@moomoo85 - No confusion on my cycle in terms of when AF finished, when I ovulated & how many DPO I am. I did google it myself & saw many people say theirs picked up a pregnancy hormone too. I've ordered some frer tests that should be coming tomorrow, but I'm at work so I'll be testing Tuesday morning. AF is due on 1st September.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 20/08/2017 18:33

I was starting to think the same thing but wasn't sure if I read the dates right and misunderstood. I can confirm (just from my experience) that they can sometimes pick up pregnancy hormones. It does seem like a massive jump from the day before. Saying that they can also get a bit darker if you test close to your period for the same reason. Good luck for Tuesday.

BarryTheKestrel · 20/08/2017 18:40

Evening all, hope you don't mind another joining in.

Age: 27
TTC: #2
Cycle: 3
BFP due 8th September (also DHs birthday) with any luck.

So I didn't get obvious signs of ovulation this month (previous months I've had an increase of cm and sharp pains on one side) but I can put the lack of CM down to have lots more unprotected sex and the pains possibly coming at night when I was sleeping.
It would have happened on around Wednesday, based on my hr dropping by two bpm that day and staying down on Thursday, climbing back on Friday and Saturday and stabilising again. This matches my expected ovulation date.

Anyways, yesterday and today I've been getting twinges on and off in my pelvic area. Could this be a good sign? Bad sign? Sign that I'm just paying way more attention to my body than previously? I know the latter is most likely. But does anyone have any ideas?

I won't be online much after tomorrow until I'm due to POAS so I may as well get all my wondering out now. Earlier this month I really felt like this was the month and I even got a particularly good feeling when dtd on Sunday Blush Now the doubt has set in!

loobylou124 · 20/08/2017 20:43

I'm so confused about OPKs as well. This is my first month trying them, more to check that I am actually ovulating than anything else. I've been so horny since getting off the pill DH and I have been dtd pretty much every day! Not sure we can keep this up for long though Wink. Got a negative opk yesterday and today so hoping for something positive by Friday. God knows if I'm doing this right or not Confused but with all this nookie going on hopefully we're covered!

NimbleKnitter · 20/08/2017 21:39

My understanding of opks is that they can only detect the hormone that triggers ovulation, but this doesn't confirm that ovulation actually took place (ie you can have a positive opk without actually ovulating).

Is that the case? And if so, how else can you confirm ovulation? Temping?

PhoenixDown · 21/08/2017 03:05

that's right Nimble - an LH surge means you should ovulate, but it's not definite. Temping is the only way to confirm ovulation as the temp rise is caused by progesterone which can only start being produced once the egg is released.

CoconutGal · 21/08/2017 05:08

I have been temping as well & my temp has been elevated for a few days. However I'm not sure what's normal temp for me as I've only started temping this month. Currently 36.5c

juneybean · 21/08/2017 06:41

Ahh finally I got my crosshairs on fertility friend! I'm 4dpo!

Fia256 · 21/08/2017 06:51

@juneybean me too this morning! 3dpo for me but went up another .1 so must be a slow rising month for me

juneybean · 21/08/2017 08:18

Wonder what it means!

loobylou124 · 21/08/2017 08:54

Thanks guys, I'm such a noob, still figuring all this stuff out! What do your crosshairs mean @juney and @fia? Is that ov?

I'm on CD9 today. Where is everyone else at? X

juneybean · 21/08/2017 09:21

@loobylou124 fertility friend will plot when it thinks ovulation occurred and will also give you a coverline, so if temperatures remain above the coverline it's good news.

Here's my chart:

Good luck in the 2ww ladies!

Back from docs, coil is out Grin Grin

PhoenixDown · 21/08/2017 09:32

Loobylou I'm CD 13, waiting to ovulate Smile

Fia256 · 21/08/2017 10:20

@loobylou124 I am CD21. Not a good feeling with this month though

Just wondering who pays for the VIP on FF? My 30 days free trial is almost up (2 days left) and I don't know what to do! My cycle seems a mess this month and while FF is saying 3dpo, my temps don't seem great so not sure if I have. Dtd every day except my positive opk days this month 🙄 so I'm fully expecting to be here still next month!

Is it worth paying out for the extra features or do many of you find the standard version is enough?

NimbleKnitter · 21/08/2017 10:27

Thanks @PhoenixDown - that's what I thought

And - amazingly - my natural cycles and digital monitor both seem to agree and have moved my ov date to tomorrow.

Husband will not be thrilled - he's found sex every day a bit too much (even though it was his idea...). Will be switching to every other day next cycle (when we'll be on holiday).

(Yes, I'm assuming there will be a next cycle - seems easiest to 'manage expectations' that way)

PhoenixDown · 21/08/2017 10:39

I pay for it Fia I find the features useful, it was about 16 quid for 3 months. A lot of the features are locked out in the free version x

juneybean · 21/08/2017 10:46

I pay for the features too fia I buy a year at a time as it seems fair (although don't know if I have a longterm discount).

Do you want to show us your chart and we can advise?

OP posts:
Fia256 · 21/08/2017 10:48

Ah I thought that would be the case on the standard version! Don't know what to do, while there's only a low chance it will happen this month, I'll be really annoyed if I do get a bfp and I've just paid for 3 months! Decisions decisions. I know it's not a lot of money, but I see it as that's a similar amount for a cb digital or two that I will no doubt buy if I get a bfp! I didn't time my free trial very well lol

juneybean · 21/08/2017 11:00

Fia I kind of like to tempt fate and pay for a year as then if I got my BFP the first month I really wouldn't care that I just paid £30 ish cos I had my BFP!!!

OP posts:
PhoenixDown · 21/08/2017 11:05

Haha juneybean that's my rationale too, I figure if I pay for it it'll be sods law I get a BFP Grin

juneybean · 21/08/2017 11:09

Grin Phoenix although I paid in March and still waiting....god dammit!

OP posts:
Fia256 · 21/08/2017 11:11

Haha that is also what I'm thinking too! Oh sod it I know I'll be here again next month so I've bought it!

Yes can do, how do I do that though?!
