Thought I'd start a July bus, I'll be due to test around the 3/4th (because I'm impatient mostly). Fingers crossed for us all!

@Mamabooksbabynumber2 the episode I was talking about it is called the one with Phoebe's Birthday dinner. I think you're right about the luteal phase, ideally it needs to be 11 days or longer, although I have read threads where ladies have conceived with a 10day luteal phase so it can be done!

@WithCheesePlease haha yes I remember that too, it does all make so much more sense now. The struggle is real!

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 26/06/2017 10:23

Thanks emz I will buy that flashy smiley ov thing for next cycle if I don't get a bfp this month so I can be sure wh8ch day I do ov. I have a dc1 but this was 7 years ago. Should I be worried my lutual phase is 10-11 days?

Emz01 · 26/06/2017 10:37

@Mamabooksbabynumber2 I'm not sure to be honest, you can always mention it to your gp if you don't get a bfp over the next couple of months or I've heard there are ways of extending your luteal phase by taking supplements. Might be worth looking into if you definitely know you have a 10 day luteal phase.

Someone else might be able to give you a better answer who knows more than I do.

Mrsjones17 · 26/06/2017 10:42

How can you work out how long your luteal phase is? When tracking period is it best to go from first say if flow or spotting I never know?! 5dpo today and feel like time is going backwards!

WithCheesePlease · 26/06/2017 11:58

MrsJones I think day 1 is considered the first day of proper flow. So if you get a bit of spotting on 10th June, but it starts fully on 11th June - you count day 1 as being 11th June.

mamasbook I don't know anything about luteal phases I'm afraid.

Mrsjones17 · 26/06/2017 13:25

Crazy lady needing to vent. I told myself I was going to try not to symptom spot but of course I am!! Pain in my left side at near hip and now sticky cm. Does this mean anything??? I'm so impatient!

Mrsjones17 · 26/06/2017 13:59

And now cramps like AF!

MissWitch · 26/06/2017 16:03

Cramps were one of my first symptoms both times and then sore boobs. When is AF/BFP due?

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 26/06/2017 16:09

I'm trying not to symptom spot with you as I don't want to feel disappointed! I read that it takes up to 10 days for implantation and then 2-3 days for releasing enough hormone for tests to pick up.

I've been scouring mumsnet all day and now feeling really desperate to get pregnant this month!

Mrsjones17 · 26/06/2017 16:10

@misswitch AF due 5th/6th July. No sore boobs. My boobs do get heavier when AF is due so would be difficult to work out if it's a sign!

Mrsjones17 · 26/06/2017 16:14

@mamasbooksbabynumber2. Once again I'm right there with you!!!!

WithCheesePlease · 26/06/2017 16:23

Cramps were one of my first symptoms both times and then sore boobs... oh wow, that's exciting mrsjones, but not to get ahead of ourselves of course

I have sore boobs too, but always do for 2 weeks before AF.... also not sure if I'm feeling something in my stomach (probably imagination). This is torture!

AlexsMum89 · 26/06/2017 16:23

Ladies, I need a little help with the craziness. I've been hanging around on this forum all day. What's your opinions? I had what I think could have been implantation bleeding sat night / sun morning. AF is due on weds, and I have sore heavy boobs that are definitely bigger. They've been like that for over a week tho. Today I can't stop going to the loo (both 1 and 2, sorry TMI). I managed not to POAS like a champ this morning lol. I've got a FRER in the cupboard. Do you think I can test tomorrow?

Mrsjones17 · 26/06/2017 16:39

@withcheeseplease I know! I'm posting o here to you lovely lot can keep me sane. I can't decide if I'm imagining it because I want it so bad!

@alexsmum89 that's some resolve you've got there to not POAS!!! You could do a frer tomorrow if you were it would pick it up by now wouldn't it?? FX for you x

WithCheesePlease · 26/06/2017 17:11

alexsmum if AF is due on wed, and you're pretty regular, I definitely think you can use the early response test tomorrow! good luck!

