

Just needing something, anything, to take my mind OFF my impending doom

OP posts:
mum03 · 11/06/2007 19:50

I am still here, just trying not to be mn obsessed and failing !!!! I only lurk occasionally now. Just entering 2ww and feeling like sighing heavily thinking it is never going to happen...

3cats - so you are in the 2ww too....

cityangel - hope the dh results come back ok.

Mrsmc - hope you are doing ok

I have to say that I miss Ready, but I hope that she gets her bfp this month too.

cityangel · 11/06/2007 23:23

We have to wait until late August

How is everyone doing.

Ready you there?

3catstoo · 12/06/2007 09:37

for the results?

That's a long wait.

DH has his appt for the test in late Sept. I haven't told him that hiss appt has come through yet. Silly but I'm kind of hoping I won't have to tell him, iyawim.
So that means it would probably be Nov/Dec before we woulg get his results.

MrsMc, what kind of dietry changes do you mean? I have no idea on these things but am willing to give anything a go to boost our chances. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

I am feeling very pre menstral today .
Migraine, moody, cramps.

I've had a few days of feeling incredibly hungry . Made me feel slightly positive about this month. Now I don't.

I've told a few RL friends but wish I hadn't because it feels like they are examining my every move and just waiting for me to announce some good news.

The playground is just so full of pg women, all about to pop! Roll on the summer hols so I don't have to see them on a daily basis.

City are you using you CBFM still?

Hi Mum03, how are you doing?
I know what you mean about not wanting to be obsessed but it's soooo hard isn't it.

Hi to anyone else lurking.

cityangel · 12/06/2007 13:35

I will start using the CBFM (in secret from dh) next month!

This month there is very little hope as we had a week off for dh's test. Worth trying to get dh sperm tests in a non important week!

Hugs to everyone

iwillbepositive · 12/06/2007 16:27

Hello all,
Feeling rather despairing about the whole ttc nightmare (should prob head for the Hut but thought I might seek out some positive vibes). Usually feel quite cheerful and hopeful during the bding phase, but somehow even that has eluded me this month. Had rather pressured shag this morning before dh headed off to work and feel very nostalgic for the days when sex was for fun rather than procreation. Plus am waiting for test results and have rather neurotically convinced myself that it is chlamydia plus thyroid problem plus diabetes all rolled into one . Hope everyone else is feeling happier!

iwillbepositive · 12/06/2007 16:31

Sorry on the wrong thread! Am obviously knackered from this morning

3catstoo · 13/06/2007 13:11

Sorry to hear you are feeling down iwillbe. What test results are you waiting for?
At least you got some bding in today. My DH wouldn't even think of that at 5.30 in the morning when he has limited time to get washed dressed and fed. Fingers crossed that you've hit the jackpot.
Let us know how it goes. Big Hugs.

I've had spotting this morning and feel quite disheartened now. Achy tummy and moody with it . AF due Friday although I suspect it will be Sat if last cycle was anything to go by.
I have no tests in the house so that I cannot be tempted into testing early and wasting them!

How's everyone else doing?

MrsMcJnr · 14/06/2007 15:19

Cityangel ? I am sorry hon it must be really hard news to swallow. What can be done? Have they said?

3cats ? sorry to hear that the meds don?t make you feel better fingers crossed they make a difference where it really counts. I?ll dig out the super shake recipes and post them for you

Mum03 ? hello

I?m ok ? feeling very sick this week which is hindering my progress everywhere. We go on holiday on Sat until 3/7 so I won?t be around but will be thinking of you all

Ready · 14/06/2007 20:40

Hey ladies, how?s it going? I have only just found the time to sit and write a proper post? hope all is well with everyone? Did you miss me?

Cityangel - I?m here chick!! Hope you are ok?? I know what you are saying about 10 months in, that is exactly how I feel right now. I don?t think the word despondent really explains how I feel right now. Big hugs flower! Hang in there!
Still no news on DH career prospects, but it?s always quiet at this time of year, we are just waiting to see. House on the market though, so we are prepared. I have been to GP and the balls are rolling on that now too ? she?s amazing, really impressed with my charts, and has referred us. DH had to do his ?business? on Monday, and apparently the results are back within 14 days. How come you have to wait so long? Is it because it?s London do you think??

Mum03 - It?s lovely of you to say you missed me. I missed all you ladies too ? but I daren?t even log on to MN from my MIL?s computer. Can you imagine if she came across the site ? can, open, worms, everywhere
I emailed you by the way! Your house is coming along nicely! Good to see.

