Yum was in need of a new thread, and I thought the title was apt because it's not just TCOYF charts anymore... hope it's ok?? I don't want anyone to think I am taking over

Just needing something, anything, to take my mind OFF my impending doom

Giggled at the thought of him pulling his socks up

Well, so far cramps are getting stronger, and CD1 is not too far away. Tut.

3catstoo · 29/06/2007 16:37

Yes if only that was all he wanted to pull up .

I really feel like Ov is imminent, very very spotty, EWCM etc. But -ve opks.
I think I will aim for a productive weekend.
I've put DH's wine in the fridge ready .

Sorry you are still having cramps. Hope AF doesn't come and ruin your weekend.

Did you catch the 2nd episode of the baby making programme last night?
It did repeat alot of the first one.

Take care
Big hugs

3catstoo, Is 'reach into drawer' equal wants to use a condom ? Sorry, If I'm getting that wrong but that is confusing.

I caught part two of the 'Make Me a Baby' show.Part very interesting and part frightening...I hated the mass pregnancy test..seemed so impersonal.

I think I'll watch the third one.

cityangel · 30/06/2007 04:05

Hello everyone,

Reaching for the drawer is a tough one 3catsoo. I don't have much personal experience but I recommend a good honest chat together (and the wine in the fridge)

Ready your doctor sounds better than ours. I thought the referral would result in a qualified sensible bod oh no ours was a cold hearted clerk just going through the motions...

The whole subject is so stressful we barely talk about it.

I used to get so excited going on MN considering myself a near expectant now I feel a bit silly almost as if I'm male and it's not possible anyway!

Ho Hum lots to be happy about. How is MrsMC getting on anyone heard? Also Seaside, Iwillbepg and everyone else that used to be on here?

Off to bed before the birds get really annoying.

3catstoo · 30/06/2007 10:38

Wow, City. What were you doing up at that time?

What has your consultant advised to do next?

Mine was a bit like yours. Infact I saw a different person each time and felt like I had to explain everything allover.
As long as they give you the opportunity to have all the right tests I think that's all that matters to them. Some just get on with it a bit quicker.

Still can't understand why you have to wait so long for your DHs results either.
Our letter states that you will have the results within 7 days of the test. DH is going in Sept. (even though he is still swaying on the matter of another baby.

I hope things move on for you. Don't lose heart. We are here for you and can totally understand your feelings. That's the nice thing about MN (most of us are in the same situation and battling the ttc rollercoaster).
Big hugs. (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

Thinking yes your guess was right. Sorry to confuse you.
My situation is rather confusing, even for me.
To cut a long story short, DH is not as keen to have another baby as me. But for 10 months he has, mostly, not done anything to stop it from happening and did kind of 'give in' to my wishes. Every now and then he puts his foot down though, after a hard week at work and feeling tired and stressed etc, he decides he's done enough.
I, on the other hand, am getting more obsessed by the second. When I finally convinced him to give it a go I was under the illusion that after conceiving relatively easily 4 times (1m/c 3 DCs), that I would again. Now into the 11th cycle of ttc and after having various tests and xrays there is no obvious reason for us not conceiving. I think that frightens him now. Sounds silly but I think after a few months of not no success he thought it just would not happen and that I had something wrong with me. Now that is not the case (other than a slightly underactive thyroid which is being treated) he believes it really could happen any time.
Hope that clears it up for you.
I'm not trying to trick DH into getting pregnant as it may have sounded. He is just wavering again and I'm not standing for the messing about.

Infact he went to the pub for a couple of beers and came home in a good mood and needed no persuasion from me .

No news from MrsMc or Seaside. I did see a post from Iwillbe on another ttc thread. I understand that she had a m/c but couldn't work out if she was pg again.

Sorry I went on a bit.

Thinking · 30/06/2007 22:26

3catstoo, Thanks for the further information. I didn't think you were trying to trick him, it just sounded confusing and from what you said it IS confusing for you and your DH.

Sorry, it is taking so long to conceive this time, I suppose we all forget that the average conception time is a year.

We were lucky and fell pregnant first cycle with our DD and I keep trying to remember that fact for this time around but of course I still want it to happen straight away.

3catstoo · 02/07/2007 10:28

Very confusing, yes.
Infact after dragging his heels a few days ago, he's put a big smile on my face 3 nights in a row, without any pressure from me.
Not sure if he knows what he wants.

The sensible thing would be to sit and chat about it properly, but 1) I'm not sensible and 2) I'd rather just take advantage of his weak moments and .

You are like me then Thinking. We were spoilt the first time by falling quickly.

I hope you don't have to wait too long this time.
Fingers crossed for a productive summer.

Ready · 02/07/2007 12:46

Not much to say today. CD2. Longer than normal LP...14 days, first time ever. Wonder what that means??

Hmmm. Anyway. My temp dipped sufficiently to stop me from believing I was pregnant, though I did wonder if it was possible. Idiot.

So Cycle 11 and No Hope.

Sorry for the mope.

3catstoo · 02/07/2007 14:41

Don't be sorry Ready.
Sorry about AF.

So we are both on cycle 11.

