I guess so, but no idea how much you'd need

pixielove123 · 01/09/2017 14:20

@NimbleKnitter let us know if it works... the things we'll do!!!

Steaksauce · 01/09/2017 14:34

I'm giggling like a school girl at "regular prick" hahaha! Grin

HoldTightPretendItsAPlan · 01/09/2017 14:52

I'm sliding over from the August bus

Age: 28
TTC: #1
Cycle: #4
BFP due: 24th - 31st AUGUST

I have irregular cycles, from 27 to 46 days averaging 37 days since Christmas. I've been temping & using OPKs, and I'm pretty convinced I ovulated on 24/25th Aug. No AF yet, and no drop in bbt. My luteal phase was only 8 days last month (first month of temping), and my temp started dropping 5 days after ovulation.

I'm trying to resist the urge to test until Monday, but is it mad to be a bit hopeful?

NimbleKnitter · 01/09/2017 15:06

Not mad at all - the lengthening of your luteal phase alone is reason to celebrate!

Fingers crossed

Hmm, after 2 days of a super period I'm now barely spotting. I tried a few things this month which I thought would help thicken my uterine lining and give a heavier AF, instead I've had my lightest one yet. It's so frustrating since it's impossible to know if that is an issue.
I've also had an ovulation like pain on my right side earlier today so I don't know what the heck that is.

HolyShmoly · 01/09/2017 16:56

Super light period ffs, nothing super about it.Angry

LovePinaColada · 01/09/2017 17:19

I have had some spotting today - trying to keep my hopes up, but it could be AF rearing his ugly head! I am 11DPO - AF due Monday! I wish it would hurry up & come.

LovePinaColada · 01/09/2017 17:23

Laughing at a regular prick to! 😂😂

Janefx40 · 01/09/2017 18:16

@LovePinaColada @Steaksauce me too laughing on the tube at "regular prick!" Are we mature enough to have babies?!!

Janefx40 · 01/09/2017 18:18

@HolyShmoly I know how you feel but am taking solace in the Dr saying it was fine to have light periods.

I also started acupuncture today to try to help. I loved it! It was so nice to be doing something positive towards TTC rather than being poked and prodded and tested. Will let you know if it has any effect x

Steaksauce · 01/09/2017 18:49

@Janefx40 @LovePinaColada glad I'm not the only one! Hmm I don't feel old enough to have babies but at 37 I think I've procrastinated about it long enough.
Being slightly childish keeps you young right?

I was chatting to one of the guys in my team the other day and he looked at someone's desk (which had a couple of plums on it) and said "your plums look juicy" to the guy sat there and went off into peels of laughter - he's 60.

It made me feel better Grin

Steaksauce · 01/09/2017 18:51

@Janefx40 does acupuncture hurt? What does it entail?

Janefx40 · 01/09/2017 18:58

@Steaksauce it didn't really hurt. Some of the needles hurt a tiny bit when they went in but not as much as having blood taken. There was one in my calf and I felt a kind of muscle ache running down my leg.

It was nice. She took a medical history and then lay me down, out a few needles in, turned on a hot lamp and left me for 20 mins. I think the session was a little shorter because she had to take all my information.

It felt good to be doing something positive towards conceiving rather than all the doom and gloom and blood tests.

It really sorted out my friend's periods - hers were irregular and heavy x

McTufty · 01/09/2017 19:13

holyschmoly I also have super light periods e.g. two days of spotting! What have you taken? I'm on my first cycle of raspberry leaf and baby aspirin, desperately hoping it works

hellotoyellow · 01/09/2017 19:14

AF arrived and I'm for the first time so, so sad. This was cycle number 10. I even did a frigging pregnancy test this morning with my FMU, then wiped and realised AF had started. I really thought I was cool with this whole not getting pregnant thing... I think this is the first time I cried about it.

So...
Age: 30
Cycle no 11
BFP (?ever?) due: 29th September.

Janefx40 · 01/09/2017 19:31

@hellotoyellow I'm so sorry - it is really hard - which is why this group can be so helpful. Don't feel silly for hoping - we have to be allowed to hope and to feel sad when it doesn't happen. I generally feel better once AF is under way - hope you do too.

Welcome to the September bus!

Mrsjones17 · 01/09/2017 19:33

@janefx will be interested to see how you get on. I've been having accupuncture for some time for a muscle issues but this time have decided to switch to helping to trying and sort my periods out. The sessions I have are normally an hour and half but like you said yours could be short because of the information needed at beginning. If it was like mine it took ages!

juneybean · 01/09/2017 19:40

Oh @hellotoyellow so sorry :( it's utterly shit isn't it?

Acupuncture sounds interesting, how did you find someone for that?

OP posts:
hellotoyellow · 01/09/2017 19:40

Thank you @janefx. Good to hear about the acupucture! x

hellotoyellow · 01/09/2017 19:41

And yes I feel better. Mainly due to wine! Grin Wine

pixielove123 · 01/09/2017 19:46

Have been thinking about acupuncture for a while. So really interested at how it works.

So, still no sign of AF. Still have weird period pains in tummy. Creamy CM. Negative when POAS. Question: do I temp tomorrow or not. Haven't taken my temp for over a week because of the fact that I toss and turn for about Three hours before I really wake up. Or do I just keep POAS until I either get a BFP or AF arrived???

McTufty · 01/09/2017 19:48

pixie nothing to be gained from temping at this point! You'll just overanalyse the temp if you're anything like me and without the previous week it doesn't mean anything.

Symptoms sound promising though!

pixielove123 · 01/09/2017 19:55

Thanks @McTufty thought it might take the guessing out if the guessing game. But if it will add to confusion then I'll give it it a skip. When I was temping it was just creating huge stress for some reason. So whew!!!