3cats - Sorry to hear that you would have to pay for IUI, and that DH would not be up for that. How are you?
Is it really a sign of your thyroid that ovulation happens later? I have just had my thyroid checked and it?s fine, so that is something else ticked off the list. But I have had a couple of late ovulations, and I wonder what caused them?
I know what you mean about telling people in RL ? there are one or two people that I wish I hadn?t told as now it is frustrating having to say ?no, still nothing!?

MrsMc - How?s it going? You glowing? How is it with the injections? Have a lovely holiday!

Seaside - Hope you are doing ok?

Right? sorry if I have missed anyone off, but I can?t remember who is still on this thread? Seems to be a very small group of us. Rah are you lurking???

3catstoo · 17/06/2007 08:53

AF arrived this morning .

My longest cycle for 10 months. 33days.

It was 26 for quite a while but has gradually crept up. (one symptom of the hypothyroid).

So now into month 11 of ttc.

How are you ladies doing?
Sorry to be down on here.

3catstoo · 19/06/2007 11:49

Hello,

Nobody here again.

I got a call about DHs appt yesterday. They have had a cancellation for next week and wanted to know if DH can do that instead of September. I thought it was great. DH was not so keen. Fortunately for him he has a training course and so can't make it anyway .

Is this now going to look bad and imply that we are not making an effort?

I had another thyroid blood test today. again she had to take it from both arms as it was a bit slow coming out of the first one!
I have to wait a week for the results but hopefully they will increase my dose and I will feel the effects before I next Ov. Potentially 3 weeks away!

Anyone else got any news?

Ready · 19/06/2007 12:34

3cats - Sorry to hear about AF
Don't worry about not being able to make the cancellation they offered your DH - it won't look like you are not making effort. They will understand that people can't always just drop things for appointments. Good news that you might get a new dose for your thyroid - hope you feel the effects soon!

Hope everyone else is doing well. It is very quiet on here!

Ready · 21/06/2007 12:09

Crumbs this thread is slowly fading out...

3catstoo · 22/06/2007 13:48

You are right there Ready.
Not sure what's happening. Has everyone moved to a different thread that I don't know about?

How are you anyway?

Did anyone watch the 'make me a baby'programme on BBC3 last night, with Zita West in?

I ordered some Zita West pre conception vitamins yesterday afternoon and they arrived this morning. Very fast service.
I haven't been taking any vits for a while but thought I should try again. I'm trying not to drink too much tea today and drinking water instead. Not done me much good though as I now have a headache.

DH's sperm bottle and instructions came today, ready for September. Now we just have to find a safe place to keep it until the day of the appt.

Ready · 22/06/2007 16:49

Well 3cats I am still here
It's funny that you said that about not having too much tea. I have one cup with breakfast and if I skip it for whatever reason, I get a headache - I think that is caffeine addiction no? I don't think one cup a day will do any harm. It's all I have now. I take pregnacare - I just assume that even if I never get pregnant, the vitamins are good for my health. Sigh.

Haha - the infamous sperm pot! My DH has just had to do his. Our GP has been brilliant - and apparently the "12 month guideline" is a load of tosh - Our GP said that investigations should start once a couple are concerned about the time ttc. So have been referred. DH's appointment (though he did the deed at home) was 2 weeks ago, and they said the results should be back within 14 days. Did I say all this already? Sorry if I am repeating myself - too lazy to check!

So tell me about this programme on BBC3? I missed it - will it be repeated??

Better get on... Cityangel are you there chick????

cityangel · 24/06/2007 23:42

Hi Everyone... I hope you're all ok.

Thanks for the message Ready... you ok?

I'm still her just fed up with it all. I don't why the hospital can't give us our results until August. I am really fed up with the whole thing now really. CD1 today

The hospital doctor rubbished the charts and brainwashed dh into believing they are stressful and prevent pg. Very annoying.

I've agreed reluctantly to give it up for the last 2 months. In return we're supposed to have nookie every 3 days.

Just had it really. I don't even expect to get pregnant any more.

I hope everyone else is doing ok.

Glad to see things are moving 3catsoo

Thinking · 25/06/2007 08:08

cityangel,

How stupid of your doctor, sounds like he knows nothing about FAM/NFP.

So we are meant to hit our 2 days of fertile days by having sex every 3 days thoughout the month ?!? When three weeks of the month are for practice only and the critical week could have very bad timing if we were unlucky

I find charting really useful and helps me relax. I charted 4 cycles before starting to TTc and was lucky enough to fall pregnant first cycle we tried, no way was the chart stressful.