My LP also got longer in my 10th cycle. Had always been 11 days, suddenly went to 13 .

Lets hope the summer brings us some luck.

I'm Oving earlier this cycle, today I think.
I have awful tummy pain though. It feels tender to touch.

Are you going to do anything differently this month?

I've tried to cut down on the caffeine, not cut it out completely. I'm taking prenatal vits too.
I was going to try and cut out dairy stuff as that's meant to hinder conception, but I just can't do it. I love cheese to much and have cereal for breakfast. Maybe if this months efforts don't work I will cut out dairy next month.

Big hugs to you Ready.

Ready · 02/07/2007 17:35

Let's hope 11 is lucky for both of us 3cats huh! With our extra LP days

It's funny that you say that about dairy being a potential hinderance (sp?) - I read not that long ago that full fat dairy is better than low fat dairy for fertility. There's always something conflicting out there isn't there. I am like you though, I couldn't cut out dairy. I am a cereal girl, I hate it when I have to have toast in the mornings. I also think that the calcium in dairy is too beneficial to women to cut it out.

What am I doing differently this month... well let's see. Referral appointment mid cycle, and trying to eat healthily and exercise more. I've lost quite a bit of weight over the last few months, but more through deprivation than exercise - so I need to change that and be more active. Other than that I am just going to carry on regardless.

What will be, will be.

It's good to cut down on the caffeine, I usually have a cup of tea in the mornings, and maybe one in the afternoon. I have found Rooibos tea is a really nice alternative, that can be drunk with milk, just like proper tea. It's naturally caffeine free. www.rooiboschtea.com/home/

3catstoo · 02/07/2007 18:31

I'm glad you've read that about dairy . Camembert for supper.

I tend to have a normal cup of tea in the morning and then drink decaff for the rest of the day. Although I only have 3 or 4 cups if I'm lucky.

I'm hoping DH is in a good mood tonight. It would be good to make it 4 in a row. Ov is apparently today, so we need to make the most of it.

3catstoo · 04/07/2007 10:52

I searched that article, Ready. It does say that full fat is better than half fat . I've never used half fat anything, just don't like the taste.

I saw the thyroid Dr again yesterday. He has put my dose upto 50mcg. I have to see him in 6-8 weeks but my insurance company won't pay for any more.
Now I have get my gp to refer me on the NHS .

I want to keep seeing him as he's more knowledgable than my gp on this.
My gp said not to put my dose up but specialist said it was wise especially as ttc. It should be at optimum levels.

I can't bring myself to call my gp now.

How's everyone else?

Ready · 04/07/2007 11:49

Glad I hadn't imagined the dairy article 3cats - I drink skimmed milk because I can't stand the taste of anything creamier on my weetabix
Can you ask to see a different GP at all? It's just that if a specialist says something, then the GP should accept that, after all, they are not specialist - and that is what the referral system is there for! Good luck.

3catstoo · 04/07/2007 13:40

I'm the opposite. I would have jersey milk on my weetabix, if I could have it delivered . Good thing I can't really.

My gp is a village doctor. There are only 2 in the surgery and I have the better one of the 2.

I might make an appointment to see him and discuss it with him. I'm sure he will understand.

MrsMcJnr · 04/07/2007 16:30

Hey ladies just back from hols and popping in to say hello. How are you all? I'll try and keep up from now on.

Ready · 05/07/2007 17:32

3catstoo - jersey milk - woah! Did you pluck up the courage to call your GP yet?

CITYANGEL - How are you sweets? You are v quiet at the moment, is everything ok?

MrsMc - Nice to see you, hope you had a lovely holiday and are suitably brown. How are things? You must be 12 weeks now hey? You sold your house yet?

MrsMcJnr · 05/07/2007 18:30

Hey Ready been thinking about you a lot! how was your holiday and being in your home town? do you know what's happening with DH's job yet and if you can stay put or do you have to move house? I'm good thanks. The holiday came at a perfect time as I was exhausted and needed the break. Our house is still unsold we are changing agents on Tuesday to see if that makes a difference. Tried to prgress a few things when we were in Spain, would so love to know that we can move as soon as we feel up to it after the baby is born (trying to be as positive as I can about that - it WILL happen this time) xx

cityangel · 06/07/2007 01:42

Hello everyone, Hey Ready, 3catsoo, MrsMC, all bunnies,

MRSMC good to catch up

Not much new with me. Lost in the corporate world so busy forgetting how much free time I previously had on MN, Next fertility appointment with hospital in August, bunch of r-l friends who don't understand, **-off with it all, am banned from the CBFM, temping, charting and really anything that I ever found useful all because the stupid bloody hospital doctor said so. Because it's 'stressful'. Not nearly as stressful as being none the wiser Mr Doc.

He dismissed a short luteal phase as a made up concept and banned temping so I've now lost 2 months of data that I would have used to discuss the 9 day luteal phase with the second opinion doctor... can you get second opinions on the NHS?

Anyway I've got used to months passing and nothing happening and can honestly say its not so hard and we're obviously in for the long haul.

PS: MrsMC my dh says how is your dh's back/hip/operation thingy healing?

Ready how is your footie man? I need help next week for my fantasy footbal bet he knows how I can win it!

