Haha nimble I think today is ovulation day like you say. If you can manage it give it a whirl.

coconut you're not out til she shows. I don't think CM is a reliable indicator of pregnancy.

@Inrainbows I would totally be checking if hiccups are a sign haha. I'm going nuts looking at my resting heart rate chart at the moment. It would be good if we could just stop thinking for 2 weeks.

Thanks @pinkbeetroot maybe I should plan some kind of birthday party. Hadn't given it much thought yet!

CoconutGal · 22/08/2017 11:39

@juneybean - that's very true.

Emz01 · 22/08/2017 11:50

Welcome to all the newbies!

Due to ovulate tomorrow and opk was very dark this morning but not quite positive (I never seem to be able to get a true positive) so could end up ovulating tonight. Really hope this is the month, on holiday abroad when bfp/af is due and not sure if I should take a test with me?!

@InRainbows & @NimbleKnitter seems like we are all due to ovulate at the same time. In it together for the tww!

Fia256 · 22/08/2017 12:08

@Emz01 i am also on holiday when I am due to test! The tests will be the first thing I pack Grin I'm thinking that if I get a bfp, it's a beautiful place for it, but also if af comes, were are in a lovely place with lots of distractions to take my mind off it!

NimbleKnitter · 22/08/2017 12:11

Yep!

Family wedding on the 9th - I should know by then right? Not that it makes that much difference, as I've given up alcohol and caffeine (joy!)

juneybean · 22/08/2017 12:20

emz I would take a test, I was on honeymoon in May during our first cycle and I didn't take a test so it's all I thought about

InRainbows · 22/08/2017 12:22

Hi @Emz01 hope you have both been busy over the last few days 😉

My AF is due on the 9th but I'm on the bus as the 14th as I want to wait 5 days before testing (like that's ever going to happen)

Well done for giving up booze and caffeine @NimbleKnitter I too have hit the wagon, still having two coffees a day but expecting a delivery of decaf today so can switch my morning one!

Island35 · 22/08/2017 12:25

Hello can I join? I was hoping to be on the August bus but AF decided to hit me at full force at 6am.

I have an amazing doctor who has done 3 lots of bloods and am now taking iron supplements. Does anybody have any advice or experience in this at all? Love the support here!

NimbleKnitter · 22/08/2017 12:30

@InRainbows good luck! I felt like dog sh*t for a few days after!

But it has helped with my menstruation migraines and general PMS

Emz01 · 22/08/2017 16:24

@Fia256 & @juneybean I think I will definitely take one with me. I was in France when I found out about DC1, wasn't much fun trying to get a test in french. This time I'm in Spain and my Spanish is even worse.

@juneybean I was with you on the May bus and I remember you talking about wanting to test on holiday.

@InRainbows not been as busy as I would have liked to have been but going to hopefully make up for that!

Emz01 · 22/08/2017 16:25

Sorry not sure why last post was in bold!

loobylou124 · 22/08/2017 16:53

Oooh all this temping talk is making me wonder if I should give it a go next month if AF turns up. I think I've bodged up today's opk...it's reading paler than the last two days and I'm only on CD10. I think I must have had too much to drink today, I've diluted the result, lol!

NimbleKnitter · 22/08/2017 17:14

@loobylou124 temping only really tells you when you can stop shagging, not when to start.

But I would rely on my temp results over my opk results every day of the week

Emz01 · 22/08/2017 19:17

What do you think girls? Positive opk? I've been using them for a few months and never seen it this dark before.

InRainbows · 22/08/2017 19:32

Ooo yeah Emz01 your good to go! 🤣

moomoo85 · 22/08/2017 20:51

Does anyone else have quite a short cycle? Mine is 26 days. If yours is similar on which day do you ovulate? I am struggling to know when I am going to ovulate. As it is my first time of trying this time around I am probably just going to go for it and if not I guess I will have to go back to temping. Currently day 5 of my cycle

Emz01 · 22/08/2017 21:12

@moomoo85 I've had 26 day cycles in the past, ovulation day is around day 12. No guarantee but temping would confirm.

NimbleKnitter · 22/08/2017 21:13

@moomoo85 my cycle can be as short as 26 days, but i know (from temping) that my luteal phase (between ovulation and my period) is almost always 14 days - meaning my follicular phase is sometimes shorter.

For others, their luteal phase will be shorter, so even if we hack the same cycle day 1, we will ovulate on different days.

Best to pay attention to your signs of ovulation (temping, opk, cervical fluid, heart rate, ovulation pain, ovulation sickness - all that jazz) and it'll give you an idea as to when you ovulate.

Good luck!

NimbleKnitter · 23/08/2017 09:35

Yep. Looks like I ovulated yesterday.

Is there any point trying again tonight? Or can we both have a little rest?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 23/08/2017 09:46

I'd keep going for a couple more days if I were you!

juneybean · 23/08/2017 10:36

If your temp has shot up I'd give it a miss if you're not enjoying it.

OP posts:
NimbleKnitter · 23/08/2017 11:23

I got a sort-of spike. So either it's going to keep going up, and I've ovulated, or it won't, and this is an anovulatory cycle.

Either way - I'm not sure there's much to gain from trying again, and it's stressing me out a bit. Every other day next month methinks

juneybean · 23/08/2017 12:01

Definitely! I don't think that's anovulatory. Think you've done your best!

NimbleKnitter · 23/08/2017 12:33

Thanks. Phew!

In other news, a friend of mine who's been trying for over a year, and has just been referred for tests, got a positive 2-3 weeks on a digital test.

Last month she was on holiday. Didn't track anything.

Her cd 3 blood test was supposed to be today.