In fact I found my last cycle when I wasn't charting very stressful as I had no idea where I was and I had to guess all the time, I started charting midmonth
and couldn't wait for that cycle to end which it did at day 50 !!!

3catstoo · 25/06/2007 12:21

Hi City. Sorry about AF.

The programme on BBC3 did say that BDing should be every 2-3 days throughout (apart during AF I guess). The reasoning was to replenish the sperm supply.

A couple on the programme were ONLY having sex for 3 days a month around her fertile time. They thought they were saving up all of his sperm so that there were loads at the crucial time.
The doctors thought this was a very bad idea as sperm cannot live that long. Dying sperm injure other sperm and so you are left with alot of not good sperm.

The programme mentionned weight (under and over) smoking, alcohol, diet, caffeine (sp?), age, frequency of sex, oral sex (having oral sex before intercourse could still damage the sperm as saliva can kill sperm).

At the end they got the 100 couples to test.
12 out of 100 were already pregnant.

I found it interesting even if it did state the obvious in some cases.

I haven't managed to stay off the caffeine. I had a 2 day migraine which I'm putting down to withdrawl.
Like you say Ready, in moderation.
I never have any will power for these things.

Well I think DH is avoiding me. No bding since Thursday, when he was drunk .
Normally it's just at the weekend because he falls asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow. I think I've got my work cut out this cycle. Ov is predicted for cd!& although it has got later with each cycle, so I expect more like cd20.
So we've failed the every 3 days rule!!!

3catstoo · 25/06/2007 12:23

City, I meant to say that the Fertility women I saw first didn't want to know about my charts. I had printed them all off to show her but she was not interested.

They all seem to be like that now.

3catstoo · 28/06/2007 12:10

Come on everybody...where are you all hiding?
It's getting a bit lonely over here .

DH stuck to his guns last night and reached for the drawer at that crucial moment . I kind of stuck to my guns too(hence no heart on my chart!)

I put him on the spot and told him that he had been very distant. The only attention I have received was a whole week ago when he was drunk. Even the weekend was a let down.

He said this baby business is putting him off.
He soon got amorous (sp?) when I told him I would be on the lookout for a toyboy .
Still didn't stop him reaching for the drawer followed by a brief argument!

I'm sure I'm going to Ov in the next few days. Last cycle it was cd20 but I feel like it's building up already.

I had better try hard to get him tipsy this weekend .

I can't believe that 11 months in and after all the tests I've had, he's doing this.

Sorry had a bit of a rant.

Hope you are all having more luck than me, wherever you are.

Ready · 28/06/2007 12:19

Cityangel at the consultant saying that charting is stressful and prevents pregnancy. I have never heard anything so daft. Bit concerned about my appointment now, because if they try and tell me that charting is why I haven't conceived, I may pop! I've been reading Toni Weschler's book (have you read it??) and it's very interesting.
I do agree with the thinking that sex should be something you do throughout the cycle, but that's not to say that charting cannot be used in conjunction with regular sex.
How are you anyway? I am not far behind you, 12dpo today, and all the telltale signs - CD1 tomorrow

3catstoo - totally agree, moderation is key. A little caffeine is not going to hurt.
at your DH reaching for the drawer. Sorry to hear that it's still a united decision - that must be really tough for you. I hope you can agree soon. Fingers crossed.

Thinking - You are right, so few people in the medical profession understand FAM. It's a shame, because sometimes that is all some couples need!

Well... I am down in the dumps, and contemplating going to the Hut! I know, shocking to hear from me, the Positivity Princess - but I just don't believe I will ever conceive at this rate. BIG SIGH.

3catstoo · 28/06/2007 12:26

Hi Ready.
Where are you in your cycle?

Have you read the thread about the clearblue trial and free opks/hpts?

I've called the number but it was on answer phone.

Hope you feel better soon.
Big hugs.

Ready · 28/06/2007 12:29

3catstoo - I'm 12dpo today, CD28, so CD1 is tomorrow, and all the cramps suggest that nothing spectacular will occur. The only difference this cycle, is that my breasts have not been sore, and normally (TMI ALERT!) my nipples are red raw for a few days before CD1. It's been a blessing
I just don't feel positive. At all.

Ready · 28/06/2007 12:33

I had thought of doing the trial, but to be honest, I have just got a referral and I need to concentrate on that for the time being, so didn't sign up. Would have been great 6 months ago!

3catstoo · 28/06/2007 13:17

I might give it a go, if DH pulls his socks up!

I have everything crossed for you that tomorrow is a positive day.