3catsoo fingers crossed sounds good

3catstoo · 06/07/2007 13:10

Hi there City, MrsMc, Ready and Thinking.

Sounds very frustrating City.

MrsMc, I've forgotten when you are due.
Nice to hear from you. Glad you had a good holiday.

I'm having a funny month. Ov seemed very early to previous months. I guess that means my wait will be a shorter one, whatever happens. All this week I have had a skin breakout, I've never seen so many spots.
We managed to bd 4 days in a row upto Ov but nothing after (since!).

Of all the playground mums that are pg, the first is having a cs on Monday. Then there will be babies popping out all over the place. Roll on the summer hols so that I don't have to see all those tiny babies. Some are due in Sept though so there's no escaping it. Even the toddler group was full of newborns today.

This is a silly question but I'll ask it anyway....... can heavy lifting and serious running ruin my chances, after Ov?

I always seem to have to clear up at the toddler group a few days after Ov and I always get the heavy lifting jobs (despite being the smallest mum there). I thought today that maybe it's not such a good idea. What do you all think?
Not something I'd thought about before but as the months pass I'm clutching at straws as to what I can do to help.

Love to all.
xxxxxxx

Ready · 06/07/2007 13:34

3cats - Sounds to me like you are too nice! Fancy being expected to clear up, especially when you are smallest!I reckon a rota is in order! With regards to heavy lifting affecting your chances, I would say that so long as you are not doing anything out of the ordinary for you, then you should be fine. I was worried about box-ercise in the 2ww, but GP said that so long as you are not over-exerting yourself then it's not a problem. Crumbs, what a lot of waffle

City - I am pleased that you are ok... if a little miffed by not being able to temp. It's funny how different GPs/consultants can be. My GP loved my charts and wrote about them in my referral letter. I hope that it is not having too much of a negative effect not being able to temp. As for second opinions - who knows!!
My DH (still waiting for a club!) is doing fantasy football with some friends (I am not playing this season), I could always ask him for some pointers for you

MrsMcJnr - Sorry to hear that you are having to change agents. Does the "offers over" system hamper the sale of the larger properties do you think? We are now on the market, so I sympathise with you. It's a stressful time. Just make sure you try not to worry - and rest up
Well, DH is still not fixed up, which is a worry since preseason has started for a lot of clubs Fingers are crossed that things get sorted soon though - he may have to go on trial somewhere yet.
It was lovely going home to see everyone - we had a wonderful time! It just reminds me how far away we are though. Sigh.

Right... well enough of my waffle.

MrsMcJnr · 06/07/2007 14:54

Hey City sorry to hear that you are lost in the corporate world, are you actually enjoying it though? The fertility advice sounds very frustrating, good fro you heeding it, don?t know if I could, too much of a control freak. What are you supposed to be doing in the meantime? (other than the obvious ). Not sure about 2nd opinions on the NHS but might be worth asking? Thanks for asking about DH, his back is fine now and he?s back to playing football and everything

Hello 3cats ? no ?official? EDD yet as dating scan not until 20/7 when I?ll be 14+3 (and that +3 is so important ) but based on LMP it is 15/1, Ovusoft said 17/1 but they look at me like I?m mad when I tell them I OV late Hope all the changes this cycle are for the better. How are you getting on on the meds? Feel any better? Re the heavy lifting ? my ex?s father was an Ob/gyn and he felt that women should never do heavy lifting because of the damage it would cause, don?t know about serious running but never been a fan of that!

Hi Ready so you have a referral. Any updates hon? Sorry that DH is still waiting for a club Re agents, the change is really to get us onto the ESPC which is the solicitor?s property website, we think people are more likely to look there than on estate agency sites and we are hoping that that is what will make the difference. I think the Offers Over system is still a good one, it?s what we are used to here, sometimes houses go for crazy prices over the OO price but the general rule is 10% over. If there are no other bidders, you can always submit an offer and therefore avoid a bidding war too. Hope you get a sale soon (must feel bitter sweet though ).

3catstoo · 06/07/2007 16:07

Ready, there is a rota but today 3 people out of the 4 on the rota did not turn up and did not let me know.

As for the running, I don't generally do it but it was the parents race at sports day and I just had to give it my all . Afterwards I thought maybe it wasn't such a good idea.

As I said, clutching at straws.

Had cramping this afternoon and it's only CD20.

City, I'm not sure about second opinions on the nhs either, sorry.

3catstoo · 10/07/2007 14:07

Hi ladies.
How is everyone this week?

I have yet another cold.

The software has gone all funny on me. It is telling me I am still fertile due to a recent +ve opk, but that was 8 days ago!
I've done more opks this week just to make sure but they are -ve.

According to software (which also said Ov was last monday) AF is due this Friday. As my last 2 cycles gained one/two days I will wait until after the weekend to test if AF hasn't arrived by then.

Fingers crossed that AF won't arrive.

greedygreedyguzzler · 10/07/2007 14:30

i am crossing my fingers for you too 3cats!!! its about time you got this BFP!

3catstoo · 10/07/2007 16:40

Oh thank you Greedy, so sweet of you.

How are you doing?
