Am in 2WW Too! AF due 2nd August but I get menstrual migraines which mean I should get an early indicator 29/30th July. If I get a headache then, I'm out. Usually fairly sane until that point and then I lose the plot!

pixieinlove · 23/07/2017 08:08

#fingerscrossed you get a BFP @Janefx40

ally62442 · 23/07/2017 14:36

I decided to do the SMEP this cycle. I know it's initially meant for conceiving after miscarriage. But I thought there would be no harm in trying it out. Is anyone else trying this?

I'm on cycle day 12 so we dtd today and won't be doing it again now till Tuesday unless I get a positive opk tomorrow. I'm so impatient I wish I was coming towards the end of my tww. Everything seems to go so slow when TTC! I can't imagine how frustrating it must feel if you've been trying for a lot of cycles.

pixieinlove · 23/07/2017 15:06

@ally62442 what is the SMEP method?

ally62442 · 23/07/2017 15:11

@pixieinlove it's the sperm meets egg plan. It's meant to maximise the chance you get pregnant by making sure there is always sperm there waiting for the egg. You start dtd on CD8 then every other day until you get your positive OPK. When you get your positive OPK you dtd for 3 days in a row miss a day and do it once more. If you never get a positive OPK or don't test for ovulation you just carry on dtd every other day.

HolyShmoly · 23/07/2017 15:30

What pregnancy tests do people use or is there much difference? Due to test on Thursday which will be day after AF is due.

LovePinaColada · 23/07/2017 16:01

Good luck @HolyShmoly! I don'y have much experience (yet) but I hear Pink Dye tests, such as First Response are the most reliable!

I have had another migraine today (only had one on Wed), which is unusual for me - also a very funny tummy (tmi) so trying to not get carried away that this is a TWW sign!

pixieinlove · 23/07/2017 16:01

@ally62442 ah then that's what we are doing. We started CD7. Haven't managed every second day every time but definitely every third day when we didn't manage every second day and we then got a positive OPK and this will be the third day DTD in a row.
I was planning on trying to DTD every second or third day until AF arrived or in this case hopefully not... but is that not necessary?

PointeShoesAndTutus · 23/07/2017 17:12

Experienced OPK ladies - I got the strong positive on Friday - we DTD every other day last week (Sun, Tues, Thu, Sat) - couldn't actually DTD Friday as I had a stinking migraine. Tested today and the OPK is back to a faint line - does that mean I've ovulated? Should we carry on DTD a bit longer?

This is my first cycle of taking a more scientific approach rather than just DTD when I think I'm ovulating! Hoping this approach might lead to success!

ally62442 · 23/07/2017 17:22

@pixieinlove has your OPKs gone faint again now? If you've deffo ovulated and dtd for the past 3 days then I don't suppose you'd need to dtd every other until AF. But if you feel like you still want to then It wouldn't matter. If anything it might perhaps give you the peace of mind that you've done all you can this cycle. I reckon my fella is going to be glad of the break once I've ovulated. Haha

pixieinlove · 23/07/2017 17:46

@ally62442 haven't done an OPK since I got a negative on Friday after Thurs positive. Shock too late to do one now as I did them at 5pm and it's 6:45pm here is SA. I'll DTD tonight then again on Tues. and then wait the week and a half till I can POAS!

My fellow too will be pleased for the break too hahaha!!

IntelligentPutty · 24/07/2017 08:48

ally62442 · 24/07/2017 09:30

@pixieinlove you should be fine then. You've covered all your bases. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you bfp. I'm only CD 13 today so have a little while to go yet.

Hi @IntelligentPutty sorry hear of you Mmc and ectopic. Fx this is your cycle.

LovePinaColada · 24/07/2017 11:43

Hi girls, I had a mini Baby Bomb yesterday - my sister announced she is TTC & has had some weird symptoms & her AF is due tomorrow. I felt such a pang of sadness - obviously I would be thrilled & so excited for her, but sadness was my first reaction. Hope this doesn't make me a bad sister! 😩

TTC is such an emotional rollercoaster!

juneybean · 24/07/2017 13:01

aww love it's awful isn't it?

My best friend got pregnant on her first go of DIUI (she's single) and it felt like such a stab for me as I'm on cycle 8 or 9 I've lost count and two of those were DIUI :(

LovePinaColada · 24/07/2017 13:36

So hard isn't it! Thinking of you!

On another note - I think I have spotting today, I never usually get this, but if it's 'implantation' bleeding it would be ridiculously early as I think I only ovulated Thurs, Fri or Sat! Any wisdom?

juneybean · 24/07/2017 13:40

Could it be the remnants of a strong ovulation? Seems awfully early for implantation (sorry!)

ally62442 · 24/07/2017 13:55

That does seem a little early for implantation bleeding but you never know. Unless you did ovulate early @LovePinaColada.

Me and two of my closest friends are all trying for babies at the same time. It's a tough subject as I really hope they fall pregnant, but at the same time I'd be gutted if I'm the only one not pregnant. The only consolation is that they both don't live in the same place as me so it wouldn't be a constant reminder.

LovePinaColada · 24/07/2017 13:56

Goodness knows what's going on! I was reading up about implantation bleeding last night so I am sure it's my body just playing tricks on me!

I totally agree @juney!

LovePinaColada · 24/07/2017 14:06

It's so hard - such conflicting emotions @ally62442! You never know, you could all be pregnant at the same time & that would be fab!

ally62442 · 24/07/2017 14:13

That's would be fab and I'd love for that to be the case @LovePinaColada

I'm hoping me see lots of BFPs on this thread too! Even though it's only my second cycle TTC I find these threads so helpful. They keep me sane. Especially during the tww. I'm a major symptom spotter. I need to tame myself this time round.

Emz01 · 24/07/2017 14:22

Hi girls,

Loving seeing the support for one another on this thread. All such friendly people here.

Currently on CD13 which is the same day I ovulated on last cycle. Still no sign of ovulation on OPK's as they are still quite faint, having some ewcm so hopefully it happens soon.

Anyone else have faint opk's which go straight to a positive or are they gradual?

ladydolly · 24/07/2017 14:23

I had/have a similar situation, when we decided to ttc DC1 a friend of mine was on her 3rd round of IVF, luckily she conceived just before we did and we were pregnant and on mat leave together. She knows I'm trying again and I think she's avoiding me now as they can't have any more and she's waiting for an announcement. All my friends are done with kids so a baby bomb would be huge now.

Same @ally! Symptom spotting non stop. I'm on 4/5dpo and having on/off cramps. None of the 'pulling' feeling I had last month or with DC1 though so probably nothing. Feeling a bit low about it today.

LovePinaColada · 24/07/2017 14:29

Another major symptom spotter here @ally62442 & @ladydolly! I am awful - I am only on cycle two but I seriously need to get a grip!

The support here is fab - it helps to keep me sane! Sorry @Emz01 - I have never used OPK so don't have any help to offer, I am sure someone else will.

ladydolly · 24/07/2017 14:32

Mine are normally gradual emz01 but if you are getting other signs and it's around the right time then you could try testing morning and evening? I can't remember who but some one on here goes up to 3 or 4 times a day around expected ovulation.