Ladies, I’ve got a question for you- I booked a weekend away ages ago to bring my parents away as a treat for them. The weekend in question is 7th July – the same weekend AF is due (or BFP!). Shock.

AF is fairly reqular, but it could come any time between Fri 7th and even as late as Tues 11th.

My DH won’t be there with us. My question is WWYD:

  1. Do an early response test with DH on 5th/6th while we’re still there together or
  2. Go away on the weekend, and live in ignorant bliss that maybe there’s a good chance of BFP when I return (in which case I’d wait until Mon 10th to do the test with him). AF might not come until after the weekend anyway

If I do the test early:

  • It might show up positive and then I’d be so happy, and would be able to celebrate with DH, and then go enjoy the weekend away completely over the moon and finally able to stop obsessing and relax.
  • BUT if it shows up negative - it could be just because I’ve tested too soon, or because it is actually negative, in which case I’d be devastated and would find it very hard to ‘put on a happy face’ for the weekend and pretend to be fine. I wouldn’t want to ruin the weekend on my parents as they really deserve this break

If I don’t test:

  • It could be playing on my mind, and I’ll probably quite distracted for the weekend
  • I could get a sudden shock if AF comes on without warning on any one of the days we’re away
  • I won’t know whether I can drink or not – if I got a BFN I’d probably drown my sorrows (discretely), under the guise of enjoying ourselves!

So what do? Bearing in mind I’m dying to POAS right now, but also can’t bear the thought of seeing a BFN!

Mrsjones17 · 26/06/2017 18:18

I think I would go for option number 2 and wait until after the weekend. You want to test with him and don't want it to ruin what sounds like a lovely weekend!

Emz01 · 26/06/2017 18:35

@AlexsMum89 I would definitely test tomorrow, not sure how you managed not to test today, I don't think I would be able to stop myself!

@WithCheesePlease I would try and wait until after you get home. Like you say AF might not be due until the 11th so testing too early will only end in disappointment. Easier said than done I know!

WithCheesePlease · 26/06/2017 18:40

Thanks MrsJones and Emz Yeah I think that's the way I'm swaying. I'll try not to even buy one before then, to limit the temptation!

Mrsjones17 · 26/06/2017 19:00

I've got another method of dealing with symptom spotting...every time I think about it make myself go for a swim/cycle/run of some kind...my triathlon training is coming along nicely!!! 😂😂😂

MissWitch · 26/06/2017 23:30

Mrsjones it's rubbish that the symptoms of pregnancy and pms are the same. I'm totally with you re symptom spotting though. It messes with your head!

withcheese if it were me I don't think I'd be able to resist doing an early test, though it would definitely make more sense to wait it out.

AlexsMum89 · 27/06/2017 07:09

BFN today Sad not even a hint of a line. I need to stop this obsessing, I'm out.
Best of luck ladies xx

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 27/06/2017 08:49

withcheese I'd struggle to wait! mrsjones how are you doing today and the symptom spotting? I had a stitch in my pelvis for several hours yesterday but don't want to get my hopes up. I'm 3dpo today. Will test on cd28 which is next tueaday Grin

alex when is af due?

BlueeSpottyTiger · 27/06/2017 09:04

4dpo today and I've just had a very very sharp stabby pain in my left pelvis which lasted a minute or so. . Trying to read too much into it but i had it when i got my bfp 2 cycles ago!

Sorry about bfn alex hopefully it's just too early!?
mrsjones haha if that was me doing that i would be running constantly! I used to do triathlons about 10 years ago.. not sure why i stopped actually! I was 14 though so i prob didn't have much drive lol
withcheese wow! You've got some willpower, i test from 7dpo with ic's. even though i know it won't show anything. I did have bfp on a frer with dd at 9dpo though

Melodypond17 · 27/06/2017 09:12

2dpo and heading off on my honeymoon so that's one way of distracting myself from symptom spotting... x
